Hello crafters! Today's card uses up some of the little bits left over from some caught in crystal technique, waste not want not, right? I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card using the Tulip Twist embossing folder. Next I cut the Hexagonal Border die in black and cut away the side scallops using my paper cutter. I glued it to the lower portion of the card. Next I cut the Rose Flower Square in white and attached it to a white backing with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet attached. I cut it again using my left over caught in crystal (yellow and red crystal tints an some gold holographic glitter added to it). I paper pieced the rose with the pieces. Next I cut the die in a small bit of green pixie powdered piece to get the leaf area. I paper pieced that into place. I sprinkled Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz into the remaining exposed adhesive areas, added a thin black mat and then a slightly larger Double Stitched Square mat. I added it to the top of the card with foam. I cut the Just Because sentiment in black and glued it below the border. White and Black card mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
Such a beautiful, bright card card to start the day. A wonderful way to use up some of those bits and pieces of card you have made.
ReplyDeleteHello Sue, this card is just awesome, love the paper pieced effect, always so interesting and tactile. Have a great day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. This is absolutely gorgeous. I was so lucky to be chosen to receive this die at launch, for a tiny die it packs in so much beauty, as yet I've not made a card but cut several in different colours and lots of white to go with my Pixie backgrounds, so I look forward to seeing if I can create something to be proud of. Looking forward to the 24th too ☺
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day whatever your plans xxx

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful rose from a beautiful lady. The caught in crystal technique that you have used for the rose makes it look real. The colors are beautiful and the Glitterbitz just show it off perfectly. I love the octagonal border and have used it numerous times. It looks great cut down as you have shown hear. Another winner.
Have a great Saturday. I'm waiting for the snow to arrive this afternoon.
