Hi bloggers! Here is one of the cards from the first set of shows. I started by embossing the coconut white square piece of card with the Rose Bloom Pinpoint embossing folder for texture. I matted this on to a larger piece of blush card that had a wide border around it. I added double sided sticky tape to the edges of the blush card, then sprinkled Iced Snow over the top for a blingy edge. For the focal element, I stamped the Retro Roses stamp in black. I used Distress markers (tumbled Glass, spun sugar, victorian velvet, forest moss) to colour in the image. I cut it out with the matching Sydney die and used the inside cutting edge to cut it into a frame. I added mounting foam and placed it in a diamond orientation in the centre of the card. I added small dots of Cosmic Lacquer to the circles around the inside of the frame. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smaller circular cutting edge. I inked it with Spun Sugar and mounted it in the centre of the frame. Finally, I cut two small butterflies from the Delicate Garden frame and added them to the upper corner. I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and seated a flower on it that was made from the Perfect Peonies die set. I "sugared" with Iced Snow it then added Lace Edged leaves to it as accents. Two matching stick pins finished off the floral element nicely. The final pierced mat and layers were added to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size. If you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment. The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card, that delicate elegant little rose looks like it belongs in my garden with the other roses that are sparkling covered with white fresh frost. I remember smiling at this sample when I saw it for the first time and it's made me smile again. Two cards in a trot with the smile factor, what a lovely week so far. Treated myself to the Butterfly Dreams folder yesterday so I'm looking forward to using it today on a card that has been ordered.
Hope you have a lovely day xx

Hi Sue & Lovely Wilsonettes*
ReplyDeleteWow Sue, not only a spectacularly stunning card but a double pleasurable delight of a giveaway aswel, your big-hearted generosity knows no bounds; x x x we cannot all win this beautiful & distinctively unique SW classic card, as much as we would like to, but one lucky crafty Wilsonette will be the ecstatic proud owner of this exceptional beauty, so it goes without saying that I wish you all the luck in the world ladies, & I will repeat what I have said before, my prize is that you have shared this with us Sue & you have certainly put a smile on my own & on the faces of many a Wilsonette this morning.
I was lucky enough to purchase the ‘Rose Bloom Pinpoint’ at AP & it really is as beautiful as it looks in real life, it is breathtaking in fact, will place an order for the ‘Dot Matrix’ EF end of month as I was so lucky to have pulled this out of the hat yesterday with a few other gorgeous old/new goodies. Your colouring of the Retro Rose stamp is so beautiful Sue I just hope I can do it as must justice when I attempt to do the same, I brought this pretty stamp a while back but the hat didn’t throw out the Sydney die with it, well that is soon to be amended because I pulled it out of the hat aswel yesterday so I’m well pleased.
I’m also pleased that you have posted this card Sue because I missed out on this (afraid even Google Chrome wouldn’t play ball for online or catch-up-oh the joy of technology***not; Lol. So many of your stupendous techniques have been put together in this charming & lovely design Sue, so much so that we would never be lost for ideas. It goes without saying Sue that I thank you sincerely & gratefully appreciate you sharing this enchanting & magnificent work of art x x x
Must away to prepare myself for work but before I go here is something I hope will bring you a chuckle or two.
I was coming in from the hallway with Hannah when she scooted rather hurriedly through the lounge & into the kitchen, I wasn’t as quick as she was, but then 4 legs are better than 2, but by the time I got to the entrance to the kitchen she had her paws up on the kitchen unit looking from left to right to see if there was anything delicious within easy reach, normally she would see me & scoot guiltily as soon as I said ‘off’ well this time she was so engrossed in her search that she didn’t hear me creep right up close to her where I then proceeded to quietly shout BOO!!!
Well, Hannah shot through to the lounge so fast & lay on her bed that I was in absolute stitches of laughter for what seemed like forever but was for only a minute or two. The look on her face & the sideways glance she gave me, whilst scooting off was a classic guilt look (those of us with fur babies are sure to know that look*lol) & partly shame, I think, for letting me get so close without her noticing. She eventually came to heel & cuddled into my side with that complete ‘sorry mum I won’t do it again look’. Every time I tried to tell Mr B what had happened my eyes were streaming & my side ached from laughing, but eventually I managed to spill the story, it’s that look, I will never ever forget that look nor the fact that I seem to be the owner of a thoroughbred racing Border Collie*lol x x x
Oops must dash off but wishing you all well, Love ’n’ (((hugs))) to you Sue, to my dear friends, to those who are absent or feeling poorly (hope you are feeling better Laine-miss you my friend x x x) & to the lovely Wilsonettes. Take care Beth B x x x x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, gosh late this morning as had to go to the wound clinic to have my clips out, and boy did that hurt, the first 3 that they had put in were done upside down and twisted, did I scream, talk about being a woose..............anyway it is done now thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteNow as to todays card well it is gorgeous, I am so pleased that you have used the rose blooms embossing folder because I treated myself to this last week and have not used it yet, (Can't lift the G Calibre or anything for 6 weeks, will see if hubby can put it on my table). Hi Sue, I love this card, but pleas can you use another colour other than "BLUSH" because it is not available in England. Creative expressions told me that they have sold out and are looking for another company to produce it, and I have tried all the craft companies that I use regularly and no one has got this colour. If you have got any idea where I can get some from I would be really greatful.
ReplyDeleteHeather Cheesmur

