  14. Wow Sue, this is just so elegant. I love the vintage gold card, some gold card stock can look in your face, tacky and cheap (call me a craft snob if you like) but I know what I like and it's not common looking gold card, this is my 'go to' gold card for Golden anniversary celebration cards. I love the look of the texture paste too with the added micro beads, all in all a beautiful classie expensive looking card.
Have all your show's ready to tape, so looking forward to watching then watching back. Time to delete some films to make more craft space as that percentage bar sure is looking sick now lol.
As usual I will end by sending my friendly hugs to you Sue, my deep thoughts are with our Tina E after her heart rendering message on her blog, which through sobbing tears took a few attempts to read, and hugs go to Sam and TOB too.
Have a good day Sue, I'm sure that you have an extremely mega busy time ahead xxx 🌹

  15. Gorgeous card Sue and just love that ribbon. Must admit bought this ribbon and every time I get it out to use I just look and feel it then put it away a bit like you do with some of your favourite card, I am going to use it is what I keep telling myself, ha ha. Have a great day Sue, hugs xxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm hoping to get my craft room finished this afternoon and have a play with all my new craft stuff.

  19. Good morning Sue. Texture paste and micro beads - I'm in messy heaven! This is such a classy card and I agree with Stephanie that this has to be the "go to" gold card. All your shows are set to record, unfortunately pesky work means that I won't be able to watch live.
Helen, what an awful experience you've had, it's disgraceful that some people still think behaviour like this is acceptable. I had something similar happen to me on a bus (in my much younger days) but being the gobby mare that I am I grabbed the hand, held it up in the air and shouted "does anyone know who this belongs to because I've just found it on my bum". The offender made a very sharp exit at the next stop!
Tracy - you are so brave and positive, only a couple more days to go, you are an inspiration to us all. Hugs to all. Sue XXX

  26. Hi Sue, this card is just fabulous, brilliant video, great tips. Love the texture paste and micro beads. I really must get this mask as it has such a lovely pattern. I was wondering if it was just coincidence that the colours of your top match just about the colours of the card? Have a great day all. Bx

  27. Really lovely card, Sue, love the colours and how your top co-ordinates, too! Another technique to try (hey Tracy - messy!) and the look of the microbeads for texture is fab. Great video - thank you. Got (really) messy with shaving foam recently, think ink used not strong enough so a bit of a disaster and certainly room for improvement.
Laine - hope Darcey okay, anyone who's had UTI will sympathise - but not generally a sign of kidney failure, thank heavens.
Helen, what a mammoth journey! And so sorry for the upsetting ending to your day, what a louse.
    Hugs all round.

  69. The words 'stunning' and 'classy' have been used above and I can only those sentiments. You have used two of my favourite things here, texture paste and the wavy mask, but to top it off, you have added the micro beads - fabulous. I am not a great lover of bows on cards but the use of the wide grosgrain ribbon and a knot solves a problem for me for the times when I would like to add ribbon; you have shown here how effective this can be.

So, thanks for yet more ideas.

  70. Hello Sue,

What a lovely treat it was for me to open your bloke today. I was stroking this cards at AP on Saturday, you did say you had made a YouTube video, I have been looking through your videos and just couldn't find it, so I had decided I would send you an email today and ask what title you had given it to help my search. You can imagine my reaction on seeing this here today, I have to tell everyone it is even more beautiful in the flesh (for want of a better expression) I did manage to find the wave mask on your stand, but in my excitement forgot to get the grosgrain ribbon. I'm sure I can find a substitute in my stash. I will give you just one guess what I will be trying out in My craft room later

Thank you so much, you have really made me one very very happy bunny, sending love and hugs, Brenda XXX !

One of the reasons I stopped watching a lot of C&C shows too.

I'm kicking myself as I have never yet got around to buying any texture paste, although a friend of mine has told me I can use acrylic filler so I'm going to practise with some that I can tint with some metallic paint, then when I've got the technique right I can stock up on some of your wonderful coloured paste :)

Oh my - this is absolutely stunning. Magnificent, rich, majestic and completely opulent. So striking and cannot wait to watch the video but that will have to wait until another time x
At present I am trying to sort myself out to watch (without interruption) the best thing on tv. I decided to change my bed today as I am fully intending to take you to bed with me Sue and there is nothing better than clean and beautifully scented fresh sheets to get a girl in the mood. An inviting bed and you - what else could a girl possibly need!
I had not anticipated how the changing of my bed would tire me out. I know it should be a perfectly straight forward task but I am still trying to clamber back to some sort of routine and my strength is certainly not as it should be - and it is not brilliant even when I feel good!! Anyway - job done and it is fragrant and inviting and I will be in it very shortly.
Please forgive my not reading today's comments my friends but one must prioritize and much as I love you all my love for Queen Sue far exceeds any feelings I have for other Wilsonettes - even you Laine x
So with the prospect of having an early night with our wonderful leader I will bid you goodnight and assure you that I fully intend to catch up tomorrow.
Happy thoughts one and all and enjoy watching the master at work

