It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Good Sunday morning all!  I really like this simple Christmas card design, I hope you do too!  I started by cutting the Ruffled Edged Christmas Frame into a piece of coconut white card.  I backed it with a sticky adhesive sheet and another piece of coconut white card.  I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz on the remaining exposed adhesive for a bit of bling.  Next, I used the Triple Layered Christmas tree die and cut three of them.  I used Khaki green card for the top layer, a lighter shade of green (from my stash) for the middle layer and white for the bottom layer.  I attached them to the card slightly overlapping, then added a gold star to the top of the lower tree.  Using the It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year sentiment cut out of antique gold card, I glued several together and added it to the upper portion of the card.  The card was completed with white and gold mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.

Time for another question!  Given the season, I thought it would be appropriate to ask what is your favourite Christmas song (or two)?   Can't wait to see what you say!  All for now Sue x

  1. Hi Sue. There's that Ruffled Edge again and I'm thrilled to say I'm now a proud owner as from last week, it makes the perfect 'border' for the majority of your designs as today's inspiration shows, a beauty way to start out Sunday whilst we keep our Australian friends in our thoughts.
A favourite festive song - that's a tricky one as I'm absolutely useless at remembering song titles until I hear them lol. Last Christmas by the latest George Michael is one, and I know I have a couple more that a lot of us here will choose only then will it kick start my memory lol.
Whatever your plans for today hope it's a lovely day xxx

Another lovely card Sue and hard to believe that by this time next week Christmas will be over and a New Year, even a New Decade will be just around the corner. I wonder what you have in store for us.
getting back to today's card, I like the positioning of the trees that shows them off so well.

I have to say that I don't listen to music much any more because of my deafness but Bing Crosby singing White Christmas would be my first choice.
    Have a great day.

One of my favourite songs is Driving Home For Christmas. I always think of our troops and soldiers on their way home to see their families. My Son was in the army for 25 years and he told me he used to sing this while travelling home on Christmas leave. What's yours Sue. I love your little questions where we can all join in.
Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them this morning. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

  26. Really lovely card and a good one for batch making.

My favourite Christmas song is Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea. It reminds me of my years spent living in Ireland but I would always come home to my family in Wales for Christmas and play that song on the way. We’re back in Wales permanently now but my hubby still works in Ireland so when I pick him up from the airport on the last Friday before Christmas I play it then too!

Have a very merry Christmas Sue, I look forward to increasing my collection of dies in 2020!

  29. Hi Sue, I love this clean and crisp card with just a bit of bling, beautiful.

I love almost all Christmas songs and find it very hard to narrow it down but here goes.
Of modern songs I like Fairytale in New York by the Pogues & Kirsty MacColl and Last Christmas by George Michael. Traditional carols - O Little Town of Bethlehem and Silent Night, but I think my overall favourite has to be White Christmas by Bing Crosby as Christmas doesn't start for me until I have watched the film!

  37. Hi Sue. What a lovely Christmas card again today. I really must learn to stop trying to put as much as I can onto my cards as you have proved that the simpler cards are so much more classy.

One of my favourite Christmas songs has got to be Good King Wenceslas as he was King of Bohemia and as both my parents were from old Czechoslovakia I will always have a soft spot for this one.

  39. Hello Sue,

The Ruffled Edged Christmas Frame is such a beautiful die set and provides the perfect frame for any card whether it is cut into the card or out of the card. It looks lovely glittered here framing your little trees and sentiment.

I think my favorite Christmas song is "When A Child Is Born" performed by Michael Ball and "O Holly Night."

One of the things I do on Christmas Day is to go to the hospital where I worked for so many years and give Christmas cards I have made throughout the year using your beautiful dies to those patients who have no family or visitors on Christmas Day. It's such a humbling experience that something so small can bring a smile to someone's day.

    Have a wonderful day.

My absolute favourite song at Christmas is “All I want for Christmas is you” by Mariah Carey. Coming in at a very close second is Don Estelle’s Christmas album. His voice was divine. Sadly missed.
I also love Oh Holy Night sung by a Welsh men’s voice choir. Stunning.
