Hello crafters! I started by using some Fire Red Glitter Kiss and applying it to a piece of red card and allowing it to dry. Next I cut the Christmas Big Bold Word out of it. I added the outline to the backing piece which I cut in white (I kept the fall away letters for another card.) I cut the Christmas die again but this time it was out of a piece of red and white striped decorative paper I had in my stash. I paper pieced the letters into the glittered outline. I embossed apiece of white card with the Falling Snow embossing folder. Using the Double Stitched Rectangles, I made a multi-layered frame and added it over the embossed background I added the Christmas word with mounting foam to the inside of the frame. I cut the Poinsettia Flourish and Corner out of both white and red card twice. I nipped away the poinsettia in the red die cut and glued it to the white corners, then added them in opposite corners of the card. I completed the card with white and red mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. I wouldn't necessarily associate red and white stripes with Christmas until I read the other comments saying that it reminded them of candy cane! This card would certainly stand out against all the others on the mantelpiece.

This card is cheerful! That’s the word that popped into my head as soon as I saw it. It reminds me of candy canes at Santa’s Workshop and the pointsettia with the white filigree creates the finishing touch.
