Hello bloggers! Welcome to the fourth die release of 2016! I am always a bit excited and a bit nervous every time I have a new die release, but I think I am more excited this time! I have really enjoyed creating with this latest release! I have decided to start with my latest country collection which, as it happens is actually an Ocean instead of a country! Introducing the Indian Ocean Collection. First up today is the Background to the collection. I had a lot of fun making a split negative design for this sample (I just love my black and white with a pop of colour!) I do hope this one will whet your appetite for the rest to follow. As always, one of each die design will be given away through drawings that will be done and posted after the launch so you want to be sure to leave comments on each and every blog post for the next five days to be included in as many drawings as possible. I will post the winners of the dies on Tuesday Sept 20th. The drawings will have to be delayed slightly as I will be away doing Ally Pally shortly after the launch. Again as always, since I have many people with the same first names on the blog, I ask that you sign your comments with either your full name, an alias, a funny nickname, perhaps the city you live in (such as Janice in Brighton) or some other way in which to identify you as that person. I only have one set to give away so I need to make sure that you know that it is you if your name is drawn. One comment per person per post please. I know that duplicates sometimes get done by accident so I will remove any extras, but there will be 25 blog posts so 25 chances to win! The next blog post will be at 10am today so lease check back then! All for now,

Wonderful start to the blog launch, gorgeous dies and card.
ReplyDeleteElaine, Robbie is my nephew in America, 2 years ago he had a skateboard accident and shattered his neck vertebrae and had to have donor bone implanted. The diagnosis was that he was quadraplegic but my brother, sister in law refused to accept that. George massaged his limbs all day every day for weeks until he gradually moved his toes and fingers. He spent months in rehab but with his determination he has got to where he is today. He will never be completely well but we are so grateful that he survived and for his progress. He is now 21 yrs old. The blog ladies were fantastic with their support during this very hard time. Hope you and Andrew are well.
Tina and Mick, Tina T and Peter, daily hugs, hope you are all doing better.
Prayers for Emily. Grow cells grow .
Tracey, hope you are doing better.
Steph enjoy your holiday, you deserve it.
Hugs to all including our poorly blog buddies.
Morning Sue, gorgeous card for the first die release looking forward to all the rest.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh gosh Sue, you have really popped it for me with this background die, the possibilities are endless, I have my cutting scissors out already as the ideas are popping into my head. I used to be so afraid no not really afraid but sad to cut into a die shape but following your inspiration and how you can transform the look of something just by a nip here and a tuck there, well I am hooked.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to everyone who comments on this wonderful blog hop, let's hope you got lots of new bloggers joining the Wilsonettes group, it is my first fix of the day, haha, now no jokes please.
Pam I knew of the 'accident' to Robbie but did not know what had happened, I think I joined Sue's blog just after it happened, but wow your brother George and family were so determined, it is amazing what can be achieved. Happy progress Robbie, enjoy every day. xx
Lynda, Myra and to everyone who commented - craft club was good yesterday, nearly everyone made a shaker card, we had one lady who is in her 80's now, and she makes lovely cards, and also a fairly new recruit - I think she has been with us about a year now, anyway went through each stage with them, step by step, and you should have seen their faces when there cards were put together, this to me is what belonging and running a craft club is all about. I am so proud of our group, not everyone wants to make a card on the day, one lady is getting ready for her Sisters wedding next week so for weeks has been making table decorations etc. they are stunning, wish you could see them, but what I was meaning to say is that it is a craft club not a workshop as such, we all do what we want on the day, mind you it is lovely when everyone makes the card I have selected for that week, makes me feel dead chuffed, I we all learn from each other.
Laine - sorry about your friend being so depressed, I know you are there for her with support and a listening ear.
Princess Pixie - I hope you are feeling better today, you have to get your strength up, not long now to AP.
Myra (florida) - grow cells grow
Tin - Nice to see that Mick has not lost his appetite, he is determined to put on weight, good for him, all those lovely goodies.
Elaine - sending you and Andrew hugs.
Tina T - Peter know you are up and down but you will get there, sending gentle hugs to you.
Been up since 4am could not sleep with this humidity and heat, so am going to make another cup of tea, catch you all later 10am for next session.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

