Follow Your Heart
Hello bloggers! I started by making a caught in crystal background. I used clear Cosmic lacquer on acetate then added some Beyond Blue and Teal Marine Pixie Sparkles to the mix. I gently moved the powder around (I used my finger to spread it), then covered it with a scrunched up piece of tissue paper and st it aside to dry. Once dry, I trimmed it to size. I used the Slimline Rectangle Frames and made a white frame for it. I decided to add a thinner frame to the centre so I used the Slimline Essential Frames to cut the black frame and glued it to the white frame. I added it to the background with mounting foam. I inked the Lace Heart Stampcut with Black Archival ink and ran it through the die cutting machine. I coloured it with Distress markers (Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass). I inked the die again and cut one more. I then coloured just the inside of it and handcut around the inner heart and added it on top of the first one. I added the heart die cut with foam to the left side of the card. I cut the Follow Your Heart in both white and black and used the white as the shadow underneath. I glued it to the right side of the card. The card was completed with white and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 4 3/4" x 9" in size. All for now. Sue x
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another gorgeous sample, I love the way you have done the background with the acetate etc., it gives a beautiful array of blues. The stampcut heart is such a beautiful creation and goes perfectly with the design with the sentiment to finish it off, brilliant.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday everyone x
Oh yes - caught in Crystal - love this technique. I spent many hours creating sheets and sheets of caught in crystal backgrounds. They are always so beautifully unique. Not one of them ever look the same even when using the exact same colours. I still have a small ‘batch’ of them in my stash x
Love today’s card. Blue is a favourite of mine, so much so that at one stage it dawned on me that every card I was making was blue. Nothing wrong with that I know but variety is the spice of life. Lol x
Sending you all happy thoughts x
