All Star Card
Hi bloggers! Here is something that I am always asked for: ideas for men's cards! The You're A Star die set is perfect for use with any of the Shadow Box dies and you can easily change the colours to suit your needs!
The finished sizes are 6 3/4" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x
Good morning Sue, what a beauty you have given us today, it's gorgeous, perfect for men. Sam, you have no need to apologise for your blogs, we know that is how you fix everything in your mind, you have told us before. Just keep doing what you are doing, that is best for you. I'm sorry you felt the need to explain again. Elaine, good to hear Andrew is better and that you had a good day together. Hope all goes well with the GP on Wed for you. Yvonne, happy that Mum is home, it will make Dad happy too. Enjoy your day with Maureen, you will have lots to chat and laugh about. I had a sneak peek at the new launch thanks to Laines tip, already picked a few favourites but want to see Sues magic with them first. June you will be happy to see the end of physio no doubt, wonder how Sharon is doing with hers. Thanks for well wishes ladies, I am taking it easy, truth to tell I have no option, no energy for anything else at moment but give it a few days and I will be fine. Tina and Owen, NannaTina, I send my special hugs and wishes, think of you every day, wish I could do more to help. Hugs to all friends, keep warm and safe, missing friends too.
Morning Sue. Perfect. Although it's brilliant for the 'men' you have given us the tools to make cards for both genders of any age, these days women are into sport that we only use to see men enjoying but I'm sure one of our blog ladies play golf tournaments, there are female football and rugby teams also, and if course, both men & women love and play tennis so this collection is spot on. I have to put my hands up though and say I've only used 'masculine' colours so far for the SB frame, maybe I should practice what I preach lol and use a more feminine colour frame with the mix of sport dies and perfume bottles maybe lol all in all a brilliant collection of idea's from the best. Sending my usual hug your way xxx
Hi Sue A great card for some men but my hubby has no interest in any sport at all. So making him a birthday card is always difficult. Looking forward of the new launch. Jan x
Hello Sue, what a brilliant "guy" card, your shadow box dies are a great collection, and love the colours you have used on this one. Off to watch the video. Have a great day. Bx
Morning Sue. I think this card is gorgeous. When you launched this set i bought it and made my husbsnds bithday card with them, i just changed the colours and he loved it. Best Wishes. Denise T x
Fabulous card. I copied some of the ideas from this one to make a golfing card for a friend but filled some of the squares with teacup, teapot and cakes as his only hobby is golf but he loves cakes too! Big hugs to all who are suffering or in need. Sorry you still have no energy Pam but a good excuse to craft! Happy crafting. D xx
Morning Sue. Thank you a great card as you said for all types. Take care Kitty. Sue I have had a look at your new collection Just Brilliant cannot wait for the tutorials.
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I so enjoy the shadow box dies and the die set you have used is brilliant for the man cards that many of us struggle with, I will be watching the video later.
Pam hope your feeling a little better each day, it really does take it out of you I know, so listen to your body.
I have had a sneak peak at the new launch of dies and stamps Sue, oh my goodness they are fantastic, I want all of them, waiting eagerly with anticipation to see how you are making samples with them, we are in for a real treat I know.
Sharon how are you doing - are you walking around better now that the scaring is healing up, it is lovely to hear from others who have had a knee replaced because you can relate to the same things.
Laine, PP (glad Mum is home), Myra, you all make me laugh so much, I would love to be a fly on the wall when you all get together, now wouldn't it be lovely if we could all meet up at a retreat or something, it would be hilarious wouldn't it..... but alas they will probably never happen so reading about it all on the blog is a wonderful pick me up and makes us realise what we have to be thankful for.
Elaine how lovely to spend time with Andrew and Helen, fingers crossed that your GP visit goes well too.
Tina and Owen, Nanna Tine, I too wish there was something I could do or say which would help, so special hugs are coming your way.
Now I am going to check out the new dies again - happy days.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

A great card today. It looks so professional. Like the colours together. I have to admit to finding men's cards so difficult and often resort to buying them instead. Though Sue has provided some great options lately.
Looking forward to the release of your new dies and stamps too Sue, but relieved it is not today that you are showcasing them as we are changing internet provider and I'm not sure how smoothly it will go. Fingers crossed.
Good morning Sue, fantastic card again. I love the shadow box cards as they are so versatile. I will watch the video later while my husband is watching sports on tv. Thank you for another wonderful card. Take care everyone Sending hugs Dawn Searle xx

