Hello crafters! Today's card giveaway is from the Birthday bundle shows. I started with a piece of
coconut white card taped to my craft sheet. I lightly spritzed it with water and used my
Pixie Powders to bring it to life. Tapping the bottles gently to add powder across the card, I used the
Midnight Blue, Teal Wash, Peacock Green and Aqua Lagoon to create a beautiful piece of background card. I spritzed it again once all the powder was applied and watched it burst to life. I dried it with my heat tool then cut the
Birthday Shadow Box die out of it. I also used bits of the leftover to cut the sentiments, cupcakes, balloons and present as well as a poppy as an accent. I added a backing piece to my shadowbox by embossing white card with the
Dot Matrix folder. I used the
Stitched Lattice Frame dies to add a tiered white frame to the card. I cut the
Bern die and nipped it in half and added it to the top and bottom of the card as accents. I used
Frilly Edged white ribbon and added a bow on the side and seated the
poppy in the middle of the bow. I completed the card with
Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge. The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 8 1/2" in size. Please leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card and I will post the winner on Saturday's blog as usual. All for now, Sue x
Lovely card Sue, beautiful. I love this.
ReplyDeleteElaine, I hope the housing dept sort your problem out soon, don't let them leave it too long, get your MP involved, you are going through a hard enough time without that. I hope Andrew is reassured about the pain being healing from surgery,.
Tina, it is terrible to have that financial burden to get the help you need. I'm glad Micks appetite is still good, hope the new meds help the spasms.
Tracey, as always, caring thoughts and hugs for you, and all who are in need or just want a hug.
The Carvery was delicious, Jack had yorkshires mash and some veg. Ryan had 3 meats with his, they are so different for twins.
Fabulous card. I love the colours. I've just made a cards with these dies but used 'safe' colours. I must try to be more adventurous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this Sue.

ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue. This is a fabulous card. I love the verdigris effect that you've achieved with the pixie powders and the framing is wonderful. Hugs to all. Sue xxx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue and all Wilsonettes, now today's card is one I really like, I have been using the Shadow box dies quite a lot, you can use anything in the design, and the balloons with the metallic linx hanging from them looks really effective, yes Sue I am sure you have tried that too.
ReplyDeleteThere are such terrible atrocities happening in our world today, when and how will it end, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been and is still being affected by them, these people in my opinion are barbaric.
Pam, so pleased you liked the carvery, don't worry about Jack not eating meats, my youngest son would not eat meat for years when he was young, he used to gag on it even though it was cut up really, really small, but now he is a strapping man approaching 40 who loves it, as the years go by our taste buds change too, but don't force him or make a big issue out of it, what will be will be.
Tracey, Elaine, Andrew, Tina Mick and everyone else, here are special hugs.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Good morning Sue,

GM Sue. This is fabulous! Love it. Must give it a try.
ReplyDeleteOh my word Sue. I'm presuming you have made a couple of these samples as you do, because if not how can you be so generous (if not slightly crazy) lol and give this away !?? Quick, do a swap over before more people drop by. This isn't a card sample Sue this is a complete gift. It's absolutely stunning, what more can I say. It really is one of those gifts that make you smile as soon as it loads, you are a complete and utter genius at all you do. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI had my Wellington bravery award swapped over yesterday - although Andy had palpitations buying something related to the festive season in July lol but as I usually 'create' for want of a better word, Steph & create are not usually two words I'd put together in the same sentence, but I usually do a small card which has a pocket for gift cards for the festive season, but now I have your stocking die, I can't tell you how useful that will be when I have to start preparing for the November market, so again, thank you for creating this perfect die.
On that note, I will leave you with a bunch of hugs and hope you have an enjoyable day xx
Morning Sue.
ReplyDeleteWow I just love this card thank you so much.
Take care and have fun Kitty.

