Put Another Candle On Your Birthday Cake
Hello there my crafty friends! I started with a piece of white card and taped the
Large Polka Dot stencil to it. I used small smoothies and Distress inks
to colour through the stencil in a diagonal manner. The background uses Tumbled Glass, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Spun
Sugar and Shaded Lilac. I cut the Lattice Background out of
white card and glued the Lattice die cut over the
stencilled background. I cut a thin white frame using the
Double Stitched Squares die set. I cut a wide white strip and glued it
diagonally across the back of the frame then added mounting foam to the back of
the frame and attached it over the background. I cut the birthday candles out of the
same colours of Distress ink (ink white card, then cut candles) that were used
on the stencil, then glued them along the
diagonal white strip of card and glittered the flames with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz. I cut the Put Another Candle sentiment
out of wisteria card, shadowed it with a black die cut sentiment and glued it to the
lower left corner of the card. I completed the card with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteOn this day of uncertainty in our country with strikes please everyone please stay safe.
Let's have a stay in and craft day lol our little fingers have been craft busy for months making all our festive projects but who would think of making such a brilliant fun birthday card like this? It's one that would take a while but the love shines through, and the best thing choose a different colour and it's perfect for a masculine card too.
So keep well, stay safe and have a good day xxx
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another stunning creations using the birthday candles, love all the colours, and would cheer anyone up on these dark and dismal days at the moment.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday everyone x
Oh yes please - absolutely love this. This is a ‘suitable for anyone’ type of card. The colours you have used are beautiful but I can imagine it in so many different shades. Match it with the recipients decor and it would most certainly stand out and have to take pride of place! Mind you, any of your cards are guaranteed to take that pride of place spot Sue x
Take care one and all x
Sending you all positive thoughts x

This is such a winner. Stencils, Distress ink and a fabulous die making up the background and the candles have the perfect sentiment to top the card off.
