Good Sunday morning all! It's a shaker card for today's inspiration (you are supposed to pretend it's a champagne bottle!). I started by cutting the bottle die from the Message In A Bottle set and creating an aperture in a piece of milk card. I used the outer cutting edges for the bottle to cut a thick black frame for it. Next I prepared the bottle to be put into the card by filling it with clear glass drops (from my stash) and covering the bottle shape by adding glue to the lip and covering it with acetate. I allowed that to dry overnight, then taped it into place in my aperture opening. Next I cut two of the Champagne glass from the Champagne Flute die set. I used Cosmic Lacquer to make them look like they had fluid in them. I cut two black outlines and used them as shadows before adding them to the card. I cut two of the bows from the Happy Easter Fillable set and coated them with Cosmic lacquer and allowed them to dry, then added them to the glasses. I cut the I Do sentiment twice, once in milk card and once in black. I shadowed it then added it above the glasses. I ran double sided tape around the edge of a slightly larger piece of black card and coated it with Ebony Ice glitter then added the above piece on top. Milk card and black card mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteThank you a great card.
Take care and have fun Kitty.
I'm the first! :D ...No sleep this night :(
ReplyDeleteFun and elegant card in black and white! Love the shaker bottle with the clear glass drops, and the glasses look great with the laquer and the shadows! The black glittered panel adds a beautiful festive feel!
Have a lovely day!
Hi Sue. I'm loving the colour scheme, the shadowing and the celebration flutes, but the bottle ? Hmmmm - sorry Sue, and please don't be offended I really get it honestly I do but it kind of resembles a milk bottle, time for me to duck before someone starts to throw things at me lol. Have a good day ☺ xxx
ReplyDeleteHello Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and festive card that would work well for any type of celebration. And the fact that is't a shaker card is even better. I like how you have used the Cosmic Lacquer for your liquid and the clear glass drops in your bottle.
Have a fabulous day.
Beverly
Cute card and a little different from usual engagement or wedding cards.
ReplyDeleteHello Sue,
ReplyDeleteI'm inclined to agree with Steph about the bottle. Sorry. I love the cosmic lacquer for the liquid in the glasses and your glass drops for the bubbles.

Hello Sue, nice card for celebration and like how you've done the glasses with lacquer. Xx
ReplyDeleteI like the concept but I sadly have to agree with Steph, maybe the bottle could be coloured with the green lacquer because I do love the glass bubbles and the liquid in the glasses, definitely a great idea xxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteA lovely card.

Fabulous card Sue xx hazel
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue Lovely card the glass beads in the bottle look great but the bottle looks rather heavy if you know what I mean!
ReplyDeleteWow what a stunning shaker card Sue, hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteHello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteI really like the glasses and always have liked the I do, such a great style but yes, slightly odd bottle, not a Moët. Would love the card with glasses of either the liquid as you have it or even shaker in the glasses with those fabulous glass beads.
Hugs

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteWonderful card.

Great card today although the bottle doesn’t look quite right for a champagne bottles-think it’s due to the wide neck not that I’m an expert on Champagnes!!

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a stunning keepsake card today and a shaker to boot, you spoil us.
ReplyDeleteI very much like this, and also the way you have cut round the outside of the die in black to provide a back frame for the bottle.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Morning Sue, beautiful card, love the bubbles and the glasses! Love Jean xxx
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue. Beautiful Wedding Card Sue. But I have to agree with everyone else about the bottle. It reminds me of a baby bottle. I would make this one with only that one change. Sue please don't offended. Thankyou Sue. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue,
ReplyDeleteGreat card, a keepsake.

Hello Sue, a fabulous card as a greeting for a very modern couples wedding. Love the bottle with the clear drops. Have a good day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue - the bottle may not be quite the right shape but the card is stunning and I love the use of the acetate and lacquer - it looks very realistic. Sending best wishes

Lovely card, love the glass beads. Hugs MERRY BERRY 2 xxx
ReplyDeleteMy initial reaction to this card is that I cannot pretend or imagine this bottle as a champagne bottle but more for milk! You could get away with it as a baby’s bottle but it looks rather heavy for a wedding card, in my opinion. Nice idea but it doesn’t work for me as a card for which it is intended. Sorry!

Morning Sue,

Hi Sue, a lovely card. A great idea even if the bottle does not look like a champagne bottle.
ReplyDeleteCute idea :)
ReplyDeleteLovely shaker card but woul probably stack the glasses and omit the bottle.
ReplyDeleteDo like the 'I do' sentiment though. Hugs xx Pauline in S.A.
Hi Sue, a great design but one that seems to have fallen a bit flat for most of us. Love the use of Cosmic Lacquer to highlight the bows and put liquid in the glasses and also love the glass beads pretending to be bubbles but by no stretch of my imagination can I see a champagne bottle, I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteFrances
It’s a great concept but unfortunately I can’t see a champagne bottle It’s a beer bottle BUT in the “flesh” it might look very different
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Great idea for what is a very elegant card except for the champagne bottle which is a bit too chunky for me.
