Hi crafters! Still more Christmas cards to share on the run up to the big day, but I really liked this Fire and Ice sample. I started by cutting the frame from the Mosaic Bauble die set in black. I covered the front of it with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet, then turned it over and gilding the back with Summer Meadow Gilding Flakes. I used a piece of Rubit Scrubit pad to refine the flakes and remove the excess. Next I peeled the other side of the backing paper off of the front of the card and sprinkled it with Iced Snow, then trimmed away the excess. I added mounting foam to the back to raise it. Next I cut the Poinsettia Lattice Background out of white card. I backed it with white card then seated the frame over it. I cut one more of the Lattice Poinsettia die in white and hand cut the five poinsettias out. I used spray glue on them , then glittered them with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz and added them back over the originals in the background after forming them and adding pearls to the centres. I cut the Tis The Season sentiment in black and glued it to the centre of the card. The card was completed with White and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
Morning Sue.

Morning Sue. It's so lovely to see more festive samples for inspiration I'm struggling to get to the end of my order, with 4 first birthday cards thrown into the mix I'm panicking. Now if all the required cards had been so beautiful as this I'd be a happy bunny, easy to work with, and a stunning end result, but 4 Gingerbread 'family' Lisa's Cute Santa all with tiny pieces to cut multiple times then struggle to hold them to place them properly has been an absolute nightmare and I'm absolutely shattered both mentally and physically lol, so it's relaxing to start my day the Sue way and admire these gorgeous samples you give us before I head back to the world of madness, I'm surprised my machine hasn't blown up and I go to bed with the dulcit sounds of whirring in my head lol. Sending many thanks for the daily inspiration I get every day xxx

ReplyDeleteGood morning all. I'm rushing this morning to finish my last 3 cards for Canada as I have a friend coming to take me to the post office I dread to think of the cost for postage on 20 cards,
ReplyDeleteYour gift to us this morning of fire and ice is very different from your trade-mark cards and to my own surprise I'm not quite sure about it. At least I won't be frantically adding more and more to my wish list.
Have a peaceful day everyone.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. What a really striking card today. It has got everything I love on it. I am always drawn to card that contain black, but lots of people that I send cards to don't really like it (some people just have no taste)

I must admit to having the Mosaic Bauble Die and only using the border (this year...) but it is truly a wonderful border that I have used on both Christmas and a special congratulations card too. The baubles are also beautiful and will be one for 2019. I just had more cards made than needed (having so much fun making).
ReplyDeleteStephanie C., take a deep breath. You will do everything you need to do.
Everyone, have a good day,

Hi Sue, I love the design of this card but the mosaic frame (which I love using) is showing up as quite dark on my screen and it is hard to see the beauty of the die and the gilding flakes. I'm sure that it looks stunning IRL, just not on the computer.