Great man card, Sue, and very patriotic colours for US and UK! Thanks for the video, always with those little extras which make your cards so special. Yes, also seen your new launch - lots of new concepts, can't wait to see your take on them. Sam, as Pam says, no need to apologise - helps fix it in my mind too!! PP - so pleased re your 'wrinklies' and don't make Maureen curtsey as she may not be able to get up again! Laine, no snow at all here, babies gorgeous and really they are leggy teenagers now, we call them the hoolies. Hugs for Pam, Tina x 2 both in Hull, and Elaine.
Great card, love the bold colour scheme and it just goes to show that you can use any of the Shadow Box sets and then just buy the most useful add-on sets - never-ending versatility!....
Hi Sue, I love your shadow box cards. This one is perfect for someone who loves sports. I can't wait to see what you have created with your new die collection. It looks amazing! Thank you for sharing. Véronique L
Hi Sue What a great man card today, nice and bright too. This is a useful collection. Love Diane G xxx
Pam I hope you feel bright enough to craft soon, or at least watch craft tv! Sending hugs xxx June good luck with your last physio school xx Tina I hope the card making is giving you some distraction, you are in my thoughts. Xxx PP enjoy your meet up with Maureen, she is such a lovely lady, I would like to say shy quiet and retiring but you will know I am lying within about 5 seconds! You will have the grand tour I expect and a lovely natter. Good to hear mum and dad are on the mend xxx
Hi Sue - if ever there was a good reason to buy the shadow box dies then this is it! Great man's card. Going to watch the video now. Best wishes YvonneMayxx
Love this card sue the shadow box cards are brilliant y trouble is I can't get them sold out so I will have to keep trying thank you sue love always xxxxxxx
I love the scope the shadow box gives you and the numerous, cute elements you can add to the cubbies.
Today's card is fantastic! My son loves sport and I'm going to make his birthday card on today's theme only this will be from his 8 year old son to him
The ideal card for any sporty person, male or female. With the accessories, it can be adapated to specific likes. My problem is with men who have no interest in sport!
Good morning Sue lovely card great for men but also for sporty girls too I too am now a proud owner of a shadow box die I was in my local craft shop on Saturday & the gardening one just jumped off the shelf & into my hands so I thought I had better buy it!! Paul hope you will soon be feeling better take care! Pp glad your parents are improving Sending caring hugs to Tina & Owen Nanny Tina Elaine & Andrew & all who need them
Such a great idea these shadow box cards, so versatile for anyone. I had a go at the ginger and milk tree card and I must say the 2 colours go so well together, but if you'd seen me yesterday, it ended up that I couldn't see the 'wood for the tree's. I followed your instructions but I just couldn't get it right so I had to try it another way but I got there in the end. However I now have enough trees and cut shapes to make a forest of cards! Have a good day everyone luv jxxx
Good Morning sue and all . What a brilliant card for the men , another great set from the shadow box collection. Looking forward to watching video. Hugs and well wishes all round. Wendy
Hi Sue. What a great idea for those sporty people in our lives. I am pleased to see you have included some golf elements as I have so many golfers amongst my friends and have run out of ideas for their cards.
Hi Sue Gorgeous card today!! I just love the shadow box sets!!! This is the only set that I don't have as yet!!.....I think that may have to change!! I NEED THEM ALL!! Love Sam xxxx
I'm not sporty and neither is my dad, but the way you did the red, white and blue had me picturing Stars and Stripes and wondering what else I could put in the boxes for a patriotic card. Fireworks, maybe. Hot dogs,
Speaking of fireworks, yesterday's comment about where we could get a sneak peek at Sue's January 2017 release hit me like a bombshell!
Already I long for the pods in the finishing touches, and for the tremendous Azores set as well as the Atlantic Ocean corner, border and tag. In the border, it's nice to have the option of a more architectural, less girly-swirly, pattern so we don't embarrass the men.
But I especially enjoyed the paved pearl cat stories. Thanks for the warning!
Tina T, you made me laugh, wishing your arms were long enough to give hugs from across the ocean.
Enjoy your Tuesday. Keep your feet warm and your envelopes dry.
Morning Sue, love Tuesdays as we always get a video and who could complain when you show us a fantastic card for the men in our lives. Thank you. Wendyx
Hello Sue, Really lovely card and I have to say the Shadow Box sets are lovely. I am just about to add the Sports Pack! I know they will be well utilised! Lovely colours you have used as well. Tina - I take is your card for your Grandson won't be in blue then??? He will love his card I'm sure! Take care! June - it was Maureen who asked if she could wear her tiara once! We drew the line at the long white gloves!!! Imagine trying to eat an Italian meal wearing those! Pam - sorry you are feeling a bit under the weather still! I do hope you feel better very soon! New Dies - Sneaky Peek - me too!!! Oooohhhh! There is at least one I've wanted for ages and almost emailed you about it Sue! However you are a mind reader!! Lol! Tina and Elaine and Yvonne and others in need of a hug! Here they come! Lots of love Myra xx
