Frilly Chrysanthemum Card
Hi crafters! The Chrysanthemum die set makes gorgeous flowers and today's video shows you another take on this lovely die set!
The finished dimensions are 7" x
9 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x
Love today's card Sue, gorgeous, so lacy. Theresa, belated Anniversary wishes for you and your forgetful husband, he us never going to change is he. Hope you had a super day. Norah, we would have had so much fun if we had been less than civil servants together, you do cheer me up, thank you Hun x. I have had 2 days leave to give me a break so back tomorrow, not sure when I will find out. Rosemary, how did Dylan's op go, I hope he is alright and that he is back with you now. Maureen, stop preening for your physio, hope all goes well, it is going to be hard work to get you back to normal , well as normal as can be. Donita, your craft room sounds fab. I'm heartened by the stories of the craft rooms which seem as bad as mine, don't feel so bad now till I open the door again at least. Elaine, hope you and Andrew and Helen are still improving, big hugs for you all. John sounds a positive gem, house trained to perfection. Laine and Yvonne, miss you gals, are you okay. Saba, enjoy your last few days with your grandson, when do you travel home. Daily hugs to all, especially our missing and poorly friends, their carers too. Special hugs fir our lonely people, that is a hard thing to endure.
H Pam. Dylan is back home looking like a patchwork quilt with all the shaved areas! Had a bit of a rough night but is bouncing back this morning, nothing a few small sausages didn't fix !!!! Hope all goes well for you tomorrow xxxx
Hi Sue, this card is a really lovely creation, the colour combo is superb, and the chrysanthemum is a perfect element. Off to watch the video. Have a great day all. Bx
Morning Sue. At last I can say I have 2 of the dies that makes up this beauty. As I've said, before my crafting took a nose dive and my concentration with it I was having a love affair with your Crysanthemum and it showed up everywhere it's a beautiful addition to most cards Sue, and the Antila ? Forgive me if I'm wrong both in name and or spelling but I love that too, so I look forward to watching your video once the dog has stopped singing her seranade hinting that she's ready to go squirrel hunting !! Sending love n hugs for the day xxx
Beautiful, lacy card today. I didn't think I needed the chrysanthemum die as I have similar ones or so I thought but they just aren't as nice so it's on my ever growing list. I think if anything happened that meant I couldn't craft at all we'd be able to live comfortably off the proceeds from my craft room for years! I think that's why the room is so untidy - just too much stuff for the shelves and drawers.
Thoughts and prayers to all especially ill and missing friends. Crafty hugs, D xx
Good morning Sue. Lovely card, saving the video for later when I can enjoy it. Echoing Pam's comments again today, thanks Pam for looking after us. Hugs to all. Sue xxx
Once you said strawflower, I was back in. Everything in me was looking for ways to edit this card back a little, but I'll take the strawflower tutorial and be happy. A mix of yellow card stock and gold vellum, maybe, for a strawflower on a card that isn't quite so glam. The gemini borders also make me happy.
Wishing everyone the joy of making something more beautiful than you ever thought you could.
Good morning Sue today's card is gorgeous. I love it. I am looking forward to watching the video later when I get back from work. Take care. Hugs Jackie
Good morning Sue, another stunning creation, LOVE the lacy edges. I love everything actually. I am off to watch and learn. I hope Maureen does not tease her Physio Tom too much. Our Maureen is a right tease at times. I am sure Tom will find her an absolute delight to work with, she will do all he asks of her with a big smile on her face. Pam hope work is not too Traumtic for you. You would love our Norah she a treat to be with. As always I echo your great summary. Thinking of all who are ill or going through hard times. Patricia xxx
Hi Sue Lovely lacy looking card today these dies are fantastic .
Maureen , hope all goes well with Tom today , please be kind to him sending you my daily gentle hug and one for Tom too. xx
Theresa , hope you both had a lovely day .xx
Norah , oh dear i hope you get your machine back to good health , my john is so heavy handed too, i was cleaning a very delicate horse ornament one day ,"i will do that says John" he immediately took hold of it and knocked his flippin tail off ,so dont let the other half touch anything. xxx
Andrew has his blood tests today and sees the Consultant tomorrow , we are just hoping his immune system will be good after being so ill. Helen can move a little better and the pain is less than it was , thank you all for your good wishes .
Pam enjoy your last day of freedom before reporting back to duty ,joking apart i hope all will be well for you , echoing all your words again today.
Hi Sue Such a lacy effect just adore this card. I don't do mirricard much but it certainly adds something to your creation. Regards Heather R Oxfordshire
Hi Sue, such a pretty card today. Love the colour combo and the lacey look. When can you say enough is enough to your flower dies? Never! So will be buying the chrysanthemum die anytime soon. Looking forward to seeing the video.Hugs xx P Austen
Hi Sue What a glorious card today. There was me saying the other day you don't often use Miri card and blow me down there you go again! Lol. Love the dies you have used and the chrysanthemum i.e. Will now go on my wish list although I gave to confess to getting a little panicky when you must and scrunch! Mind you Patricia has shown me this technique before and her flowers are always stunning. Thank you for a great card and video. Love Diane G xxx Pam hope you've enjoyed your days off and going back to work isn't too painful. Echoing your comments xxx Elaine sending extra hugs for you Andrew and Helen xxx
Hi Sue - I love anything with a lace effect and this card has it in abundance. Love the way you have used the flower, such a brilliant die. Sending best wishes YvonneMayxx
Good Morning Sue and all.. Stunning card this morning as always. going to pop the kettle on the watch the video. thank you again for sharing and taking the time to video.... Wendy
Hi Sue Thank you for another great video and stunning card, don't have the chrysanthemum die yet but it is a beauty Pam hope the couple of days off did you good and going back to work isn't too awful, echoing you again if I may Maureen I think something a little more subtle for physio, you don't want to shock the poor man!! Hope it all goes well and you soon get rid of the zimmer xxx
Hi Sue I just watched the video and love the way you done this card and I think it's so elegant very classic card like u said which would be great in absolute any colour Joy Xx
Hi Sue and everyone. I am loving the double die cut and the beautiful flower. Maybe nice in navy blue instead of the black? I will try it. Have my new Tim Holtz stamping Platform it is amazing! Excellent for people like me who have unsteady hands, thoroughly recommend it. Well Dylan is home, had a bit of an unsettled night but is back to normal this morning, nothing a few small sausages didn't fix!! He looks like a patchwork quilt they have shaved so much fur in 3 places. Have to go back in a week for results. Thank you to all of you for your concern xxxxxxxxxxx
