Hi there my crafty friends! Here's one for you if you need a really quick card! I started with a piece of coconut white card and embossed it with the
Sublime Swirls 3D embossing folder. I used
Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish lightly over the top to give the embossing a sheen. I cut the
Sophia die in
Antique Gold card and then shadowed it with one cut in black. Next I cut the
Bella die in black and layered it on top. I made a frame using the
Double Stitched Noble Octagons in white. I cut a backing for it with a
sticky adhesive sheet attached. I added it to the frame leaving the sticky adhesive area open. I added the
Thank You Mini Expression cut in gold and black to the centre, then filled in with
Iced Snow and mounted it in the centre of the card. I cut two
Passion Flowers cut in white with gold polish on the edges. I seated them on a white satin ribbon bow and added small pearls to the centres. The card was completed with white, gold and black mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card,I love the effect that the gilding polish gives on the embossing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sue, loved your shows over the weekend too.

Hi Sue. Brilliant idea. We are always ready for quick card inspiration from you. Thankfully we can use the majority of your dies for this which is such a help. Today's sample shows us that a quick card can be just as impressive as a card that's taken most of our day. Rest day here so I can catch up on your shows I missed yesterday and I'm so looking forward to it. And it's so lovely to see samples by Beverley and that her talent isn't limited to the fb group - it shows that nagging does work sometimes lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you manage some rest today, have a good one xxx
Hi sue,
ReplyDeleteStunning card, and I agree to as the gilding polish really does the card justice stunning!

Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteThank you a lovely card.
Thank you Sue for all the great shows yesterday.
Take care and have fun Kitty.
Hello Sue, a very elegant card, love the subtle sheen from the gilding polish. The shows were brilliant, great demos. Have a good day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, lovely card this morning.

Good Morning Sue and all
ReplyDeleteStunning card this morning , the gilding polish works so beautifully on the design of card. The embossed 3D background works so well with the Sophia die.
Love your shows yesterday and great Demos.
Wendy
Great card! I think this card is one better in the flesh so to speak with the gilding polish. Debra x
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue,
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely card and I like the way you used the Gilding polish on the flower edges.
Enjoyed your shows on Hochanda this weekend, one hour is not enough for all your fans...Maybe two hours next time?

A lovely and elegant card Sue, thank you. Have a good day. Xxx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful card today to share with us all, I always struggle with adding the shine to embossed card, I must persevere..... I will crack it at some stage.
ReplyDeleteThank you xx
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card with a fabulous background!x
Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteWho would think at first look that this is a quick card and yes, can be done with many of your oh so versatile dies. The gilding polish looks fabulous on both the 3D background and the flowers.
Have so far watched your first Hochanda show on replay, I just wish there was a way to record as so much information, really loved both cards - lots of inspiration.
hugs

Wooo! Bella gets a little risque, cut in black! Her big sister Sophia, however, is keeping an eye on her. On a bed of polished Sublime Swirls, and with the Passion Flowers polished, dripping in pearls and enhanced by a bow, it seems to be going to or just returned from a wedding. Not being a member of the Octagon Nation, I would try the center part with the Hexies I do have.
ReplyDeleteSunday's card was aptly named Miss You. You sure did. I don't know how I managed to not see Sunday's card, unless I was busy watching you inspire and delight us with so many samples on Hochanda.
Congratulations to Bev and Paul, for having their samples on TV with you, and to Sam Smithard and the comment game winners.
I must say that I really enjoyed Matt on the 9 a.m. show, making the sweetest little noise when you rouged the cheeks of your snowman and pretending he couldn't bear to look when you amputated poor Frosty's lower sphere. But it was hilarious when he mimed your commentary about whether to put snowmen's arms up or down. He acted out some Snowman expressions that went with his own arms up or down, then he got creative and alternated one up and one down. It was hilarious. I dont know if you even saw. You were busy showing us the clever way you glued the arms on, by putting the arms on your craft sheet, dabbing on some glue, then lowering the snowman onto them. I also liked how you applied glue to all three buttons still in the die, placed the die exacyly where you wanted the buttons, then pokey-tool-popped them out, perfectly lined up and already glued down.
Also Lisa's holographic glitter bits made a believer out of me for night skies, but not before the supplies were gone. And I loved the crystal colors encapsulating glitterbitz.
And gold leaf behind the mosaic frame.
I know I'll feel better when we hear from Carmen.
Thank you for an inspiring, entertaining weekend.
Best,
Donita

Great shows. My recorder refused to record, so I’m having to use Rewind to catch up with your shows - but fortunately my new early birthday present iPad is up to the job as we are off to North Devon for a few days.

Lovely card SUE
ReplyDeleteI don’t have that EF or die set but I do have the mini expressions die! One out of three ain’t bad! So maybe I can have a go with different EF and mandala dies ...
Good Morning Sue. I love quick cards...... and this one is no exception.....and I seem to be needing them more and more..... it's getting so there are not enough hours in a day. It's a really lovely card Sue. And it looks like you have spent hours on it. I have never tried the gliding polishes..... I ought to give them a go....I usually lightly dust over the top with a smoothie and an ink or chalk pad just to highlight it... but the polish seems to leave a pearlised finish. Hmmm I feel ANOTHER investment coming on. Thankyou Sue for your brilliant ideas, contribution and dedication to this fabulous blog. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds
ReplyDeleteLovely card today and a quick one too. Need to do catch up to watch your shows as didn't get chance to watch you live. Xx

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteMight be a quick card but nonetheless it's beautiful and Sophia and Bella work well together. Thank you for the tip about misting the top of the gilding polishs and texture pastes before putting the lids back on so that they don't dry out. Loved all your shows, just wish you were on more often
Love and hugs to everyone
Pat

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue, you must have been exhausted after demoing over the weekend, but we all enjoyed watching and learning from you, so thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe 3d EF are sumptuous and I bought some gilding polish a couple of weeks ago but haven't used them yet so here goes.
Black and gold always does it for me. Makes even the simplest of cards look regal. Hugs xx Pauline

How lovely this is - may seem simple but it is really elegant.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a lovely elegant and timeless card. Love gilding polish although I only have Enchanted Gold at the moment it is so much easier to use than the gilding wax but I do have a lot of those to use up before I dare buy any more polish. Enjoyed all of your shows and am going to re-watch your demo's today as it is drizzly outside and I don't feel like gardening.
ReplyDeleteYorkie Girl - good to see you back :-)

Donita -Thank you so much for thinking of me. We live far away from the area where the shootings were.Toronto is not a safe city; true, sad and scary. That's why, since we came to Canada, very very rarely we were outside after 10 pm.
Hugs from Toronto to you all and special hugs to all missing friends.