Hi sue and lovely wilsonettes x Fantastic card sue x I love it x so many 'awkward' ones in my family this card is perfect for x Off to have a sneak peek ! Thinking of all the wilsonettes and loved ones x Theresa w xxx
Fabulous male card I do struggle with these. I've seen ur new collection all lovely but nothing jumping out at me yet but no doubt I'll buy a few after seeing ur magic in the creations xx
Hello Sue, Love this card today, those dies are so useful for the boys and men cards, thank you. 'P', how do you know about my dodgy knees? I don't curtsy, I leave that for others to do that to me ha ha. Myra, should I wear the Emerald or Sapphire Tiara when I meet the Princess on Thursday, would an evening dress be too much? Diane, are you looking forward to our next adventure in Newcastle? PP, see you on Thursday - I can't believe I've just typed that!!!! Laine, all your points have been taken and I've written them up my arm so that I don't forget. Aim low, keep dry, don't turn my back, no food after midnight - midnight!!, where do you think we are going? I hope Newcastle is prepared for this! Happy Birthday Pat, have a lovely day. Pam, hope your chest is improving and you feel much better. love to all who are ill, grieving or lonely. Maureen xxx Sorry this is so long winded, but PP is bringing much joy into my humdrum life (adapted from Singin in the Rain!!!!)
Hi Sue ,your shadow box idea is wonderful.I love the depth you can get on the card without it looking too bulky. Enjoyed the video . Thanks for sharing .I am off to drool over your new dies . Gloria ( sidcup ) xx
Good Afternoon Sweet Sue, that is a fabulous male card just right for my grandson unfortunately my hubby isnt sporty minded so Im not sure how I would adapt it, love the colours and the design. hugs Shirleyxxx
Magnificent! I love getting man card ideas and this is a winner! Would love to see a set of shadowbox dies of hunting/fishing or race cars! Stock car racing not drag or truck racing though! TFS!
Hi Sue, I love all of your shadow box cards and this one is no exception. I love the clean lines you have got with your chosen colours and all the little pieces of sports equipment are so sweet (shame there is no cricket bat, though). I don't have this particular accessory set as there are no really sporty people in my family or among my friends but should that change at any time I will definitely be getting it. Looking forward to your new release far more than my bank card is :-)
Hi Sue Brilliant card for those hard to do men's cards and I have these dies, even better my garden shadow box arrived today, have to say excellent service from Set Craft. Guess what I'll be doing this afternoon Pam hope the energy levels pick up soon, look after yourself xx PP enjoy your meeting with Maureen Caring hugs to Nanna Tina, Tina T and Elaine
What a perfect shadow box for men cards I love it Always a hard thing to make men's cards it's easier to buy one lol as I have on many occasions thanks Sue Pam you still resting ? I hope you are feeling better Tina and Tina in my thoughts and well wishes sent Yvonne great that mum is home June last physio tomorrow you go girl show them how it's done Helen hugs to you Do you know I am ashamed to say I can never remember names when it comes to leaving my comments so HUGS TO EVERYONE I am going to start to take notes before I comment Haha Have a wonderful day Theresa G xx
Beautiful card for the men ....I am usually at a loss on what to do for the guys. The shadow boxes are great for the guys ...in fact everyone, think that is why the shadow boxes are so versatile.
Hi, Sue, Great card and I love the colours. I had to smile at the sporty inserts as the only man that I would send a card like this to is my brother-in-law who just happens to be a retired RAF PTI, so the inserts would be just right for him. What a miserable, damp day in my little corner of the world again today. I swear the kitten is taking great pleasure in charging through the cat flap and jumping on my lap while I'm reading a 'real' book, decorating the pages with his muddy paw prints lol. I've seen some of the new release dies and have to say that there are some VERY interesting designs amongst them. Can't wait to see what magic Sue creates with them all. Bejay xx
Lovely card Sue great for the sporty people, will watch the video later .
Pam keep resting my lovely, big hugs. xx Tina T and Owen, in my thoughts big hugs. xx Nanna tina big hugs for you too. Theresa, i have a similar problem i can remember the names but far too many to mention all at once .
Andrew is struggling again ,yesterday was a very bad day, he had a call last week from his consultants secretary ,who said he wanted to discuss his treatment but they didnt bring his appointment forward ,{ why do they do this ?} so tomorrow is the day , Andrew seems to think perhaps the daily injection is not working with the chemo , as he has never felt this ill .
I am at the DRs tomorrow and hope to get some medication , my heart is rushing along and banging away especially when i go to bed , so i can't sleep , i know i have a heart valve that is closing perhaps it is time for another check up.
Sending big hugs to all especially my besties . Elaine H X
A really good alternative masculine card, equally change the sentiment and for any sports fan... As mentioned before you can't beat the shadow box range....
Sue you are an absolutely genius for designing these beauties. Male cards are the ones that i can never think off and these are going to be perfect and save all that stress.
Lovely card Sue. Will look at the video later. Unfortunately none of my family are sporty so don't think I will be buying this one but love the new dies and have seen several I would like. Will wait to see what you do with them first. Thank you Sue.
