Hello bloggers! This post is dedicated to two dies sets; the Gingerbread House and the Gingerbread Roof. Shown here, you can see that this set can make into a 3D house for your Festive display at Christmas. Although you cannot see it in this photograph, I have made the side windows sheer using vellum so you can put an electric tea light inside the house and it glows through the windows. It will be very pretty at Christmas time. The Gingerbread House set can easily be used on it's own too as was seen in the previous post. If you want a bit more, add the roof and make it into something 3D for a Christmas keepsake. Comments? Don't forget to leave them! See you at 3pm! All for now Sue x

Afternoon Sue and all Wilsonettes, now this is something else isn't it, having your own 3D gingerbread house especially with a tea light inside, what a wonderful idea and would make really scrumptious gifts for friends and family too.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Hello Sue and the WIlsonettes,
ReplyDeleteStupid question Sue but is the frame from the Gingerbread children the side of the gingerbread house because if it's not we have a front and back of the house being held up by the roof panels but there is a hurling great wind blowing in through the center and our little friends are going to get cold?
Lovely wee house and they can duck to get in the front door, these houses just weren't built for big people just like our own in todays day and age. my poor wee cousin has come a cropper a few times being 6'8" and misjudged the height of some doorways. Thank you flower for bringing out the inner child in me that likes to show up now and then if given the opportunity.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

ReplyDeleteJust when I think that the gingerbread house die wasn't one on my wish list (not having any young children), you persuade me different by making it 3d. With a little more thought, I could make a small Alpine village, with tea lights blazing. Thank you Sue. Hugs xx P Austen
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I think your gingerbread house is gorgeous and your idea of vellum windows and a tea light will make it look magical. I love the shingle roof and am already wondering if it could be used for something else. There are a couple of little ones I know that would love this but I would actually like it for myself :-)
ReplyDeleteFrances
What a happy lovely set of dies. Think it may be to fiddly for my pathetic useless sized fingers to actually build it as a project, but flat on a card - date anyone get in my way ! Absolutely adorable. I'm so excited to see lots more card type samples from you with these, plus the buddies I've found on Facebook ☺ Look forward to the next post. Enjoy your afternoon xx

I only wish that when my sons were younger their efforts had replicated this gingerbread house. Instead I was always presented with a rather mutated pile of crumbs which as a mum I dutifully admired and praised with my fingers tightly crossed x
Happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially all my blog besties x

ReplyDeleteSharon, best news I have heard for ages, Shane you have had to wait and worry for so long.
Maureen,Norah my car is not a little roadster, it is a four seater, so big doors and easier to get in and out of. June, funny I didn't hear the wolf whistles, probably thought it was the wind. I'm afraid my days of wolf whistles are long gone, but thanks for the morale boost.
Hapoy to report breathing much easier today it's cooler.
Pat, I bet Sarah is having such a great time, so well deserved, she is one brave little trooper.
Rosemarie, hope the hospital visit went well, sorry you had a bad morning.
Yvonne, good news on Dillon, hope he continues to improve. You made me laugh with the boys and the gingerbread IKEA house.

ReplyDeleteAhhh, you made a 3D Gingerbread house. What fun! Here I was reminiscing about baking gingerbread houses and little men. You have made it so much easier for us crafters to make gingerbread houses and little gingerbread men. And, it will last so much longer. And one doesn't have to worry if it rains so the royal icing can set up properly. No little hands swiping the icing and candies and nibbling the corners. And your gingerbread house can light up! WOW! It doesn't get much better than that. Is the size of your ginerbread house so one can hang it as an ornament on a Christmas tree?
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot: Hope you will do a video on making this cut little house.
ReplyDeleteAwesome tfs

Thank you Sue!!!
This is really a cute card. I love the house!!!
I cannot wait to make ginger bread cards this year!!!
It is an old family tradition to bake ginger bread boys every year.
I have my grandmother's recipe!!!
My mother, every year, would make about 800 of them!!!
I made them for my children and now I make them for my grand children.
This year I am going to send out Ginger Bread Cards along with the ginger bread cookies!!!
Won't that be fun!!!!
It's a lovely idea To be able to make rather than buy gingerbread houses Karenlotty

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super idea, really ingenious! I loved the gingerbread house on the last card but seeing it in 3D format just blows my mind, how do you do it Sue, you are consistently brilliant and challenge our creative heads to produce pure works of art that would be impossible without your fabulous dies. Whilst I don't anticipate producing a 3D version , i would get plenty of mileage out creating the flatter version on novelty cards over the festive period.
Love and crafty hugs,
