Hello bloggers! I missed this pretty sample from the Sept. release and thought I would share it now with you. I started by cutting both off the decorative dies of the Sagitta Gemini die without the cutting edges into the sides of a piece of coconut white card. I backed it with vellum for a soft look. Next I cut the larger section of the die in Blue Dusk card twice and used the fall away pieces to paper piece the small teardrops back into the background for a touch of blue. Next I cut the Jennifer die in white as a backdrop for my focal element. The Scarlet die was cut in Blue Dusk card and backed with vellum and added to the middle. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the oval from the Scarlet die and backed it with a hand cut faux oval in blue. I stacked them and added them with foam mounting to the centre. Three vellum flowers were made using the small flower from the Nasturtium Cluster set and inked very lightly with Stormy Sky Distress ink and added to the focal element. White and Blue Dusk card mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue and all
ReplyDeleteWOW card this morning , the effects created from the Sagitta Gemini die are stunning. The hint of the dusky blue card works so well with coconut card. The finishing touches with your flowers are stunning.
Sending crafty hugs and well wishes to all..... Wendy
Morning Sue. This is such a beautiful delicate sample. The Sagitta is made for paper piecing, backing with vellum or even Pixie powdered backing, your floral element is just adorable in fact the sample in full is totally adorable thank you for giving it the day on the blog it really deserves. So it was impossible to hide my gifts within an egg (so I thought) the Birthday and wedding frame came as bought but then the rake, glove and tiny flower stalks fell into my lap lol followed by "Dig in" so you've guessed what the 3rd Easter surprise was, all will last longer than the egg so I can't wait to feel up to playing again ☺
ReplyDeleteSending hugs for a lovely day xx

Morning Sue, such a beautiful card to brighten this miserable, wet morning. Hugs xx Pauline
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of this lovely sample is the blue dusk fallout drops that you have paper-pieced back into the Sagitta. They really do raise the perception of difficulty, without actually being difficult.
ReplyDeleteBest to all,
Donita
