Thanks

Hello my crafty friends!   Today's card offering was one of the demos from the shows on Saturday.  It had been damaged quite badly making the trip across the pond, but I had some time before the shows and I was able to put a new frame on it!    I started by cutting the Swiss Background out of aqua card.  I used the inside cutting edge to cut it into a frame but I left a wide margin around the outer art of it so I was able to add mounting foam there.  I embossed a piece of white card with the Daisy Burst embossing folder and seated the frame over it for a bit of texture showing through.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Rectangle dies and cut a frame for it.  I set up three consecutive dies to create the frame and embossed first, then removed the middle die and cut the frame.  I added it with foam over the background die.  For the focal element in the middle, I cut the Zurich die out of white and backed it with aqua card.  I cut it down the centre and removed a section, then reassembled it and added it to the middle of the frame.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the oval in the middle of the Swiss Background die and added it with foam.  Finally, I cut several Exquisite Poppies out of aqua card and added them with a satin ribbon bow around the sentiment covering the join lines in the die.  I completed the card with a white, aqua, white mat sequence.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  4. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a truly beautiful card today, saw it and you on Hochanda yesterday what a fab few hours it was too, pleased to see that you are getting the presenters to help with the turning of the spellbinder, it certainly helps doesn't it. I am going to have a go at this one soon, we might do it in our craft class as it is a special card for any occasion.

My hugs as always are with everyone who needs them, Tina, Mick, Elaine, Andrew, Tracey and your Sister and Pat and Sarah to name but a few.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Smashing card this morning. I love the colour combo. Still getting the hang of making frames as I get confused easily on what ones I need to use from set a & b then they get mixed up as I get untidy lol.

Well ladies. Today some of dads ashes are getting buried in the cemetery along side my gran and grandpa. The rest is to be distributed between several places that him and his partner Kate used to visit and I'll keep a little for myself.
Then the next few days will be clearing out his flat :-(

What a pretty card, the aqua always looks so delicate. I'm amazed your samples always look so tidy after the journey they have and of course the delicate touch of baggage handlers. 82. Hello Sue,
Now that's what I call a frame!!! It's beautiful and showcases your lovely focal point perfectly! So far I've only seen one Show! I fell asleep on the chair watching the second! Believe me you didn't bore me I was just tired having had a long busy day!
Elaine - so pleased you had a good night's sleep. Long may it continue!
Tracy - you are very welcome my dear! I am from Ayrshire and I miss it's lovely coastline! Ok it can be wet - but lovely when the sun shines!
Diane is right! She isn't often right mind you but in this case she is! ( it's ok I know Diane!) I found 2 little Wade penguins in Mum and Dad's house . I had brought them back from a school day trip to Edinburgh Zoo! They cost 9d each ( yes old money) . Mum had treasured those! Tears but another treasured memory! Thinking of you as you tackle what is a difficult job but rewarding too!
Sun shining here today and it's very warm! Hope we all get some eventually!
    Love to all, Myra x

  84. Hi Sue and everyone

Well this card is gorgeous. Lovely colour, lovely frames, lovely flowers and other dies. I suppose I think it's just lovely altogether.

Unfortunately I have still not seen Sue's shows other than the first one, but do have them recorded so will watch as soon as I can. I didn't even get chance to comment yesterday, but have read the comments today. Looking forward to hearing Yvonne's conversation with Sue along with the demos.

Tracy, I am so pleased that you are taking comfort from everyone's kind words and comments on the blog. The next few days will be tough as you clear out you Dad's flat. As Diane G said, you will cry and you will laugh at things you find that trigger funny memories. In time though you will be able to think of your Dad without the heartbreaking moments of his final weeks, and instead recall all the lovely happy times you shared over many years. I hope you are managing to look after yourself properly too during this time of sadness. Thinking of you and sending extra comforting hugs to help you through the next few days.

I ham having quite a sad day, firstly it would have been my Mum and Dad's anniversary today if he had still been with us so we went out for lunch at one of his favourite spots. Service was very slow and then the food wasn't as good as the prices led you to believe.
Secondly I found out about the death of a friend. We met through the internet but had spent several weekends together. She was so unlucky first she got a rare breast cancer and the an even rarer cancer caused but part of the treatment she had. She was such a wonderful human who tried so hard to educate and fund raise for her cause. She was younger than me too. Cancer is so cruel.

