Hi crafters! I have been having a play with some gilding polish for today's card! I started by cutting the Abigail die into the card twice in a diamond orientation. I overlapped them in the centre so there was so over cut area that needed to be covered. I backed it in black so the design would show up nicely. Next I cut the Claire die out of black card and backed it in white. I used Golden Treasure gilding polish on a piece of card, allowed it a few minutes to dry well then cut the outer decorative shape from the Claire die and glued it on top. I seated it in the centre of the card, covering up the over cut area created by the Abigail die. I cut the circle for the centre of the card and used the gilding polish lightly around the edge to frame the Thank you mini expression, which I cut in black and glued into the centre. I used the remainder of the card that I added gilding polish to in order to cut the flowers. I used the Striped Nasturtiums for this. I cut the coordinating decorative top out of black card. I glued them all together then offset them and seated them around in opposite corners. I used white Fern Fronds as accents. White and black card was used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see a posting featuring your latest die release. Striking and dramatic is how I would describe this beauty done in black and gold. The gilding polish really accentuates the Claire die and the flowers are stunning. The Claire and the Abigail die sets are two of my favorites from this release.
Have a wonderful day.

Treasure Gold gilding polish is the best there is as it doesn't dry out unlike Cosmic Shimmer.
I have had mine for years and it's still creamy.

Hi Sue, a beautiful card and a clever way to use gilding polish. The Golden Treasure is such a rich colour and is missing from my stash - I will have to rectify that very soon. I think Marie P and maybe some others are confusing Gilding Polish and Gilding Wax, perhaps you could demonstrate the differences some time? I love the newer polishes but still occasionally go back to the waxes mainly for a particular colour.
ReplyDeleteFrances
Hi Sue, such a lovely card today. I love how you have used the dies and the gilding polish just finishes it off beautifully.