The Shadow Box concept has to be one of your more ingenious creations to date, i never tire of seeing your samples utilising these fabulous dies. I really enjoyed today's tutorial, watching the way that you create a mini masterpiece is always a joy to behold. Male recipients are notoriously difficult but you have helped matters considerably in creating the Sport and Gardening dies....unfortunately i havent added them to my stash as yet but they are high on my list of must haves that's for sure! I love the colour scheme of today's sample, blue, red and white are a winning combo that could,as you say, be adapted into team colours of choice. I also need to get silver and gold paint pens, they are so useful and effective in transforming the golf clubs. Love, love, love today's card Sue, it's a real treat for the senses. Well, I was just exclaiming to my Mum yesterday that Darcey has been such a good girl eating her supper without a murmur of complaint, and going straight to bed afterwards each night and of course she has to prove me to be a liar by refusing three sachets AND her prawns last night before keeping me awake until the wee hours crying and scratching at the doors in my bedroom.....by the time morning had arrived i had lost the will to live and developed an impressive set of luggage as eyewear accessories! So, as a direct result, all plans for activities today were put on the backburner as i have meandered through the day in a sleep deprived fog....goodness knows i would have made a rubbish mother when it comes to midnight feeds and lack of sleep for months on end so its a good job that i am childless! Besides, I don't think my purse strings would stretch to children and a crafting/shopping addiction:-) How nice to see Yvonne back on the blog again, i have advised her to get plenty of rest prior to her audience with Maureen.....meeting your adoring public can be such a strain you know, i have that issue all the time:-) I wonder if she will make the same efforts with the dress code as Maureen will, it's so difficult choosing an outfit when the world is watching and then copying though, she likes to think of herself as a leader of fashion but in reality she has a lot to learn...i tried tutoring her on how to dress like a lady but she chose to ignore my advice I'm afraid so Maureen , if anything, may feel slightly overdressed for the occasion:-) Maureen, i love the idea of you arriving at Costa Coffee in evening attire wearing a tiara, white gloves and a string of pearls....never feel that you are overdressed though, life is always better when we make a little effort I say, however, don't be at all surprised if Yvonne arrives in a 90's inspired shell suit! Elaine, hope you get yourself sorted properly at the GP's tomorrow, you've such a lot on your plate at the minute and need a sympathetic ear and helpful hand. Poor Andrew though, i was hoping that the injections were helping but didn't factor in the chemotherapy's effects.Fingers crossed things improve for him because he is so close to the end zone. Hugs to you both. Tina, great idea to craft and distract, i always find that it can be the best tonic because it occupies your thoughts and actions even if its only a temporary relief it can help hugely. Take care, hugs to you and Owen. P, the babies must be getting big now, have they been integrated into the family yet or are you still keeping them separate? I sometimes find two fur babies a handful so you have my respect and admiration regarding your brood! Pat, Many Happy Returns, hope you've had a fab birthday! June, good luck with your last physio appointment, you've done so, so well! All my usual big squishy hugs to Myra, Pam, Frances, Maria, Deb C, Wheely, Lynda, Tracy, Norah and all my other besties, hope that you are all wellxxx
Oh Sue oh Sue oh Sue!! You know I am a huge fan of anything Shadow Box. This is so fantastic. Love the colours they are striking. I know not all of those pesky men are sporty but I know many who are x Needless to say I have these dies because I have everything Shadow Box or Shadow Box related. You can make a really detailed card or a quick and simple card with them. They are pure genius x I know many of you like to wait until Sue's fabulous launch is bestowed upon us in all it's glory so I will not give anything away. All I will say is that you are in for a mighty fine treat. The new dies are completely A-MAY-ZING!!!! x The 'Wrinklies' are plodding along the road to recovery x Mum has spent her first day at home and I am glad to say is behaving!! My dad could do with a stint on the naughty step but I'm cutting him some slack. Lol x Elaine - hope Dr gets you sorted - take it easy. Love to Andrew as well x Tina T - love and hugs to you and Owen x Nanna Tina - love and hugs x Pam - rest up and get better x Maureen - just to prove I am not completely heartless I will let you off the curtseying because of your dodgy knees. However you must remember not to make eye contact - it's just not the done thing. Not long now. Prepare yourself x June - a retreat - is the world ready for us all? x Sam - I love your comments. You are amazing the way you notice everything. Please do not apologise - you're wonderful x OK lovely people. At this point I was going to watch Silent Witness but we have football on instead. So I am taking myself to bed and am going to watch one of the weekend shows on Hochanda which I missed x Sending loads of love to everyone especially all my brilliant blog besties - you know who you are. Oh and you to Laine x Take care Happy thoughts and crafty hugs PP Yvonne x

ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea these shadow box cards, so versatile for anyone.
ReplyDeleteI had a go at the ginger and milk tree card and I must say the 2 colours go so well together, but if you'd seen me yesterday, it ended up that I couldn't see the 'wood for the tree's. I followed your instructions but I just couldn't get it right so I had to try it another way but I got there in the end. However I now have enough trees and cut shapes to make a forest of cards!
Have a good day everyone luv jxxx

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteFab. card, also loving the colours.

Dear Sue and my fellow Particraft followers,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sporty and neither is my dad, but the way you did the red, white and blue had me picturing Stars and Stripes and wondering what else I could put in the boxes for a patriotic card.
Love, Donita in R.I.
Morning Sue, love Tuesdays as we always get a video and who could complain when you show us a fantastic card for the men in our lives. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWendyx
Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteReally lovely card and I have to say the Shadow Box sets are lovely.

Magnificent! I love getting man card ideas and this is a winner! Would love to see a set of shadowbox dies of hunting/fishing or race cars! Stock car racing not drag or truck racing though! TFS!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I love all of your shadow box cards and this one is no exception.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card for the men ....I am usually at a loss on what to do for the guys.
The shadow boxes are great for the guys ...in fact everyone, think that is why the shadow boxes are so versatile.
Thanks again Sue for all the ideas.

Hi, Sue,
ReplyDeleteGreat card and I love the colours.
ReplyDeletePam keep resting my lovely, big hugs. xx
Tina T and Owen, in my thoughts big hugs. xx
Nanna tina big hugs for you too.
Sending big hugs to all especially my besties .

and save all that stress.
Lovely card Sue. Will look at the video later. Unfortunately none of my family are sporty so don't think I will be buying this one but love the new dies and have seen several I would like. Will wait to see what you do with them first. Thank you Sue.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteLovely shadow box card today. Suitable for a sporty person, or just a mans card.
Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteThe Shadow Box concept has to be one of your more ingenious creations to date, i never tire of seeing your samples utilising these fabulous dies.
Besides, I don't think my purse strings would stretch to children and a crafting/shopping addiction:-)
How nice to see Yvonne back on the blog again, i have advised her to get plenty of rest prior to her audience with Maureen.....meeting your adoring public can be such a strain you know, i have that issue all the time:-) I wonder if she will make the same efforts with the dress code as Maureen will, it's so difficult choosing an outfit when the world is watching and then copying though, she likes to think of herself as a leader of fashion but in reality she has a lot to learn...i tried tutoring her on how to dress like a lady but she chose to ignore my advice I'm afraid so Maureen , if anything, may feel slightly overdressed for the occasion:-)
Maureen, i love the idea of you arriving at Costa Coffee in evening attire wearing a tiara, white gloves and a string of pearls....never feel that you are overdressed though, life is always better when we make a little effort I say, however, don't be at all surprised if Yvonne arrives in a 90's inspired shell suit!
Crafty love and hugs

Sam - I love your comments. You are amazing the way you notice everything. Please do not apologise - you're wonderful x
