Hello crafters! I am trying out a new colour of Glitter Kiss on today's card. While it looks rather dark in the pictures unfortunately, it is a really lovely rich wine colour in real life and quite beautiful (better in the close ups) too! I used the
Garnet Glitter Kiss to cover a piece of card and allowed it to dry thoroughly. I cut it in half and used the
Quilted Heart embossing folder on it. I cut it on the diagonal and embossed a piece of white card with the same folder. I lined up the pattern on the two, then added a thin white strip across the two sections. Using the
Camilla die, I cut the outline out of the leftover piece of the Glitter Kiss card. I also cut the solid flowers from the
Striped Nasturtiums. I cut the
Camilla die again out of white card and glued it to the backing piece. I stamped my sentiment then cut a small frame for it out of the
Double Stitched Circles. I added the frame over the sentiment with foam, then glued it into the centre of the
Camilla die, I attached it to the upper portion of the card. I cut the striped die from the
Striped Nasturtiums and glued them onto the solid ones and assembled two flowers. I seated them along the border and added
Magnolia Corner cut into pieces as accents. I cut the
To A Dear Friend sentiment twice out of white card and stacked them, then glued them to the lower portion of the card. The card was completed with white mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 7 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough of the quilted hearts EF. It's beautiful. Thanks for your tip regarding a thin piece of card to hide the join. I would probably have used lots more nasturtium flowers and produced an overcrowded card. That's why we love you Sue! Love the colours. Who wouldn't delight in receiving a card as lovely as this?
Hugs xxx Pauline
Hi Sue, a beautiful card and the Garnet Glitter Kiss is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteFrances
The first picture shows the colour as black and white and looks stunning. Whilst the true colour is lovely, I think I prefer the black and white. Bu there, that’s my love of monochrome!

Virtually no internet reception for the past 12 days has meant little opportunity to comment whilst I have been away (isolated on a small hill in Warwickshire with hardly any mobile phone reception and the slowest internet since the days of dial-up!)
ReplyDeleteSo this is an opulent card to come back to. Love the rich colour of this glitter kiss.
Teresa
Hi Sue. You can see the colour much better in the close-ups and I would have to agree that it is rather yummy. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sue

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteNice card with unusual colour of glitter kiss. Like the tip about the strip of card to disguise the join.

I love the Garnet Glitter Kiss Sue, sets off the embossing design!! Wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteI do like these half and half cards, the contrast with the white is really striking. The garnet is beautiful (also my birthstone!) and would be a great colour for Christmas cards too.

Two days for the Nasturtium....we all love them. I know, I am a day late for this post. Sometimes I see on Instagram and forget to post here if that makes sense. Nothing makes sense lately.
ReplyDeleteThis card is beautiful beyond the flowers. I love the sentiment which I do have and the Glitter Kiss looks good on that embossing folder...even dark.
Have a good & safe day to everyone,
Stephanie K
