For You

Good Sunday morning all!  Today's card is Arctic blue, white and silver.  I started with a piece of Arctic Blue card and taped the Crisscross mask to it.  I used Silver Chrome Glitter Kiss through it, then set it aside and allowed it to dry.  At the same time, I coated a piece of white card with more Silver Chrome Glitter kiss and set it aside to dry as well.  I cut three of the centre decorative circles from the Eliza die out of white card.  Once dry, I cut three circles out of my Silver Chrome piece and glued them to my Eliza circles, then cut the centres out of them.  I added mounting foam to each of them, then mounted them diagonally across my background.  I cut a white Pierced Flag die and then seated it coming out of the centre circle.  I cut the For You sentiment from the silver chrome piece and glued it to the flag die.  With the remaining silver chrome piece, I cut enough of the solid die from the Striped Nasturtium set to create three different sized flowers.  I cut the striped piece from Arctic Blue card and glued them together.  I seated the flowers in opposite corners and added some white Fern Fronds as accents.  The card was completed with white, arctic blue and slate grey mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, wow this is amazing, lots of glitter on this one, when I first saw the picture and your description, I thought well where is the arctic blue, but when you see the close ups you can just make it out, talk about a trick of the light. I suspect this is better in real life, so to speak, it is still amazing, and I love the circles which set it off perfectly..

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  3. Good morning /afternoon Sue. If you didn't give us the low down on the tools and does used on your samples it would be impossible to separate a mask background to a die background as both are so perfect, I couldn't imagine that if I attempted to do a mask background it would take several attempts to perfect it until is was good enough to use but your backgrounds are perfect with not a smudge in sight, which gives a beautiful base to build on. The Eliza circles make such a beautiful sample, I'd like to say CAS but when you tie in the floral and leaf elements with the gorgeous glitter kiss it goes from CAS to extremely elegant. Either way it's perfect. I still have many anniversary dies to break the seal on but the heat has zapped every inch of energy, and along with your inspiration, the beautiful vellum I now have (thanks Ann) and beautiful glitter paper (thanks Tina) I can't wait to get crafting again.
Whatever your plans for today I hope it's a happy one xxx

  8. Hi Sue
Ooh yes. Beautiful frosty cool colours.
The nasturtiums - a welcome blast from the past. These were my absolute go to/use all the time flowers when you launched them. Nearly every card I made was adorned with nasturtiums. Love all your floral dies but there’s just something about these that had me hooked!
The glitter kiss is wonderful used through the mask. Seen it done - never tried it. Only ever used texture paste or ink. Another thing to add to my crafting to do list (a very long list).
    Yes, I love today’s card x
Today is promising to be a much more comfortable temperature. Mid 20’s much more bearable than the 32 of yesterday. Mind you I did get a mountain of washing dry - every cloud!
    Happy Sunday everyone

Hi Sue, just back from a long, windy walk along the Coastal path hence the reason I am late in commenting on today's card, which, I might add, is another stunner.
Thank you for explaining your techniques so simply.
I love using my nasturtium die too. Lovely to see how you adapt them in your designs. Hugs xx Pauline