ReplyDeleteOh how glorious. The Indian Ocean dies are as their name suggests are stunningly beautiful x
This card is absolutely striking. It is almost 'optical illusion' like. The black and white with the simple pop is a sure fire winner every time x
I just want you to be aware that there are not many people in fact I can't think of anyone who could actually be worth my participating in any activity at this completely alien time of day x
If you could understand the levels of excitement and feelings of happiness you bring to us every day with this amazing blog, let alone the mass hysteria you create when we are included in your amazing launches, you would know that your nerves are simply not necessary!!
In my eyes you can do no wrong! But I do tend to forget that you are actually human and not a Goddess with super powers and not immune to the emotions and worries that us mere mortals experience!!
I say it every launch but this one has topped the last and I have been particularly excited as it does include my requests and needs. Still a little sore that the 'Yvonne' die is absent but my campaign will continue. Lol x
Pam - Robbie is remarkable. I did not know the full story regarding his accident as I came to the blog after it happened. His parents sound truly amazing. They, and you must be so full of pride. Hugs x
June - I am on an energy conserving mission form the foreseeable. Commenting this early and so frequently during this launch will be my focus. My long term goal - to make sure I am on top form for my 'Sue stalking duties' at Ally Pally. Your craft club sounds wonderful. So lovely to be able to meet up with crafty friends. When will they be let loose with Pixie Powders? That will be fun. Hugs x
Myra - liking the nice you and as this side of you does not happen that often I feel honoured. Hugs x
Maria - can you I imagine the carnage if we all lived in close proximity. I dread to think. Lol. Where abouts are you? Hugs x
Lynda - I am building up my form to more than tip top for forthcoming visits etc. My form doesn't stay down very long but my body does take a while to realise sometimes! Lol. Pampering from Laine??? I think not. She is lucky to be in my presence but don't want her touching me!!! Hope your wrist has improved - lots of typing over the next few days. Hugs x
Laine - bet you are still in the land of nod. You need to make an effort girl - watch and learn. Hugs x
Tracy - hope you are OK hun. Hugs x
Lorraine - nice to see you. Huggles x
Sending love and hugs to Myra and Emily from Florida, Tina and Mick, Elaine and Andrew and Tina T and Peter x

Hi Sue, well you have certainly started the launch with a bang! Like Alison my eyes went funny when I first looked at the card and we share a dislike of so much black but I think the design is brilliant and something I may well try in different colours. Love the pop of red from the flowers. Oh yes, and the dies are gorgeous :-)
ReplyDeleteMyra in Florida - prayers for Emily, grow cells grow.

Good morning Sue and all of the Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteSorry Sue that i haven't been around but i go down so badly leading up to my Mum and my brothers anniversarys that i am no use to anyone seeing my greetin face. I am so lucky this year as beautiful friends decided that i was going to have something else to do yesterday instead of being on my own. You don't realise just what you have done in bringing so many lovely people to here and them meeting up, i for one am so grateful the day that i actually managed to copy down this blog name, thank you flower for giving me some of the most beautiful friends in the world.
This is the first day in a wee while that i have actually been able to get myself to come in again and i come into a lovely new set of dies. The card is giving me the glenny blinks being half and half but this is the kind of card Jim and i would have got for our birthdays, like our birthday cake which was half and half. I love the asters that you have put on the front of the card as it is just a lovely bit of colour but not too bright. I have a friend who although a man, he loves flowers so would love to get this card through his door. Thank you Sue for a lovely die set and now i can imagine myself on that beach at Goa or one of the Indian islands.
love and crafty hugs
Norah x
What a stunning background and brilliant that it contains so many separate dies, my brain cannot cope with the card though.
ReplyDeleteI have seen most of the dies from this launch but love seeing your first take on them.
Myra in Florida, grow cells grow.
June , I used to run a craft group with my friend and so I understand your pleasure and I too would join your group if I was closer.
Pam, it's so great to hear how well Robbie is doing and wow to his family's determination.
Laine, my heart goes out to your friend. Having suffered with depression over many years I can emphasise. Hugs for you both as it's so hard listening to such hardship.
Will comment more later

