Hello crafters! I have a white on white Christmas card (with just a touch of silver added) to share today. I started by cutting the Poinsettia Lattice Background into a piece of coconut white card. I moved the die along to create a larger background area and cut it again. I left a wide border around it. Next I cut away a large portion of the poinsettia pattern with scissors to open up an area for my sentiment and allow the glitter from behind to show through. I followed the floral pattern along the side and bottom of the frame working around it. I glued a piece of acetate to the back of the background. Next I covered a piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet and coated it with Iced Flake. I attached the poinsettia background over it. I cut the Swirled Silent Night twice, once out of silver mirror card and once out of black. I used the black die cut as a shadow behind the silver one, then glued it in place in the open area of the background. I made three vellum poinsettias and seated them in opposite corners as accents. The card was completed with white, silver and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 3/4" in size. All for now. Sue x

ReplyDeleteOh WOW Sue such beauty and delicacy, white on white is always a favourite and I think you were the first designer to bring tone on tone to card making ? This whole design is magical and even though it's stunning to look at on screen I can imagine in true life the sparkle is something else. Reading how you gingerly snipped away at this pretty framework, coated the background with beautiful sparkle the time, patience and love you put into today's piece it's all so worth it to show us this amazing festive sample. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you share with us. May you have an enjoyable day xxx

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteWOW, how beautiful. Tone on tone is a favorite of mine and this one is so pretty and delicate. a real heavenly delight. I like the way you have cut away part of the background in the Poinsettia Background frame to expose the glittered flake, it must really sparkle through the acetate.
Have a wonderful day.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful You can’t beat white on white Perfect for Christmas but also for so many other occasions
ReplyDeleteBeautiful x
ReplyDeleteVery pretty :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter Christmas card done mostly in white on white. The fairly large Iced Flake glitter makes a cool statement as an easy to see and sparkly background. You make me smile when you show how you get various sizes and looks by extending your die cuts and/or snipping bits and pieces away to make a completey different design. When you design your dies, you are so good to us crafters to consider various ways your dies can be used giving us terrific value for our money. "A win, win!"
ReplyDeleteSo delicate and so pretty...thank you Sue...white on white is always so beautiful to me...luv Ursula xx
