Hello Sweet Friend
Hello crafters! I started the background by painting Crackle Glaze all over a piece of black card. Once dry, I painted White Matt Chalk paint with a little bit of Chocolate Gold Metallic Lustre paint added to it. The matt chalk paint reacts with the crackle glaze and immediately starts to crackle. I used the edge of my scissors to ditress the edges of the card. I cut the Hello Sweet Friend out of white and black card and shadowed it then added a slate gray card backing to it. I used a bit of Antique Linen distress ink to the edges of the die cut . I cut the die again out of tan card and nipped away the birdhouses and glued them on top of the white die cut. Using the Moonlit Owl die set, I cut some branches out of tan card and used a Forest Moss distress markers to colour the leaves. I added the branches from under the edge of the die cut. The card was completed with white mats and layers. The finished dimendions are 7 1/4" x 9" in size. All for now, Sue x
Stunning card Sue, love it xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue, a really fantastic card this morning, love how the crackled piece looks like the peeling bark of a tree, brilliant background for the die cut. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a stunner again today, I don't know how you do it Sue, you have so many samples of all your dies and everyone one a masterpiece. Love all the detail in this one, it is amazing.

Hi Sue and all that visit.
ReplyDeleteThis is so very pretty, I know the crackle paint does much of the work but I still think it would look like a real mess if I was on the end of the brush, I just don't have that artistic flare but you certainly do and it's beautiful. I love your friendship panel its truly gorgeous, I feel I'm being very repetitious so there I stop. I hope everyone is safe after the overnight storm and throughout the day as its still raging out there !!
Love to all xxx
Morning Sue.

Hi Sue. What a really good idea to use crackle paste for the background and, of course, I can do crackle paste now after some guidance from a lady called Sue Wilson. Thank you :-)

ReplyDeleteOoh, I love the crackle effect - but, when it's done, is it stable, or does the card peel and splinter? It looks as though it could leave scraps everywhere!

Very beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteNice to see the creativity in this article. The combination of Crackle Glaze, White Matt Chalk and Chocolate Gold Metallic Luster creates a beautiful and unique backdrop. The use of Antique Linen anti-stress ink around the die-cut edges gives the finished product a touch of vintage charm. While it's always nice to be practical and create these wonderful pieces of art on your own, for those who don't have the time or resources, it's nice to know that New York City has the professional services of this painting company that can bring your vision to life.
