Hi crafters! I love the way this card came out, but it sat on my desk for quite awhile before I figured out what I thought it needed! I started by cutting the Crux Gemini die into opposite corners. I used a sticky adhesive sheet and coated it with Iced Snow, then mounted it under the card with the acetate side upwards showing through the corners. Next I used a piece of card that I had covered with Lava Red and Emerald Green Pixie powders. I cut the Heather backing die out of it, six of the Passion Flowers and the sentiment. I added the decorative Heather die in white to the backing. I cut the centre of the Sophia die in white and cut it in half. I mounted it so it was sticking out from behind the Heather die and attached it in the centre of the card. I used the centre of the Michelle die as a backing for the sentiment, which was cut from the Wedded Bliss Frame I added small earls to each of the flowers and mounted them in opposite corners, adding a thin satin ribbon bow and decorative leaves. The card was completed with white on white mats. The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. You sure know to lift that Monday morning feeling, what a beauty, from the bling to that happy pop of colour, how can anyone not enjoy starting their day with a sample such as this. So you also have the odd 'lingering' part made part finished sample/card sitting in your work area lol phew, thank goodness for that, a true crafter lol. I've had a part made baby boy card order slumped and waiting to be finished for at least a month ! I started it when I was told the baby had been born (28th March ) I then became off colour and ended up in hospital, I did notify the lady that ordered it and said I wouldn't be offended if she wanted to shop buy rather than wait for goodness how long and that she'd probably be asking for this child's 1st birthday card before I felt well enough to do the baby congrats lol. She refuses point blank to shop buy and wouldn't even insult me by buying me a get well, I had to smile at that one bless her heart. So I'm thrilled you also have the hanger on'ers Sue that makes me feel sooo much better thank you lol.
ReplyDeleteSo after my twaddle and life story I'll pop off and send you hugs for the day ☺ xxx
Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteThank you a beautiful card, pretty colours.

ReplyDeleteStunning card! I love all the dies used today (especially the 'Heather one' lol!). I think iced snow is my absolute favourite of all my glitters and is definately my most used. The pixie powder Passion flowers are beautiful I love the pearls in the centre as well. The Gemini sets of dies are always my first purchase of each launch and this one is gorgeous.

Hi Sue, a stunning card. I love how you have used your beautiful Gemini die and the splash of colour with your Pixie powders on the flowers. All totally gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely dies these are - love the background and the colours are so pretty. Thank you Sue
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Crux fan, too, and also love the Passion Flowers. Unlike everyone else, though, I didn't like the red and green Pixie Powders, unless those were the wedding colors. To me, they messed up the purity of the all-white wedding card. On the other hand, those little pearls in the centers of the flowers just make me melt.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that if you put the paper with the Crux apertures onto the sticky paper first, and then applied the Iced Snow, you wouldn't waste a lot of Iced Snow under the focal element, which covers the entire center of the card. Unless I'm missing something.
This weekend, I discovered that one set of the little flowers that came with the Spring Branch is just the right size to fill the little flower shapes in the Flora die. Takes forever but really pretty.
Best to all,
Donita in Rhode Island
Hi Sue, Beautiful card . love Jean Z xxx
