Best Wishes

Hello crafters!  Today's video card shows ways to use a couple of dies together in  ways you may not have imagined them.  The word die makes a beautiful negative and did you know that you can create lovely corners by nipping into some of your dies too!

The finished dimensions are 8" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card today Sue lovely effect using your paper pad. Will watch video later.
Well looking forward to tonight's meal for our Wedding Anniversary , first time out at night for Peter since our holidays in June!!
Well he got another letter from the hospital yesterday and you've guessed it same date as the one last week. This one is to have his Nephrectomy tube replaced, so rang to see what the other appointment was for !!!! It was for his Zolodex injection which the Macmillan nurse gave him last week - hence this one is cancelled and his next injection is 18th October.
Just checked the lottery won £25 on my lucky dip and £3 for the bonus ball on my thunderball tickets .
Love and crafty hugs to all who need them,

  17. Morning Sue. This is just so pretty. It's one that makes your heart smile. Delicate form start to finish, and apart from the Perspective died I do have the Maggie die plus your paper pack (which won't be used may I add) ! Lol so I will catch the tutorial later as just had a message through to say the 'keeper' and his dog are making their way back from the country park (minus bad smells I hope) !

  28. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a really delicate looking card today, will watch the video when my breakfast comes, hubby is cooking it now.
Pre-op assessment went well yesterday, my blood pressure was up a bit (only to be expected I thought) but the anesthetist checked the ECG and said I must not take my blood pressure tablet on the morning of the surgery, they will probably do the epidural and sedation method, I said as long as I don’t know anything about it that is fine with me. Surgery is booked for 13th October, only another 15 days but who is counting………………..thanks for all your well wishes yesterday.

Also in our small craft group we raised £125 at the McMillan coffee morning, so pleased about that.

Tracy – what wonderful news that you are all clear, fantastic, I am so pleased for you both – the side effects will recede, don’t worry about them, I know a year seems such a long time but it will come round quickly and then the ivf treatment can start again, I am so, so happy for you. xxx

Myra and Maureen – thank you both for your wishes, I hope you have a great group meeting up in Carlisle and would welcome the ‘thinkalong get better’, every little bit helps. Are you both really angelic, would love to be a fly on the wall. xx

Izzy – not said when the new knee will be able to bear some weight however, my friend had hers done about 2 months ago and they got her up and walking within 6 hours, admitted she is not as big as me but I am sure I will be up very soon after the op.

Norah – you made me laugh, all afternoon and evening to put up 4 tiles, he must be a perfectionist……..when do you want it finished!! – Never mind it will look good once it is done. I agree about the gilding wax, but I might have another go and see if I can do it with one of those finger thingies.

Elaine, had a great Macmillan coffee morning at craft club, I won 3 raffle prizes but gave one back as my friend is doing another one on Friday at her home, hopefully she will raise lots and lots of money, my craft ladies were very supportive and almost everyone brought in something to raffle – I took in some promarkers and a promarkers folder. Pleased to hear that Andrew is due to start his treatment today, fingers crossed that all goes well, big hugs to him. xxx

Pam – hope you enjoyed the Isle of Wight, I have spent many a happy year there on holiday, where about’s on the Island did you go.

Tina T & Peter - pleased all went well with the dressing change. Happy Anniversary to you both, enjoy your meal together, hugs x

Tina and Mick - sending special hugs to you both. x

Laine and Yvonne, oh you two really do make me laugh with your banter, I have tears rolling down my face this morning reading yesterdays blog, I would love to spend some time with you both (perhaps at the next Ally Pally), I bet it would be a laugh a minute, isn’t it wonderful to have such lovely friends.

Tres, hope you are feeling a little better this morning, Vertigo is not nice.

Oh here comes breakfast, catch you all later.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  44. Hi Sue,

What a gorgeous card - love how the inner dies from Melbourne work so well with the outer from the Happily Ever After set - that's the main thing that sets your dies apart from all the others on the market, the dies mix and match so beautifully together, makes them such great value for our hard-earned pennies!

June - they had her up and about within 6 hours?!...how long before she could dance the jig?...lol

Tracy - that is wonderful news, so happy for you...

  84. Your "Happily Ever After" die makes a lovely delicate die cut. I like how you trimmed down the die for the corners on this card. I have been playing around with the Pixie Powders. So much fun. It is very tempting to want to squeeze that bottle of Pixie Powder! I am still at the phase of adding too much powder and too much water on my paper. I was amazed at how neat and tidy you were on your Pixie Powder demo. And you did not end up with blue hands! I seem to get powder everywhere. John Next Doors' idea of soaking up excess pigment with a sheet of kitchen roll; and using the dried kitchen roll piece as a glued down piece on a card layer makes me feel like I have not wasted my Pixie Powder. Thanks for the clear instructional video.