Yesterday was the hike up the slemish mountain. Half way up I slipped in muck and twisted my ankle but I wasn't gonny let that stop me from getting to the top to spread dads ashes. We made it up in an hour an a half and got hubby to video it for my sister to see.
My ankle this morning is a little puffy but I don't mind at least I got to the top. Had a lovely time staying with my dads friends and will be back over another time.
Pat L. Maybe next time I'm over I'll have more time and maybe we could meet up?
Pam. Can't believe that's been two years since Robbies accident. It's amazing what canbe accomplished when we put our minds to it. My hat goes off to him.
Laine. Sorry to hear about ur friends rough time. I'm glad she's got u to listen and help when u can. X
Princess pixie. I hope u e got ur boys warned about Laines imminent arrival lol ur in for a treat!! Xx
Love to all xx

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteYippee! The much anticipated day has finally arrived and I'm cock a hoop at the prospect of multiple posts and gorgeous examples of your talent.
What a beautiful place to begin, the Indian Ocean, with a background die equal to its beauty and majesty. This card made me a bit cross eyed when I first saw it....though that could have been my bleary eyes after a rough night...but in saying that it didn't in anyway detract from its beauty and impact. It has all the drama of the opening act to a fantastic show of delights. I look forward to seeing what else you have in store for us today. I'm keeping this brief because I'm clearly running behind today, hoe to catch up with proceedings as we go alongxxxx

Sue,
ReplyDeleteThese dies are absolutely wonderful!!!
They are very different from your others.
I think the Mauritius is my favorite. I love the swirls and the lines together.... but they are all so beautiful!!!!
I look forward to seeing lots of cards made with these dies.
The cards here are fantastic and show off the dies very nicely.
Thanks Sue, for more wonderful creations!!!!!

Sue, I thought I was on the Mauritius die when I wrote the above comment.
ReplyDeleteI love this Background die too. It is wonderful!!!!
So many possibilities with it.
Thank you for all your wonderful new creations.

Loving the background die though the jury is still out on the split card lol. I think I would have preferred it in one or the other colourway, but it does make you think "out of the box", which I guess is always a good thing.

Hi sue, and I love too your black and white card with a pop of colour!it makes me want to try to use this method in the horizontal direction also. I love the new flowers which are so pretty! BRAVO LOVE from Switzerland isabelle Cimbali
ReplyDeleteHi Sue - love this. I do find the background dies so useful as there are so many dies that can be used on their own. X
ReplyDeleteGreat start to another few days of fun. Love the split design you did.
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me how the die cuts look so different when they are cut out using different color card stock. And your black and white card today is no exception. I think your background die sets give one the most versatility of all your "country" die sets, including this "ocean" die set. Good job on the newest dies. How exciting for you on this launch.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and stunning die set
Thank you

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Wonderful card and fantastic die to start off the new collection. It's so weird the way our brain is tricked to think that the black side of the card looks bigger than the white. It's very striking and I can't wait to see the rest of the collection.
Bejay xx
Great card as usual and love those new dies. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteElaine
Striking card This background can be so feminine and will be great for masculine cards too karenlotty
ReplyDeleteSue, love this new die, I too love black and white with a splash of color but your creativity continues to amaze me daily.

Well helloo clever lady and umero-uno die designer. If this is the first die of the September 2016 collection bring on set 1 2 3 etc as this is lush. Onwards to carry on playing catch up after a day on the beach at Anglesey watching the odd R.A.F jet flyer over - wow 😊
ReplyDeleteOMG!! If this is the way the rest of the dies look then my budget is in deep trouble!!! LOVELOVELOVE this dramatic card and the dies are AMAZING!!! Dying to see them all!!! TFS!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, Stunning card and die. love Jean Z xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, every time you do a launch, I think to myself, I need to have a serious talk with my bank manager, as you make it hard to choose, and I can see this will be no exception. A stunning card, love the colours. Bx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new set of dies, and had a sneak peek on a site offering pre-order so haven't yet decided which ones i want - though i would love them all!!! This card is as stunning as it is unusual and a fabulous way of using the background - even better as you will get two for the price of one due to the way its been cut
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. I am a bit late posting my comments today as I have only just had the chance to look at my e-mails. This is a really stunning die with so much detail and plenty of chances of making different frames in different sizes.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
