Hi there my crafty friends! I cut the Floral Symphony Cover Plate die with two pieces of white card. I used the bottom card to colour the design with alcohol ink markers. I cut the die a second time out of black card. I used the black die cut as an offset shadow behind the white die cut. I glued it in place over the coloured copy. I cut a larger piece of white card and covered it with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet. I peeled off the backing paper and coated the edge with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz. I attached the die cut to it so the edge showed. I cut the Dear Friend sentiment in black and glued it the the left side of the card. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6" x 6 3/4" in size.
This is the last card that I have to share with you. Sorry it is so similar to yesterday's card, I usually make sure to mix them with other releases but I did not have that opportunity here. I have so enjoyed doing my daily blog for you, it has been one of the highlights of my crafting career. Reading all of your comments along the way has been so amazing too. Thank you so much for joining me on this incredible journey!
All for now, Sue x
Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful bright & cheery card. So sorry to see that this is your last post as I have thoroughly enjoyed looking forward to seeing your beautiful creations that you had for us. Hopefully someone else will snap you up & have you design for them & we may see your beautiful posts again. Enjoy some you time & thank you for keeping this going for so long. Yvonne xx
Good morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful card to finish with, thank you. Your last message on the blog brought tears to my eyes, I knew it was coming but it is still hard to see it in black and white. Thankfully we know the blog will remain so that we can refer back to all the fantastic wonderful samples you have shown us including all the instructions on how to make it. I know many crafty friends who aare on this blog and they also will refer back to previous samples.
ReplyDeleteThank you once again for all you have done for us over the years, from meeting you at Ally Pally (what an honour that was), on so many occasions, to seeing you demo on TV, and this daily blog. I wish both you and Colin a very Happy Retirement and to you both spending many happy hours together with your family and friends, so for the last time.
Stay safe, healthy, and happy, hugs, June Smith xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have had a few tears thank you.
Take care all Kitty xxxx.
Morning Sue and all.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say how devastated I am for you and Colin that Creative Expressions has had to close, and for the impact it will have on you both. I am even more devastated - and angry - at having learned that crafters purchasing counterfeit Sue Wilson dies from Temu, in order to save a few pounds, have played a significant role in Creative Expressions’ inability to continue trading. We all want to save money in these difficult times, but giving your money to the Temu counterfeiters, rather than Creative Expressions - the company paying for the designing, the marketing and packaging - just ends up putting the brand you love out of business. Apologies for the rant, but I just feel it is important that people are aware that the Sue Wilson dies for sale on Temu have been *stolen* from Creative Expressions, and when crafters buy them, the Temu counterfeiters keep 100% of your money - none of it goes to Creative Expressions. The damage that has done to Creative Expressions has been profound, so I am flagging it up, in case people are not aware of how Temu operates, before any other brands end up going the same way as Creative Expressions.
Lastly, I wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to you Sue, for getting me into crafting at an extremely difficult time in my life, for your generosity in answering my constant questions, and for your friendship. You have helped me in more ways than you will ever know - and for that I thank you so much.
Love Colleen xxx
Colleen. My sentiments exactly. Time after time I've seen copies on Amazon for less than half we true followers pay for Sue's dies and it's disgusting. Even though the dies are made in China they are still over riding copy right laws. For years I've been complaining about this subject but for as long as 'so called' crafters buy them, companies will continue to fold. I'm also thinking of those designers that started under CE that are now designing their own dies etc it seems one by one we'll have no place to get our stock. I'm so sad this has happened
DeleteSo sad that we are loosing you Sue, for many years my go to dies have your name on. Thank you for everything and be happy xx
DeleteThank You, for your inspiration over the years,
ReplyDeleteNothing in my opinion compares to a Sue Wilson Card.
Good morning Sue
ReplyDeleteI knew this day was coming and I’ve been dreading it I have tears in my eyes as I’m writing! 😢 I wish you and Colin a happy retirement full of fabulous journeys! Thank you so much for your inspiration and friendship! I will miss your posts and today’s card is a beautiful one to end with!
Take care my sweet friend! x

Morning Sue, What a really beautiful card for your last blog post. I am really sad that your lovely inspirational blog is stopping. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet you in person and that I have the privilege of owning many of your lovely dies. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the time you have given to your blog and the many demos you have done. I wish you all the best and I know you do not take this decision lightly. I hope that I will be able to visit the blog for a long time to come to look back over various posts that stood out, or look at the demos. Take care of yourself and your family. Bx