  94. Hi Sue
Love this frame. I have it in my arsenal and have only used it once but as ever you inspiration is pushing me to make better use of it. How clever you are. It does seem so obvious to use the frame to make corners but as always it can be staring me in the face and I still don't see it. Thanks Sue x
I adore your papers but as yet (because I love them so much) have only admired and stroked their beauty but think I should give myself a strict talking to and dive in x
Hoping that this comment will not disappear like yesterday's first attempt. As you can imagine I have quite alot to say because of the mishap of the vanishing first attempt x
Just taking advantage of some peace and quiet. George not in from work yet and Jake in the man cave. It won't be too long before the Neanderthal type grunts begin of what's for dinner and when is it ?! Well I am feeling a little smug as it is ready to go and will be ready for 7. Chicken casserole in slow cooker. Cabbage shredded and green beans sliced ready to steam. And the best bit - potatoes peeled to make fabulous scabby crispy roast potatoes - Lorraine's favourite x
I will enjoy them all the more knowing that she is unable to match my culinary expertise when it comes to the art of crusty potatoes! You either have it or you don't. I have it and she certainly does not x
Tracy - sending you great big warm well done superstar hugs. So thrilled to hear your good news. So brilliant. Onwards and upwards. The next big important goal is mastering the pixie powders but do not take notice of anyone who suggests that you will be pinching my royal title of Princess! Not gonna happen x
Tina T - happy anniversary. I hope you have a lovely time when you go go out for your meal. Sounds like you are a little closer to that £1 million win x
Pam - sounds like you are having a lovely holiday. I have never bee to Stonehenge so am a little jealous. The Isle of Wight on the other hand is our holiday destination of choice and has been for years. This week would have been the ideal opportunity to steal your early bird status but I respect you far too much to do that. If you believe that then I am 6 foot tall, blonde and 24!! Far too early for me 6am. I will let you have that one x
June - 13th October is not long to wait. If we manage to meet up at Ally Pally you'll be chomping at the bit with your new hip. We can park Laine in the corner in her wheelchair and I could enjoy my day with someone who has a bit of class!! Well done on the coffee morning. Hugs x
Maria - so lovely to see you. Please don't encourage Laine to come again. Her diva like behaviour goes way beyond the realms of impossible. Between you and me the house is on the market and I'm not going to tell her when I move. Cosmetic surgery booked to dramatically change my appearance beyond recognition. Desperate measures I know but if you had tolerated her for over a week you would understand!! Lol x
Theresa W - where are you off to?
Tres - hope the vertigo clears up. Sending you healing hugs x
Deb C - only two more sleeps and we'll have Hochanda back. Sorry that you are having to deal with your FIL's flat. Hope everything goes smoothly. Hugs x
Myra and Maureen - I so believe that you are quiet timid little wallflowers! Ha. Me too! I hear Carlisle and surrounding areas are being evacuated due to the upcoming noise pollution! Hugs to you both x
Elaine - hope everything went according to plan for Andrew today. Your cake sounded divine yesterday x
P - how very dare you. I am and will always be the undisputed Princess of all Pixies x

  95. Part 2 - sorry!! x
Lesley S - so lovely to meet any Wilsonettes at Ally Pally and be able to put names to faces. Fingers crossed you will return next year x
Laine - as expected I gave into temptation last night and made toffee apple crumble and served it with cream when the girls came round. I will think of you whilst gloating when I tuck into a pile of roasties that is large enough to satisfy a rugby team (or would that be me being satisfied by the rugby team, lol)! Either way, the potatoes are looking mighty fine x
OK folks. This time tomorrow we will be eagerly waiting our great leaders appearance. What a perfect way to spend a Friday evening!!

Pam - it sounds as if you had a lovely day yesterday! So pleased you are enjoying your holiday. Enjoy dinner and quiz tonight!
Tracy - I left a comment yesterday just under your own! Great news! It made me smile and I've never even met you! That's what this lovely blog does!
Diane - pity they've done away with Concorde your nose might have fitted in there! Ha ha!
PP - thanks for the hugs! I believe they are putting out the bunting in readiness for our arrival! Dinner sounds yummy!
Tina and Peter - Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your meal.
Love to everyone , Myra xxx

  106. Hi sue and everyone

What a gorgeous card. Love the colours and paper pad. The dies cuts used are so pretty and delicate.

Tracy, so so pleased for you. You must be on cloud nine! Sorry you are still struggling with the effects of chemo though. Hopefully crafting, seeing the daily masterpieces from Sue and all the banter and good wishes on this blog will help to offer some relief though. X

June Smith, I'm so glad the pre-op assessment went well. Roll on the 13th for you. My father in law had his knee done a few years ago. He has never looked back. He sailed through the surgery with no problems and was soon walking properly again and free from pain. X

Tina T , Happy Anniversary. I hope you are enjoying your meal out. Congratulations on the lottery wins too. X

Pam, I'm glad that you are enjoying a lovely holiday. Nice to be kept informed of what you are up to as well. X

June Horrocks, I hope your skin graft went well and you are not in too much pain. X

Laine and Yvonne, I bet it's strange not being together now isn't it? Nice you can keep in touch by phone though. X

    Love Helen xxx

P.P. you will always be royalty to me!! Rest assured that Myra (who admits to being odd ha ha) will be the very epitome of refinement and ladylike behaviour!! Oops, my nose just grew a wee bit longer!!!
June it'll all be over soon and once you have recovered you will be so pleased to be pain free and able to kick your height again!!!
