Hi crafters! Today's offering is a lovely shaker card using the new heart shaped treat cups. I started by selecting lilac card for my background and cut the heart shape aperture in the top of the card. I wanted a border beneath it so I used the Rippled Striplet pieces to create it. I cut the striplet then cut the decorative inside piece apart and reassembled it with the straight edges back to back. I added a thin piece of black card behind the side edging cut out area (it looks like ribbon, but it is card) and glued it below the aperture. Next I filled my treat cup with lilac heart die pieces and sealed it with acetate. I put the treat cup through the aperture and taped the edges to the back of the card. I cut the inside from the Laced Heart in white and added it behind the treat cup and then cut the Jewelled Heart and added it over the top of the treat cup on the front of the card. Next I made a scrunched flower using the solid flower from the Striped Nasturtiums. I added it with a thin satin ribbon bow and some leaves as accents. I seated the entire card on a thin black mat, which showed through the design behind the treat cup. The card was finished with white, black and lilac mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. Catching up with our Phill show casing your April release whilst waiting for 6am and he's doing a good job, and sales look good too (of course) ☺
ReplyDeleteThere are so many complimentary words to describe the first sample of the week I don't know where to start. It's such a delicate die and you can either choose a beautiful CAS card with clean straight lines with minimum extra embellishment or go gaga wild and juzch it up all 'fancy' either way this die is so versatile. Today's sample is so lovely so sweet, and that little pop of black just shows the beauty of the border, just made for ribbon threading ☺
Hoping you had a good weekend, and sending my love n hugs for the day ahead xxx
Morning Sue a lovely card today will try this card .

Morning Sue. WOW This is a elegant card, very classy. I love the colours you have used on this one. I made a heart card but without the treat cup in teal and white for a friends wedding and they thought it was fantastic. Since then i have had to make another four in different colourways for friends who were going to weddings. Another great success for one of your dies lol.

Dear Sue and Crafty Crew,
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorite dies! When I first saw the Ripple Striplet, you had done it this way and I searched everywhere to ring the marvelous die I had missed but it was nowhere to be found. Took a long time to dawn on me. The jeweled heart really has my number. By far the best!
Carmen you sound so young, ceartainly not old enough to have a grown son. And Norah, I hadn't thought of you as short, but compared to 6'8", I guess you are!
Welcome to unofficial summer. Our holiday is rainy too.
And yup, some crafting will get done!
Love,
Donita

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite dies...I gave this heart die and two of the related fillable die sets to my crafting friend for her birthday and it is so beautiful. I couldn't believe how the detail cut so well...all those pinpoint details especially. While we do share our dies, I will be adding these to my personal collection asap. We were just using the heart die last Thursday....and we cut it from a similar color that you used....

ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
This is a beautiful card, suitable for lots of different occasions.
I intend to make this card for my Niece's Anniversary, thinking I could put blue and pink small hearts in the "shaker" card, to mark female & male, and also numbers to depict the years married.
One could make this card for a wedding, adding hearts of blue & pink and also the initials of the couple.
Loads of different ideas are beginning to flow.
Thanks for sharing your ideas Sue.
Love and hugs
Dorothy of Baldock
A very pretty card, the colour combination is just great. Unfortunately not a die I have! Not crafting weather here as it is sunny, hot & muggy, but maybe the rain will reach us later! Hope you are having a good bank holiday Sue, wherever you may be.

What a pretty card - it looks pink on my iPad - doesn't light do funny things to colours?! It's a beautiful heart although I wouldn't use a treat Cup. I just don't like them! I can't explain why - just one of those things! Beautiful card though and lovely flowers. Thank you!
Will need to catch up with Phill 's Shows later. Some really lovely cards on last night's Show.
PP - lovely to see you even for a little minute - hope you feel a lot better very soon!
Laine - you must be quite poorly I think and I'm sorry about that. You are missed too and I hope you can come back very soon. Is Mum ok?
Carmen - so very sorry about the Kid - will add him to my Prayer List. You take care too.
Thanks Pam!
Maureen - behave - a toy boy!! Poor George is working his fingers to the bone! My flabber is well and truly gasted!!!