  109. Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a bonnie card Sue and i just love that soft aqua colour against the white and must admit to it being one of my need to have at all times, it makes such a soft glow to your eyes and doesn't have the harshness that the deeper aqua has. What a beautiful card, would it not make somebodies day this dropping through their letter box. Thank you Sue for such a stunning inspirational piece to set us up for the week ahead. I hope that you had a lovely time on the shows over the weekend, i have them taped to watch in peace when O.H. goes back to work tomorrow because otherwise he will be saying to me "i don't know why you're watching that lot as you don't need anymore dies" and that's even if i'm just watching to get new and fresh inspiration.
I have been away through to Livingston near Edinburgh(well it was the way Kirsten took me this morning) for anyone who doesn't know and what a lovely place the designer outlet is. I got myself a new Radley large pocket bag for £36 instead of £109, it should have been £45 but it had another 20% off it today so a bargain. I also got 2 new pair of trousers out of M&S outlet at less than half price so i was a very happy bunny. Harry decided to make big eyes at this baby girl that he got his wee heart set on as he was showing off what a big boy he was eating his dinner and drinking his juice while she scattered to the four winds in the food court. Then we seen two little tinies that were brand new so he was putting his finger up at his lips and going shuuuust because i was making too much noise according to the bold Harry. This is because when we see the new babies i always go shuuuuusst to him because the baby is sleeping so he is being a wee copy cat. Kirsten had a rare time with the gift vouchers that Harry had gotten for his birthday that she put all together and went to the Next sale, so got some things in the outlet next and some in the Next shop sale plus what she had already got for him online. I don't think i have seen a baby that has more clothes than he does and he's not getting the wear out of them because she has bought him so much. I know kiddies go through a lot of changes but there has to be a limit on how much they actually need. We got her friend a bright Barbie pink Ted Baker purse down in their sale but it was still dear, her friend is getting her husband to pay for it for her. I am now dead beat so i think that i will have a few 40 winks.
Tracy flower, sending hugs sweet lass to help keep your strength up for this next task that unfortunately has to be done, i am still going through Mum's things that i just couldn't face at the time so i do know and understand just what a difficult task it can be. I hope that you can find some happy memories in your dad's things as they are going to help you get through the difficult task ahead of you.
Elaine, glad you had a lovely time away and that you have come back to peace perfect peace, long may it continue for you flower and if it doesn't try and keep in mind what we said to you as you shouldn't have to leave your home because of a new neighbour, so i have my fingers crossed for you flower. I hope that Andrews iron levels start rising because apart from anything else it would make him less tired. Sending hugs down your way flower just to keep you going.
Hugs to Tina Eldridge and Claire, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family flower.
Crafty hugs being sent to all that need, want or could do with them
    love

  112. Hi Sue,
You would never guess that the card had to have some tlc from you before making its TV debut...it's beautiful, Sue! Sadly I missed the shows so am going to have to see if I can find a re-run of them.
Healing thoughts to all our friends who are in need of them right now and crafty hugs to everyone.

  115. Hi Sue
Oh I must buy some of the aqua card and also have ago at frames I have both square sets so I've no excuse and it's Mum's birthday next month so will give one ago, I have just ordered the poppy dies and mum loves them so my card idea is taking shape
Congratulations to yesterday's winners my Sunday disappeared, had carers, physio and OT today but it has been far too warm for Mick he has the ceiling fan and stand fan going, had a visit from baby Ashton and his big brother and sister, I made a spag bol today and mick enjoyed it, his ramp came today so getting him outside will be easier once the sling hoist has been delivered he can then go in his chair or wheel chair need to find my parasol then he can sit outside, he can then help me in the garden telling me what's flowers or weeds as there are a few tubs that need sorting and I do not have green fingers.
Tracy I still have a lot of my dad's things so does mum so take your time even if you do as I did and just box it all and take it home to go through when your ready
Thank you all for your kind words and wishes
    Happy crafting
    Love and hugs
    Love Tina xxxx

  117. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Who would have believed that this card had been previously damaged because the repair job is seamless. I loved this particular demo because it incorporated a detailed explanation as to how you use the rectangles and I really need to get my head round that concept otherwise I won't be able to fully appreciate their uses when I eventually get them delivered. The Swiss background is stunning and the aqua/ white colour choice is inspired, it really suits the delicate filigree detailing of the die. Cutting the Zurich die, how bold! I'm still a bit reticent at cutting your beautiful dies but when the results are as stunning as this what choice do I have?:-) A gorgeous card and a fabulous demo Sue, many thanks and I will be trying to recreate this when I receive my bundles later this week.
I'm pea green with envy that so much of the UK is enjoying some sunshine today because predictably Stirling has spent most of the day under a cloud:-( Hopes for better tomorrow though and maybe a spot of sunbathing:-).....not an endless stream of washing like some saddos I could mention , Yvonne:-)
Lorraine, yep, I gave in and bought the circles bundle today to add to yesterday and Saturdays offerings so my bank account is suffering....as is my mum.......I promise to actually use the dies very soon because Sue gave me plenty of ideas so I have no excuse!
Sorry that you've had a tough day and your meal wasn't a success, it was a lovely thought though. My condolences for your friend , I can see you're going to miss her greatlyxxx
Wheely bad, I hope Mr W s interview went well today, fingers crossed for some good news:-)
Elaine, glad you had a peaceful night though maybe you should keep a diary of incidents just in case you need to take it further. Hope Andrew can improve his iron levels with some good grub:-)
Tina, it would be great if you could get Mick outside for some fresh air and help with your weeding, I'm not very green fingered either and would need all the help I could get:-)
Yvonne, are your feet touching the ground again yet? I bet you milk this for all that it's worth you little minx, I'm clearly not in your league when it comes to bribery and corruption.....even I could be persuaded to like you if you offered me white chocolate fudge so what chance does Sue have? I'm not a baker, my limits stretch to a rice pudding and that's not really transportable to Ally Pally. I'm going to rely on the fact that Sue is clearly an honourable woman who can't be seduced by gifts and treats and who judges others purely on their personality, warmth and sincerity.....in this respect you are scuppered my dear, I will be no.1 after Sue meets me, it's inevitable:-)
Hugs to all my blog buddies, hope you are enjoying some sunshine wherever you may bexxx

    Crafty hugs
