Hello all! Not your usual Christmas colours, but I really like this one! I started by cutting the Pretty Poinsettia Frame out of coconut white card. I lined it up right next to the original cut and cut it a second time. I used my scissors to nip away the centre area, creating a larger frame. I glued it to a piece of Old Rose card. Next I used the Antique Rose Glitter Kiss and coated a piece of card with it and allowed it to dry. I cut the frame out of it twice and saved the flower fall away pieces. I paper pieced them back into the frame using glue to secure them in place. I cut the Season's Greetings sentiment out of a section of it too, then added the words to the shadow cut in white. I offset the words in the centre of the frame. I made a multi-layered frame using the Double Stitched Rectangles with a wider white frame on the bottom and a thin Old Rose frame added on top. The card was completed with white and old rose mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hello Sue, a really lovely Christmas Card, contemporary colour way, but I like it a lot. Have a good day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue it may not be a traditional festive card but is it? I have a festive birthday and I'd be thrilled to receive a beauty like this, as far as the colour goes my mind can see this in Aqua with lots and lots of frosty glitter lighting up the room, apart from the religious kind is there a traditional card anymore?
ReplyDeleteI love it xxx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteA Christmas card in a modern colour will suit many people, everything has not got to be
traditional.

Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteBeautifully different Christmas card, really stands out. I love the poinsettia frame but haven’t managed to use it yet, another couple of weeks and hopefully I can make SW Christmas cards to my hearts content. The glitter kiss is a fabulous medium to use and although I really like this colour way, like Steph, I can see it in aquas too, the all a time favourite

ReplyDeleteHi Sue this is a stunning card. I love it. Those dies are gorgeous. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteHello Sue. I think when you make a Christmas card in non-traditional colours it gives such a contemporary feel which is helped by the Poinsettia Frame die (incidentally this is one of my favourites!)
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
This is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI prefer to name this die a flower frame because it can look lovely in all kinds of colours and isn't just for Christmas. Pretty card. Thank you. Hugs xx Pauline
Your Rose card Poinsettia frame design is beautiful. Personally I love the rose color. Your rose color reminds me of my favorite Christmas trees that I decorated in past years. I decorated my trees with Victorian ornaments in rose, cream, burgundy and gold.
ReplyDeleteI love that you used the rose paper on this card. I think it has a lovely feel to it. Very striking card.
ReplyDeleteStephanie K
Lovely card and I like this “softer” version of colours Sometimes red can a bit stark
ReplyDeleteLove this card Sue, very eye catching!!!

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a lovely card and I do like the contemporary feel to it. I love the colour of the old rose card and your frame dies that can be extended so cleverly. As others before me I think it would look great in other colours for any birthday throughout the year.
ReplyDeleteFrances

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteNot a traditional design or colors but certainly is a lovely card. By changing the sentiment, you could used this for almost any occasion as the flowers could be daisies and not poinsettia. Like the larger size.
Have a great day.
Beverly
Yes, not the traditional colors for a Christmas card but still a lovely card.
