Good Sunday morning all! Today's cards is featuring one of the matching
Stamps To Die For that coordinates with the Heather die. I started by embossing the background with the
Swirly Heart embossing folder. Next I cut the
Poppy die in black and backed in a deep dusty rose (from my stash). I seated that horizon tally across the background. Next I stamped and cut out the
Heathers Wild Flowers stamp and used
Distress inks to colour it. I decided to leave the background and just colour the flowers and leaves and the tiny edge all the way around. I added it to the centre of the card with foam and used the
Get Well sentiment in the middle. I used the
Passion Flowers as accents in the opposite corners and added a bow and leaves too. One, rose and black mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now. Sue x

ReplyDeleteHello Sue,
ReplyDeleteAnyone would feel better receiving this card, it's such a lovely design and color. It's always nice to see the stamps being combined with the die cuts, it gives a totally different feel to the card. They are so underused.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

Morning Sue. I feel better already thanks to this beautiful design. Everything fits so perfectly together, but there again that's what the Sue Wilson brand stands for. You can reach for any die from any of the collections you've bought to us over the year's and they all go so perfectly with each other. You've given us some gorgeous inspiration the past week ending with this beauty that with a change of sentiment can be used for many celebratory occasions or just to send to say "Hi" or "Thinking of You" a really versatile collection of dies and design. Have a lovely day keeping up with the CE shows and Lisa xxx
ReplyDeleteHi sue,

Isn’t it funny how we issue an order when someone is ill. Get well! We say. Like they wouldn’t have thought of it. Oh, I know, it’s a lovely sentiment because it conveys our care and good wishes for the person who’s under the weather.
ReplyDeleteThat hearts embossing folder sure does come in handy for lots of cards. I guess because what we’re usually sending is love.
So when you color with Distress, does that mean you swipe your pad across your glass/craft mat and use a watercolor brush to pick up the color and apply it to your flowers?
I had the nicest times this weekend organizing my nonSW stamps and dies into page protectors inside zippable binders. Gonna need more page pockets and zippable binders
I keep my Sue Wilson treasures, filed by range on their sides like patient folders in a doctor’s office, in two of those decorated boxes with a magnetic flap in the lid. I think I might need to start a new box just for Christmas. Although many of the Festive dies aren’t just for Christmas anymore.
I hope you have a lovely day and week, Sue and Wilsonettes.
Best, Donita
A lovely card Sue but I am afraid this topper is one of less than a handful of the stamps that I do not like. Sure others love it but just not to my taste.
ReplyDeleteHugs Helen xx
Hi sue I was feeling a bit low before I got this’s beautiful card from you love the die and the flowers my favs are so pretty thank you sue love always June Horrocks xxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue and all the lovely Wilsonettes.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card and the sentiment is very appropiate at the moment. I had a grocery order delivered last evening, fell over one of the baskets and sustained quite a nasty skin tear on my leg. Thank you for your Get well card lol.
It really is a pretty card and would lend itself to other sentiments wouldn't it.

Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA very pretty feminine card today & one that would suit many occasions. I would also put this card in a frame with no sentiment& use it as home decor. Yvonne xx

Morning Sue
ReplyDeleteLove this card. It would lend itself to many occasion. The colours you have chosen are gorgeous.
I do own many of your stamps but they tend to be forgotten. They make such a beautiful focal point and my good intentions of putting them to good use when I see a card like this disappear very quickly with the distractions of every day life!
Donita I am with you. I am always trying to gain the upper hand with my craft stash and usually fail. However I always take more care with my precious ‘Sue treasure’.
I know it isn’t to do with craft but was wondering if anyone was feeling cheery and bright after the return of ‘Strictly’ last night? I certainly smiled my way through the programme.
Ok that’s me! Happy Sunday everyone x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card. Like others I have quite a few of your stamps but do seem to forget about them.
Love Helen xxx
Hi Sue, an attractive and slightly different 'Sue' card today. I like the way you have only partially coloured the STDF, I think in this instance less is definitely best.
ReplyDeleteDonita - Sue does colour that way but she also uses Distress Marker Pens.
PP - It was a Strictly night for me too, I just wish I knew who all the contestants are.
Marie - Look after that leg and I hope it is not too painful.
Frances

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a beautiful get well card, love the stamp and the colours, the background is perfect left plain, as it certainly makes the stamp design stand out. Bx
ReplyDeleteA pretty, dainty get well card. Love the stamp.
ReplyDeleteDonita, this must be organizing weekend. I need to get my dining room table cleared for the holidays and ordered storage to that goal (which UPS delivered to an entirely different state although the address was correct). Now, am waiting for replacement delivery when I had hoped to be done over this weekend. We may have another hurricane hit our coast and so I'll have family staying if evacuation is ordered. At least the guest room is ready.
I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. Please be thinking about our poor coast line again this September.
