For You

Good Sunday morning all!  I started with a piece of card that I covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing off and coated it with Gemstones Gilding Flakes.  I used a rubitscrubit pad to move the flakes all over the card and refine and remove the excess flakes.  I embossed it with the Ribbon Swirls embossing folder for texture.  For the focal element, I cut the Vivian die out of another piece of card that I added more gilding flakes to in the same manner  I backed the die cut with a white card backing and added the black edge to it using the two outer dies in the Vivian set.  I added mounting foam to the back and added it to the centre of the card.  I cut the centre of the die in white and added a black backing to it then layered it up in the middle.  I used the For You sentiment in black and glued it to a white Pierced Flag die and added it across the centre of the card.  Using the Striped Nasturtiums, I cut the solid flowers out of a remaining piece of the gilded card and added white outlines over the top.  I seated the flower to the left side of the sentiment flag and added Lace Edged leaves as accents in white.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  6 3/4" in size.    All for
now, Sue x

    Good morning Sue.
As I started to read the blog I realised that we all expect you to work every day of the week don't we? Maybe you have a ghost writer for when you have a break. However, enough of the speculation, your blog is what gets me out of bed in the mornings and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Thank you for today's card which is lovely. I didn't realise that you could emboss after adding the gilding flakes but it works doesn't it.
    Have a great day.

  18. Good Morning Sue.This is stunning and I agree with MARIE.P. I didn't know you could do that either....you have opened up another aspect to my crafting...And I can't wait to have a try out with it. Thankyou.

Sue please can I thank everyone who sent their condolences and sympathy wishes to myself and my family on the loss of my lovely brother. We said our final goodbyes on Friday. This is why I was missing the comments during last week...I now have to pull myself together and get back to some sort of normal...And having this wonderful blog family will be the start of exactly that.. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them this morning. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

  19. Morning Sue,
You never cease to amaze us with your inspiration. Like Ann and Marie, I didn't think that EF and gilding flakes went together. Part of my concern was that they might clog up my machine. (Just goes to show what a messy crafter I am). However, I'm going to give it a whirl, so thank you Sue. Lovely card. Hugs xx Pauline