Morning Sue, wow this is stunning, I love the lacy edges, very decadent. Have a lovely day everyone, Maureen be gentle with your physiotherapist, you don't want to put him off!! Take care, Jess xxx
Morning Sue and all the Wilsonettes Beautiful card today and I think I have these dies except the chrysanthemum die yet, so will be playing after getting inspiration from you as always, going to make a cuppa and sit watch the video now.
Pam hope your enjoying your couple of days off, easier said than done but try not let work get to you too much you are far more important than that.
Love and healing hugs to all that are poorly, lonely, sad, or just need some
A beautiful card Sue. Watching the tutorials is very helpful, though I try never to actually copy a die, if you know what you can do with them it can be transferred to other dies.
An amazing card today Sue, so so pretty, love your little flower, your flower dies are so versatile, can be made to look so different just a little bit of water and a scrunch makes it totally awesome.....thank you Sue....luv Ursula xx
Hello Sue, Gorgeous card today and I may attempt to do the flower "your" way!!! Pam, enjoy your little holiday (I nearly said break but I didn't want to tempt fate!) and I hope you get good news on your return. Thinking of you. Elaine, hoping that Andrew's bloods are fine and his treatment continues, and that you and Helen are bearing up. I call George "Oops" as he always drops, cracks, breaks or spills everything, but I'm glad of his help at the moment!!! Pat L, I took your advice and wore something more suitable for Tom. An afternoon tea dress, stilletos and emerald and diamond suite of jewels ha ha. (Trousers, blouse and apron over the top with BIG pockets to carry all the things I need like mobile phone, hand cream, little notebook and pen which was a gift from Margaret Corgi and odds and sods). I've had a text from PP to say that a visitor has gone home with Yvonne's Tablet so she is unable to get onto Sue's blog. She has withdrawal symptoms but I've told her that no-one is missing her and it's lovely not to have to read her drivel!!! ha ha. Oh, I'll be in big trouble if she scrolls back to read this! She has an old phone like mine so doesn't get emails or anything like that lol. Rosemary, I hope Dylon continues to improve and the results are good. Well, what can I say, Tom thinks I'm amazing and remarkable - and who am I to argue with him! I was disappointed that he wasn't a Physiotherapist but someone who assesses what equipment I'll need. Among the rubbish is a 4 wheeled zimmer with seat for when I am able to go outside in the future. I've told him that I'm not using that, I'll look like an old person, George told me to look in the mirror and Tom just laughed. George will be sorry, I'm just finding a few more jobs for him to do ha ha. Norah, hope you are feeling much better today. love to all Maureen xxxx
Beautiful card and video. Love how you made the flower.
I have a question for you:
One of my fav things about your die sets is they include solid backgrounds on which to mount the detailed overlay cuts. Have you ever considered doing the same thing with your word and/or sentiment die sets? There are more and more popping up on the market and it really is nice having that solid background especially when the font is delicate.
Well, Sue, I so love anything with a lace effect and this card has it in abundance! I think the Antila die is wonderful. I really like the way you have used the flower, which I don't have yet ( will have to improvise!) Loving the colour too. Perhaps 'my' version will also need to be a bit more simple but I will watch the video and see! Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Sue, a lovely frilly and lacy card. Megan is so pretty and I hadn't realised that she had such a lovely shaped centre piece - yes I had seen it before but it was only when you had cut it from mirror card and overlaid it on black that the real beauty shone through. Rats, that's another one for the 'must have' list. The chrysanthemum certainly looks different when you treat it to a spritz and scrunch, not something I have tried with it yet but I will give it a go.
Rosemary - good that Dylan has bounced back and paws crossed that the results next week are good. Maureen - thanks for letting us know why PP has been missing. You could let her know that when you and Myra are on such good form we really don't miss her and Laine at all lol Pam - hope tomorrow goes well for you.
Hello Sue You have used my favourite flowers again so of course I love this card I hope you are managing to take some me time. Pam I hope you managed to enjoy your short break.Rosemary it must be a relief to have Dylan home again fingers crossed for next week.Elaine I hope things go well for Andrew today. My brother has had a course of radiotherapy on his brain and is going to the hospital today to discuss chemotherapy we know that it isn't a cure but if it will give us a few extra months we will be grateful.
Hello Sue, I'm not able to access the video at the moment but will try again later! I love the Chrysanthemum Die - I've yet to scrunch it though except in anger when I have made a mistake! It is lovely in two colours pr shades and f the same colour! I love it! Maureen - I seeyou need a golf buggy or mini moke!! Please think of your carriage as one of those - much more trendy than a zimmer with four wheels and a seat! Think the Ryder Cup Team Captains zooming around!! Do stop at red traffic lights though!! Will it have a roof? You are going to tell me AGAIN- not to mock the afflicted! I wouldn't dare to be so unkind if I weren't a friend!!ha ha! Pam hope all goes well tomorrow! Yvonne - PP what are Maureen and you like with ancient relics for phones!! You need an upgrade! Laine - haven't heard from you so thinking you not very well. Sending some hugs to you my dear! I'd better go before I get in trouble - again! Love to all, Myra xxx
Another one a bit too frilly for my taste but can see so much use from the dies as separate elements so a very handy post for inspiration... Thanks for sharing
I love this card. Antlia dies make the card so lacy, elegant and feminine. And Megan is just the icing on the cake. Double die-cutting technique is another new technique for a newbie like me. Thank you for the great tutorial.
Maureen, Norah – Thank you, ladies, for your comments, great sense of humor and optimism. You do cheer us up. Frances – I join you … who really miss PP & Laine when we have Maureen & Myra? The 4 of them once will be too much :) Elaine – Fingers crossed for Andrew. Glad to hear that Helen is doing better. Sending you my daily hugs. Pam – Hope everything goes well tomorrow. Good luck!
Have a lovely day everyone, Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest, or the only Canadian Wilsonette , Carmen
Gorgeous card Sue and I have all the dies. Yippee! I bought the Megan die as that is the name of my youngest Granddaughter and it is a lovely die. Think I will make this card for my friends 80th birthday but in her favourite colours. Lilac and Purple with the silver of course. Thank you Sue for your inspiration. Hope you have had a lovely two days of work Pam and feel better for it. Echoing your comments today.

