Hello there my crafty friends! Antique Gold, white and a touch of black for today's offering. I started by cutting white and gold strips of card (about 3/4" wide) and attaching them to a piece of copy paper (so it wouldn't be too thick). Next I embossed it with the Ice Crystals embossing folder for texture. I matted that piece with a thin white and a thin black mat. Next I cut the Natalie die out of antique Gold card. I cut two of the Overlay and ornament die in white and added them to the sides behind the Natalie die. I used the inner cutting dies to cut the centre for my sentiment and create a thin black frame as an accent. I backed this section in white to show off the detail. I reversed shadowed the sentiment in white and cut it out of black gloss card, glued them together slightly offset and attached it to the centre of the frame. White, black and gold mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteIsn’t Natalie a star !! I am so glad that is the one frame I chose from the last release and it has been so handy, the three cutting frames allow for great shadows in the focal element and the outside decorative piece is just gorgeous. Your choice of colours makes it look so rich - love the embossing on the stripes too,
Hugs

ReplyDeleteLove the way you do these stripes such a useful way use the excess when we have been making square cards; and though I do not like a lot of black in cards I do like the accent of black used like this. All adds up to a stunning card.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteWOW. Such a classy card to begin the week. I much prefer the antique gold to the very bright and sometimes brassy gold card that we can buy. Although I do like to add highlights with the latter, on occasions.
The colours really show Natalie off to perfection.
Hugs xx Pauline in S.A.

It is a truly beautiful card. I am saving a collection of your blog postings to show my Daughter who lives in Wisconsin. She is an Activity Director in a large Care Home and she and her Husband are coming to me for a visit in 5 days time. I will most certainly be adding this posting to my list.