  122. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Oooooh I simply adore texture paste and mixing it up with micro beads is ingenious, something that would never have occurred to me to try.
I'm a bit of an obsessive clean freak as you know but even I don't mind getting a little messy for the sake of such a beautiful effect.....adding the micro beads to that lush pale gold paste whilst wet? Who'd of thought other than you brilliant lady!
If that wasn't enough you have used my personal favourite....after winning it in the blog draw....the Sydney die. This card didn't need something fussy and ornate to detract from the background and the Sydney die provides just the right amount of oomph! Without compromising the beauty of the background, the perfect balance. Who needs flowers when you can have a stunning knotted piece of grosgrain ribbon? The ideal finishing touch. A superb demo Sue...as always...done with professionalism and flair....and brownie points for co ordinating your lovely top with the card, much respect, you're my kind of gal:-)
I'm pleased to report that I got a semi decent nights sleep last night, Darcey had her walk and then her supper before coming to bed with me without so much as a whimper:-) She was quiet all night long....probably in the hope that we would cancel the vets appointment....only disturbing me a few times for a cuddle. We had to sabotage her mid morning snooze and put my rather reluctant princess into her cat basket, fur flew but no growls or scratches because she is a lady after all! The vet gave her the once over and deduced that "she must have sorted herself"!!??!? Her bladder was empty and his advice was to bring her back immediately if the symptoms reoccur. Great news, plus she has lost weight into the bargain, just a little over a pound to be precise which means the diet has worked and she's back at her original weight:-) Sorted!
I have been waiting patiently all day long for Sues show this evening and wasn't disappointed. Like Yvonne, I decided to enjoy the proceedings in the privacy of my king size bed where I could give her my full and undivided attention....my sheets weren't quite as fresh as Yvonne's but passable if you ignore the patch of Darceys cat fur located on her spot. It took me all of five minutes to decide and purchase the New Zealand collection and Sues paper pad....don't worry, my mum knows and gave her blessing:-)....and I am uber excited to add them to my collection. So looking forward to the shows tomorrow though I will have to tape them and catch up later because I have an appointment to have some skin cancer removed:-(
Yvonne, I know that you claim to be snuggling up with Sue but clean sheets, having your first bath in a fortnight AND a clean nightie means only one thing in my book and I don't think you have any plans to watch Tv tonight do you?:-)

  127. Hi Sue

A beautiful card, really elegant. Kicking myself now as I intended to buy some of this ribbon at Ally Pally, but forgot to go back for some.
Love the Sydney die. I have yet to watch tonight's Hochanda show, but have recorded it.

Happy Anniversary to Pat and hubby, I hope you've had a lovely day.

Yvonne, thanks for your comments last night, I wish I could have done what you probably would have, he deserved it. I hope you enjoyed watching Sue's show from the comfort of your nice clean bed.

Sue, I agree it is disgraceful people can think it's ok. I loved what you did on the bus though, they should be shamed, I agree. Thinking about it I reckon he had probably done this before, as he was very clever in the way he leaned in so no one could see anything. Because the train was so full, I was standing in the aisle and kept pushing myself as close as possible to the gap between two seats to allow people to get past. I thought he wanted to, but instead he trapped me using both arms and I had used up any free space. I felt sorry for his wife/partner who was sitting with a baby on her knee!

P in Wales, yes it was a mammoth journey, but Ally Pally was great, and yes I was a bit upset and felt so stupid for not doing or saying anything, but I got home safely. Unfortunately, my hubby was on a golfing tri until Monday evening, so I probably thought to much about it when I got home. Thanks for your kind words.

Theresa W, yes I'm ok thanks. I'm not giving him anymore of my thoughts. Horrible man.

    Love Helen xx

  128. Wow what a fantastic use of the wave mask. A truly elegant card.
Glad to hear Ally Pally went well. It's a good job I hadn't booked anything as I was poorly all weekend.
I don't know where the days are going and I am getting a bit cross at missing so much of the blog.
    Sending love n hugs

  129. Beautiful card!! Now if I could only find the texture paste and micro beads. None of the craft stores around me carry them. I had ordered the paste from a scrapbook store and waited over 18 months and she never got it in. Store is out of business now.

  132. Fabulous card and video. Love the background you have created with the texture paste and micro beads. I tried a sparkling texture paste with a mask (sadly not the wavy lines) for the first time last week and I was really pleased with the result as I half-expected a messy disaster.
Pat L., congratulations to you and your husband on your anniversary. Hope you had a lovely day.
    Take care everyone.

  133. Hi Sue*

sorry that I’m late on commenting for this beautiful card (it is the techniques that have intrigued me aswel) what with AP Sat & going back to work I kinda got knocked for six, but it was worth it as I would not have missed AP for the world, it was a lovely enjoyable experience.

As for the ribbon I was lucky enough to purchase, at AP, a 4 colour pack of this for an amazing £2 (2 packs in fact & a lovely lot of ribbon in each to boot) & I love how a knot in this is just as effective as making a bow, might just try to make a bow with bow maker with this just to see the end result will be, it will either be fun, very frustrating, a grrrrr moment, a disaster or a complete success but I have the patience so who knows, well I’ll let you know * Lol.

I love the effect achieved with the paste & beads...one time I used the beads & forgot to add them to the card over the large tray & they rolled everywhere with a vengeance & I was like a being possessed trying to catch them up from every nook & cranny, luckily they are packed into a generous sized pot so I still had plenty left.

I’d like to send the sentiment right back at you Sue, with one exception to say is that your friendship to us is a ‘million BIG things’ x x x

    Love & hugs to you Sue & to all lovely Wilsonettes Beth B x x x x x