Sorry had an extra long busy day yesterday, Sue, wanted to have a chance to watch the video before commenting. Love that Gemini, really sets off the whole design - pretty scrumpled flower, too, think it may look better 'in the flesh' as it's somewhat lost in the ornate background. Needs it's day to shine!! Thanks as ever for the video.
Another beautiful card Sue. I have so many dies that I haven't yet used and keep telling myself that I shouldn't buy more BUT ..... I'm sure you know what I mean. I still keep adding them to my wish list.
Love today's card Sue, gorgeous, so lacy.

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card today and I may attempt to do the flower "your" way!!!

ReplyDeleteRosemary - good that Dylan has bounced back and paws crossed that the results next week are good.
Maureen - thanks for letting us know why PP has been missing. You could let her know that when you and Myra are on such good form we really don't miss her and Laine at all lol
Pam - hope tomorrow goes well for you.
Frances
I can see the flower die being used to create other things as well as chrysanthemums.
ReplyDeleteStunning card.

Hello Sue
ReplyDeleteYou have used my favourite flowers again so of course I love this card I hope you are managing to take some me time.
Fantastically frilly in black and white! Elegant and stunning! TFS!
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual and beautiful card. Love it. Thanks Sue xx
ReplyDeleteHello Sue,
ReplyDeleteI'm not able to access the video at the moment but will try again later!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI love this card.
The 4 of them once will be too much :)
Elaine – Fingers crossed for Andrew. Glad to hear that Helen is doing better. Sending you my daily hugs.
Pam – Hope everything goes well tomorrow. Good luck!
Have a lovely day everyone,
Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest, or the only Canadian Wilsonette ,

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Sue and I have all the dies.

This is beautiful! I have that border. I just got it recently and I love the way these work.
ReplyDeleteSorry had an extra long busy day yesterday, Sue, wanted to have a chance to watch the video before commenting. Love that Gemini, really sets off the whole design - pretty scrumpled flower, too, think it may look better 'in the flesh' as it's somewhat lost in the ornate background. Needs it's day to shine!! Thanks as ever for the video.
