Expressions

Good morning all!  Another post for my Expressions category, but this one is a bit different.  Rather than a word or phrase, this is my first alphabet offering.  There are two sets on offer this blog post; the Art Deco Upper Case Alphabet and the Art Deco Lower case and Numbers set.  I wanted something that was stylish but yet still readable.  I have had so many requests for Art Deco themed dies that I thought it would bee beautiful to incorporate that style into an alphabet.  Show here in this sample, I have used the lower case as a negative background and used the upper case for my focal element.  These will really come in handy for those males cards too.  It isn't too early to think about Father's Day, they will be just right for that occasion!  Leave a comment to be included in the drawing for either of these sets!  Next post 10am!  All for now, Sue x

  2. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, so pleased that you have brought out the alphabet and numbers in the die sets, and what a clever way of using the piece with the cut outs on it, well I think that is what you have done, so lay the dies randomly onto your card and run them through the machine, then you have the letters to use but you can also use the piece that is left as a background especially as a backdrop with gilding flakes, now that is a grand idea, brilliant.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  11. BIG Sunday smiles. Oh my word Sue, how effective and down right clever to use the alpha negative for the background lol you just never stop do you ? I'd like to know how much sleep you and your OH gets per night, I don't believe you completely shut off, you must have a note book by the side of your bed to capture your ideas lol !! If us mere mortals get designs/ideas going through our minds just as we are settling for the night, your head must be buzzin constantly. Your head doesn't look that big on HOCHANDA so how come you can fit this almighty humungous brain into it beats me. These are a must and need you can never have too many alpha dies in my opinion, in fact they are as important to craft projects as butter is for hot toast 😊 imagin putting baby's name to a card with the New Additions cuties.... wow, the orders I do just love it when the recipient's name goes on the card, so yet another two for my list, and maybe a few more by the end of the day no doubts !
Have set the CE shows to record today just in case it clashes with another peekaboo of your new collection, too much for my brain to remember, your posts and John's show's = brain shut down lol.
Have a great day Sue and thank you xx

  20. Beautiful card Sue, Alphabet and numbers are always useful.

Your new dies have taken us to some exotic and tropical places. The new Indian Ocean Collection is magical and I love the new Baby dies, now the new Configurations and Expressions dies to complete the look.

Your dies just keep getting better and better. I must get them all but I’m spoilt for choice so they are all going to the top of my MOST WANTED list, although I think the Background dies and the Butterflies are my favourites.

Enjoyed all the cards you have made from the new collection so far and can’t wait to see more.....

    Thank you, so much Sue,

I will admit to having a number of alphabet dies in my stash. I get quite a few requests for personalised cards, especially for new baby cards. Love the fact that it is a single die. It can be such a faf trying to juggle tiny little individual letters.
The way you have used the 'waste' to create the amazing background is so ingenious I love that idea. Will be stealing that one x
So Sue, you have, yet again, given me/us the perfect, beautiful, must have, faultless die which I know will be overused by me. Thank you so much x

  122. Good morning lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Boy, I'm not going to make a habit of this, commenting at this early hour is really taking its toll on me, I'm a physical wreck!:-). I tried to comment before the 10am post went live but I'm not superhuman, I need my beauty sleep.
The Art Deco alphabet dies were well worth dragging myself out of bed for though, they are scrumptious and so versatile, a must have for any serious crafter. I adore the font, who doesn't like Art Deco after all?
I have a super busy day today, as Yvonne says...I refuse to call her Princess...it's only two more sleeps till I travel south and I still have oodles to do:-( Promised my mum I'd do the packing today, after all she has been badgering me for a fortnight to begin, and I have some ironing and a sunbed to go to so its all go. My comments may not be up to their usual standard, I do apologise but needs must and I will try my best.
Daily hugs to my beasties, especially Maria, pat, pam, P, Theresa, June, France's, wheely, Alison, Lorraine, Beth, Norah, Rebecca, Deb c, Jan and anyone else in need of a cuddle.

Your card is really beautiful and a fab idea to make the background using the negative piece of your die cut outs !!! I love the gilding flakes you have used. I always get in a right mess when trying to use mine !!! Thank you for bringing out two essential alphabet die sets. I can see myself using these loads. A big thumbs up from me !!! 140. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
It's nice to have the extra punctuation marks included like speech marks, brackets, etc. as most alphabets only have the most common ones like the ampsand, question mark, and the long thin one with the dot at the bottom(not very up on what they are called, sorry). A nice readable alphabet that you don't need to screw up your eyes to read. Thank you flower for a great male card that surely any one of the species would like.
    Love and crafty hugs

  147. Hello Sue,
I'm late but I was out this morning so just catching up now! I have been waiting to see the alphabet dies as I have one set of capitals but can't get a matching lower case set! I find them very useful when making things with the children ! Particularly Mother's Day etc. Your letters a great size and easily read., unlike some of the ones I have! They have shot up my list!
I love the card and how you used the waste - such a clever idea! It reminded me of a background stamp called Alphabet Soup! I remember you using that a fair while ago!
Did I beat Brenda again!! Ha ha!
Love to all, Myra Y. Xxx

  148. Brilliant alphas Sue, not too plain but easy to read. If they are just one plate that makes them even better as that's so easy to use and you can use the waste as you have done.
    Absolutely top notch.
    See you later :)

  149. This is a very useful set of dies that can be used to very good effect when existing ready made terms or expressions may not be appropriate. Like others before me, using them for male cards springs to mind especially or numbers for particular ages. I like the way you have combined negative and positive aspects of these dies here.

AT last, a set of alphabet dies from someone who knows to make them both functional and beautiful. I'm sure these will be used over and over. I like the clever way you used the negative part of the lower case alphabet to create your background.

What a great alphabet. If a word or sentiment is not clear, it's a lost opportunity. These dies are just gorgeous. I do like the way you've used the lower case font as your background. My step-daughter has recently finished her graphic degree, and something like this (perhaps with some flowers or butterflies) would go down so well with her! Best wishes, Anne O (Epsom)