ReplyDeleteElaine, let's hope this is the start of getting your problem neighbour sorted, how can anyone be so inconsiderate? Surprised at how many have had dreadful things happening, think we have been so lucky in that respect.
Well wishes to everyone who needs them - Mick, Andrew, Wheely, Steph, Y & L plus many others and hugs specially to Tracy.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeletePixi powders are fantastic and I love this colour way. Spent Sunday letting my grand daughter play with the ones I bought recently as she fell in love with them after seeing you demo them. Today is going to be a crafting day as it is raining Monday did not turn out to be one as the day brightened so gardening took my time after the ironing was completed of course!!

Love it - though the bow *may* be a little overkill ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Sue Fab card wonderful colours ,what a great creation i love it !
ReplyDeletePam,,, I had a phone call from a Gentleman yesterday who is going to wright to her , it wont do any good and i told him so, i asked the question about pets ,he said " no you are not allowed pets but someone from the housing did give her permission to have hers " well i don't know much about the law , but at a guess i think under the circumstances i will just be expected to put up with it .I was disturbed again last night with the cat having a run around it woke me at 12 35 and finished playing at 12 50 , not so long but i could not go back to sleep for ages.
Andrew called in to see us yesterday, he does not look at all well , he is expecting to have a letter this week with a date to see his consultant .
Take care everyone big hugs to all.

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteI really MUST get one of the Shadow Box Dies, they are so versatile aren't they. I love the effect you got with the pixie powders (something else to add to my wish list lol).
Sorry I've not been around this week. I've been clearing out the lounge room ready for painting. It was meant to be done and dusted on Saturday but when I was prepping the walls I found a little bit of paint flaking off...out comes my scraper and off comes all the loose paint...almost the entire wall, up to about 5'!! It looks like they put new plaster on the wall and then painted too soon. This set me back a day as I had to slap on some watered down pva glue to seal it and give the new paint something to grab onto.
So, SUnday is painting day. I started at 10:00am and finished just as the news came on at 9:00pm!! At least I had good compant with Johnny Walker, Paul O'Grady and Claudia Winkleman on the radio :).
It didn't finish there...I had to wait for the new carpet to arrive...yes...another string to my bow, I was going to lay my first ever carpet (I've used carpet tiles up to now). Well, that was an ineresting experience I have to say lol. Now I have to get all the furniture back in the room but my back and shoulders are telling me to sit down for a while and catch up with everything online.
Elaine, please get your MP involved with your problem, they really can help. When I lost both parents within 6 months of each other, the housing association were going to throw me out, even though I'd lived in the house for over 30 years! Luckily, mum used to do a lot for the Lib/Dem party in the town (she was brought up as a Liberal) and when one of them came round to offer his condolences I told him what was going on. The next thing I know another councillor comes round and gives me the address of my local MP. I write to him and he really got the ball rolling and I was put right on the top of the emergency housing list. It took 7 months to find a place but I ended up in a really nice ground floor flat. Stayed there 3 years and then moved to Cornwall lol. Anyway, they can do some good. My MP?...Chris Humne!! He may have been a bit of an idiot in his private life, but he went to bat for me. Don't be afraid to get in touch with yours, go to his/her local surgery and get them to help :)
Bejay xx
What a stunning card. It's a ready framed 'picture' for a pride of place on the wall. Hugs, Ivy C x

Annx without an "e"
Beautiful card, very unusual colours that really pop.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, love this card, it would count as a present in its own right. Using the Pixie Dust created card for the frame and parts of the accessories is inspired. I don't have any of the dusts and like 'P' I'm not going there but I may try something similar with alcohol inks for my Christmas shadow box.
ReplyDeleteFrances
Dear Sue, what a wonderful project, again! I love almost all the cards you make. The colours are amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove to all of you

Today's card is really stunning Sue! As if being in my favourite colours isn't enough, I love the effect made by the Pixie Powders. And, of course, I love the dies that make all this possible. :)

