For You

Good Sunday Morning all!   I have a pretty gilding flake card to share today.  I started with a piece of card and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing paper off and added Sunlight Speckle Gilding Flakes to it.  I used a piece of Rubit Scrubit pad to move the flake all over the sticky area and then to refine and remove any excess flake.  Next I cut four of the Claire die in white.  I glued the dies to the card working from the centre outwards and trimmed away the excess even with the edge of the card.  I cut the centres of the Eliza die set four times in white and added those to the centres of the Claire dies and trimmed them even with the edge.  Next I cut the centre in Antique Silver and backed it in white and cut the centre out.  I added mounting foam and added it to a white backing piece then glued it in the centre of the card.  I gilding an extra small piece and cut the For You sentiment out of it, then glued it in the centre of the circle frame.  I added pearls and completed the card with white  and silver mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  7" in size.   All for now. Sue x

  5. Hi Sue and HAPPY St DAVIDS DAY to any Welsh friends on the blog.
What can I say Sue, what a fabulous beautiful homecoming. Can you imagin how happy the recipient of this beauty would be, I'd be smiling all day and it would have to be mounted into a glass fronted frame box so I could appreciate the shine from the flakes when the evening light meets it. I'll go over those samples and video later that I couldn't enjoy in detail whilst doing nanny duties. However your day pans out have a lovely one xxx

  23. Morning Sue. I do love these dies but although I can see from everyone's comments all love the card, I am not too sure about it. I think I am not too keen on the white card against the gold - sorry.

Loving this grouping of the Claire die over the Sunlight Speckle Gilding Flakes. I noticed you did not glue the Claire die cuts onto the sticky adhieve sheet before adding the flakes as you have been doing. Is this because of the delicate areas on the Claire die cuts?

  35. I really like the Claire die and the repetition of the die on your card. It’s so pretty!