Hi Sue. What a lovely card to end with. I remember seeing you for the first time on TV stamping and colouring in those old people characters and following you on your blog. I still have the first trellis dies you designed. What an incredible journey. And you should feel proud of the length of time you blogged your samples without missing a single day. What a lot of cards you made to show us. I hope you and Colin enjoy your retirement for many years to come.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Sue xx
ReplyDeleteEvery birthday every valentines every anniversary and every Christmas I've had the best of the best. Every morning at 6am I'd open my phone wondering what the post would contain. All those Wednesdays I'd be waiting to see the giveaway thinking it was the first person to comment when the blog went live at 6am lol and 6am always beat me by seconds then I realised how wrong I was, well, I was a newbie to blogs etc 14 years on I've been in the wings at 6am and i know I've not left a comment but who wants to bring so many lovely people into the same black hole I was in. The doggy dies fell on such a sad, depressing time for me and that's the time I couldn't face pretending being me, the happy crafter but like I said I've been on the sidelines.
ReplyDelete15 years have bought me so much knowledge, so much happiness and a couple of wonderful friends, friends I'd never have found if it wasn't for you. I tried so hard to put together Sue Wilson designs but who was I kidding lol only you could do that (although I have a wonderful friend who also could pass as a Sue Wilson designer) as far as wonderful friends I also found someone that got me through really nasty pneumonia she approached me in our local A&E but whilst trying to take a breath all we spoke about was your blog, your designs and your dies lol we've been friends ever since. The friends I've made are very special sharing tears laughter and card ideas and life in general and it's all thanks to you. You and your blog has literally been a lifeline to many, Pam I'll always remember 'our Pam' so many recognisable names every day of every month of every year all here to see the next card. Your big heart has done something no other designer has done, the gifts you've given are the most special gift anyone could receive, if you're not special then I'm not Steph lol
15 fabulous years, we'd all love more very selfishly but it's time to visit Japan the only problem is we won't see a background made by you to help show us something you witnessed whilst on your visit of a lifetime. I'm also pleased your blog will remain for us to look back on it's been really useful at times, yet again you think of us, our needs now its time to think of your needs. Get online, get that special gift to yourselves booked and have a relaxing time before you think of all those people getting in line wanting your talent.
I must admit, thanks to Amazon, Temu and Shein my fear of *stolen* dies may attack the other designers that use to be under the umbrella of Creative Expressions.
So as we thank you for the past 15 years I send love, thanks and hugs for being you xxx
So sorry to read that this is your last post, Sue. Your card, as always, is beautiful, such a lovely colour combination. Thank you for all your inspiration and creativity over the years. I will miss visiting your blog and adding your wonderful dies to my collection. Enjoy your travels and I hope you get to all the places on your bucket list.

Dear Sue
ReplyDeleteWhat a card to finish your wonderful blog. I do appreciate the time you must have spent on your blog but it has been a true inspiration for me and I am so pleased you are not taking it down.
Thank you again for everything, I am sure following you in my early days of crafting has lead me to still be enjoying crafting today.
I hope you enjoy all your wonderful travels ahead and I never know you maybe still design for another company. I will certainly look out for you because the past eight years your festive dies in particular have been a feature in all the Christmas cards that I made.
Thank you again so much
My last time……..crafty hugs Michelle Stanley xxx

ReplyDeleteI haven’t visited your blog for a long time but Julia’s post was a shock to me. I have many of your dies from a long time ago and still have them though I do a lot less die cutting now. I was lucky enough to win several of your stamp prizes as well as a beautiful card. I wish you all the very best in your returement
ReplyDeleteHappy retirement Sue I’ve been following you for years so thanks for all your hard work and inspiration xx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post to end such a legendary journey. Will miss the posts and comments along with all the education you have shared. If you are retiring enjoy the new journey but live in hope you will get drawn back in by another company so you can share your wonderful creativity again. 🥰.
ReplyDeleteHope you will keep your blog live for continued inspiration if on only for a short time.
Thank you for all the years of inspiration. You were the one that got me into crafting with die cutting and the Grand Calibur . I remember you launching your own designs with Spellbinders (I still have those dies) before going on to launch your own range with Creative Expressions. What a collection I have !!!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a long and happy retirement and enjoy your trip to Japan when you get round to it. Crafty hugs xx
Gosh this is a shock, but I am not surprised theses cheap imports have a lot to answer for! I loved going to ally pally in London all the way from the midlands, and meeting you and Colin! John next door too and Julia watts and later on Lisa Horton. I love rubber necker stamps, I have a lot! I went to a few workshops in Kettering and had a great time! Lovely well laid out shop and great service so I wish all the staff there too good fortune and I hope you enjoy your retirement. You will be missed. Thanks for everything.
ReplyDeleteVery best wishes on your retirement! I have thoroughly enjoyed dipping in and out of your blog over the years and learnt a lot from you! Thank you so much!! Eva Henninger
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that this is your last post. It was your dies that really got me started on my crafty journey. However, I wish you a very happy retirement and thank you ! Grace Chaney x
ReplyDeleteDear Sue, Thank you for all the wonderful cards and ideas over the past 15 years. I have enjoyed opening up my computer every day to see your magnificent work. I'm sorry there will be no more inspiration and hope you enjoy your time off. Every time I couldn't think of an idea I would look through your cards and blog and be inspired. I met you once in Ally Pally and shortly after that you started bringing out your large dies for 8 inch cards. They were impossible to find before that as Spellbinders were the only company doing them and they had stopped. Now a days it is so hard to get decent quality card we have been reduced to 6 inch. Here in Ireland we are very deprived of craft stores and since Brexit getting stuff is much harder and very much more expensive. I loved Creative Expressions content which was always quality. I have missed seeing you on TV since 2020 and hope that some day you will return to crafting and designing. On another note, go to Japan you will love it, in spring or fall is best. I have been lucky enough to go there twice and still want to go back. The people are so nice and polite. The world would do better if we all behaved like them and not be so selfish. Thank you again. Good Luck. AON
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue for your years of amazing products and inspirations. I hope you have a fabulous time where ever you end up xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue, for all of your expertise and inspiration over the years. You have inspired so many crafters, and I used lots of your techniques in my classes, using your dies and products which people loved trying and seeing them using and sharing your techniques with fabulous results shows how wonderful they are.. I will miss your daily posts of beautiful cards.Thank you so much for allowing me to follow your wonderful crafting journey. I wish you a long and happy retirement. Jan Jay xx