Hi sue, wow wow, love it, right up my street, the colour, everything, crafty hugs Julie laz xxx
ReplyDeleteWow what a stunning card, I will have to succumb to the pixie powders when I go to the show in September. Only if I get on and use some of my other stash first though!
ReplyDeleteMissed posting yesterday as Claire (my youngest) and I went shopping. Both of us being well endowed find bra shopping a nightmare so had to go to Gloucester. We both got what we needed and she managed to get some other bits for her holiday so that was a success. Of course it tired me out but I enjoyed spending time with her.
Hubby had a shock when he tried gently waking me just before ten as I started screaming and hitting out. I was terrified and didn't have a clue as to what was going on. That's not a reaction I have had before and neither of us wants a repeat. Poor man kept apologising. It took me about twenty minutes to come round properly so I could go up to bed, I think I will blame my meds for it.
Sorry for not commenting on everyone's news but my brain is foggy and I misplaced my notebook.
Sending love n hugs to all xxx

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteWhat a showstopper! You always save a real gem for your giveaway Sue but today's card is that and then some. I have been excited by the shadow boxes since they were launched, they are just so versatile and extremely useful for tricky customers such as teens and men. Whilst they are stunning in plain cardstock, using the pixie powders has elevated it to something unique and very eye catching, the colours used are gorgeous....I particularly love the floral element cut in the matching colour tones. Who wouldn't want to adopt this card? I feel that I have been fortunate enough in the past being named as a lucky winner on various giveaways but I am unashamedly greedy and to me the ultimate prize is one of your cards framed in my craftroom:-) I'm not embarrassed to say that I hope that I win this little beauty, but in failing that, I hope that it gets a loving, nurturing adoptive home where it will have pride of place:-)
Apologies for my rude absence yesterday but I was flagging after a busy day shopping....it didn't help that Yvonne placed unreasonable demands on my time at a totally unsuitable moment.....I fear brushing her off will mean that she won't allow me a place to stay for Ally Pally weekend so I am forced to tolerate her whining and inane chit chat until then, goodness knows how I'm going to cope with over a week of it:-0 , any suggestions that don't involve drugging, tying her up and gagging her, locking her in a cupboard etc?
I am feeling incredibly distressed today, Brodie is getting far too proficient at catching sparrows and he has now cottoned on that they will be released if he brings them home alive so the past few have heartbreakingly been deceased :-( You are bound as a good parent to praise him for being a good boy but I really wish he was crap at it thus saving the local sparrow population. He's been ingratiating himself with the neighbours as well, we live next to a sheltered housing complex and he has taken to popping through the open windows to say hello to the residents, he would make an excellent Therapy Animal because he loves all the attention and fuss and is really friendly. I do worry that he gets trapped somewhere after being too nosy though....
Elaine, sorry the noise has resumed but hopefully the housing association can help or your local MP- please keep a diary though and record the noise if possible because you really need concrete evidence. Hope Andrew perks up again, iron deficiency can really wipe you out the poor soul, sending hugsxxxx
Pam, glad you enjoyed your meal, my cousin was notoriously difficult and would only eat crisps and toast for years, boys seem to be far fussier than girls but often do grow out of it with peer pressure.
Bejay, you sound so useful to have around, very handy with a paintbrush and carpet knife:-) I'm rubbish at DIY and have to rely on the goodwill of unsuspecting men to perform any tasks, pathetic it know but I do the damsel in distress so well now:-)
Yvonne, I hope that you ironed a few things out with George's new landlady, it's unfortunate that the situation looks permanent now but at least you know he's settled. How dare you insinuate that I moan!!??! I am the picture of tolerance, humility and kindness otherwise I wouldn't be seen giving you the time of day!:-)xxxx
Sending hugs to Tracy, Wheely bad, Beth ,pat, Theresa, Maria, Frances, Rebecca, Jan, and anyone else struggling and in need of a cuddlexxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card for the giveaway, I have this die set and love it
Mick managed to sit in his reclining chair but it is too small for him so we are waiting for it to be changed had his weetabix, kebab and chips and chocolate Swiss roll and ice cream, weather a bit cooler, had eyes tested and getting tinted lenses to help with his blown pupil
Thank you to each and every one of you for all your kind words and hugs
Happy crafting
