Birthday Wishes
Hello crafters! I selected a piece of blue pixied card to use as the background for the card today. It was created using Midnight Blue and Purple Twilight Pixie Powders. I used the scalloped border from the Jewelled Scalloped Border die set and cut another piece of the blue card and used the scalloped edging die on the top and bottom edges. I used the scalloped border to also cut a black mat for the piece. I added mounting foam to the back to raise it. Using the Jewelled Scalloped Border, I cut two of them in white and attached them to the scalloped edges of the centre piece. I cut the Birthday Wishes Block sentiment in white and black. I used the words from the black die cut and pieced them back into the white die cut. I seated the block on to the decorative scalloped backing piece from the Just Because Block sentiment, then attached it to the centre of the card. I used the Jewelled Scalloped die and cut two scalloped pieces out of the leftover pixied card and glued them to the top and bottom of the centre section. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 9" in size. All for now, Sue x
Wow, I just love this gorgeous background in my favorite color!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Another I'd love to see in the real world, all pixied backgrounds look so amazing but I think the magic lies in the bottle of explosion I'd love to see 2 crafters with the same colours using the exact same amount of powders and water and watch the difference between the two backgrounds.
ReplyDeleteI love the effect that the block expression dies give, another beautiful card to ease us towards a new year of craft.
Love to all, keep well, warm and safe xxx

ReplyDeleteA beautiful card with your lovely pixie background. Yvonne xx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday everyone x
As you know - anything Pixied is a piece of me and this is no exception. The jewelled scalloped border always looks stunning but against the backdrop of the wonderful explosion of pixie colours it is taken to another level. Your block sentiments give such a lovely focal point to any card.
The midnight blue is probably my favourite pixie powder and I always have to make a conscious effort, when having a pixie session, to give all the other colours their turn.
Take care one and all x
Sending you all positive thoughts x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. What a great colour combination today, blues and white. Love the jewelled border. I also love the fact that the completed card looks so ornate but is actually quite easy to make.