This card is so beautiful it just brightens up my day. I must try to find the stamps that go with the dies I already have so I can order them. This card has given me the confidence to try stamping again.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteStunning card and I love stamps with dies to match, the retro roses gives the Sydney die a whole new look. With regard to my question yesterday about cutting the Happy Couple die, I figured it out that if you put two pieces of card through at the same time the second piece of card had the complete diecut with the fall away pieces still in place. So now I just have to make a card using it!!
Hugs and best wishes everyone
Pat
Love this card, everything about it is perfect! xx

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteI know - early for me - I am shocked too!!!
It is no good - I give up - I cannot think of any original words to describe your cards. I have used them all over and over. Needless to say this card is absolutely beautiful. Everything about it is gorgeous x
I remember seeing the embossing folder when you used it on Hochanda and had very strong feelings of longing but then every thing involving you makes me feel like that Sue x
Some one is going to be soooo lucky to win this card.
I have been sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee. My neighbour popped over to hang some washing on the line for me (my arms aren't too good at the moment), and I sat out there chatting to her. It is lovely and sunny and the sky is blue so after she left I made myself a cuppa and went out to enjoy this wonderful weather. Don't get me wrong - the sun was shining but it was cold so I was togged up with my coat, thick socks, fluffy slippers and my hot water bottle. I looked a picture, as you can imagine but I was determined to enjoy a bit of fresh air x
WHEELY - take it easy hun x
LORRAINE - what is it with boys and wheels - I remember when my father in law was in a wheelchair and the boys were a nightmare - did make us laugh though x
THERESA W - very chatty day - exhausting. Marjorie is not into crafting. She loves reading but after the stroke is trying to get her glasses sorted out as her eyes were affected. Hop eyou are feeling a little brighter x
BETH - I did chuckle at your tale of four legs - they are just like naughty children x
JUNE - not a woose at all - scream as much as you want x
LAINE - healing hugs x
Well it does feel a little strange commenting this early - don't think it will become a regular occurrence x
Take care everyone and sending you all happy thoughts
Crafty hugs
Yvonne

Gorgeous card Sue, love the rose theme and the way it is followed all the way through the card. Just outstanding. Would love the opportunity to own this card. Have a wonderful day
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Sue. I would love to win this. Best wishes, Ann in France x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Sue. Love the blingy edging, I had forgotten about this little technique. Must remember for future. Regards Ann.

ReplyDeleteHello Sue.

Wow, So, So, pretty Sue.
ReplyDeleteSo elegant!!!!
Beautiful and colourful card today Sue,
ReplyDeletethank you, xx
Lovely stamp and die set which goes beautifully with the roses embossed background. Thanks, Susan x
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, this is a really pretty card. I love the blingy border, and the stamp. I haven't seen that one before, and I love that it goes with a corresponding die. Your dies are easily found here in Australia, but I have had trouble finding your stamps. I have had several sent from the UK, but it would be nice to get them here!
ReplyDeleteSo girly and pretty. Fit for a little princess! xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card and the colors is so soft.
ReplyDeleteYvonne N.
Wow! This is just stunning, Sue. I love the pink, sparkle and butterflies. Your stamp really gives the wow factor too. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRachel x
Apologies in advance for any typos - I had my second cataract surgery this morning and so am one eyed and finding it difficult to see through my reading glasses which won't fit over the plastic eye shield which I have to wear until tomorrow (and every night for three weeks!). It is just as well the iPad keyboard is large enough for me to see without glasses.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, more to the point, this is a lovely card. I like these new pinpoint embossing folders, they give a glorious textured background. I have used double sided tape before to glitter the edges but not to such a good effect as yours, I will certainly have a go with the coarser glitter.
Teresa
Just beautiful Sue. Would love to win it. Hugs Maureen
ReplyDeletestunning card, gorgeous backgrounds, colours and design Sue.
ReplyDeletegr karin van eijk
Gorgeous card Sue and you have coloured the image so well. I don't have any of the stamps that go with the dies so can't replicate which is a shame as I love it.
ReplyDeleteShould have got my notepad as I can't remember what to comment on, sorry.
Trying to get some housework done so I can get to crafting but I hurt my chest closing a draw after putting some of my daughter's clothes away. So frustrating
Not sure if I will get to visit tomorrow as I am off to Bath for a Managing Fibromyalgia course. It's on for four consecutive weeks and at some point we will be having some hydrotherapy which I think will be lovely. Unfortunately I feel I need to shave my legs first which is very hard work. I had a go yesterday but ended up with so many cuts.
Will close by sending love n hugs to all xxx
Hi Sue, there are not enough superlatives to describe how much I like this card. It is gorgeous and I love every single detail of it. I can see a sea of hands waving in the air saying "me, please Sue", everyone would love to win this beauty.
