Hi there crafters! I started this card by cutting an aperture using the Grace die in the centre of the card. I embossed the background by using the Chevron mask to create texture in the card behind the aperture. I used the Grace die to cut a thin scalloped frame to fit around the outside of the Grace die aperture. I added mounting foam to the back of the card to raise it. On the next layer I cut the decorative die from the Grace and the smaller inside cut line to create a frame. I added this piece behind the aperture, then added another piece that had also been embossed with the Chevron mask. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flag die. I inked it with Spun Sugar before removing it. I attached it across the aperture with foam and cut a Daisy Cluster to add as an accent. I cut the flowers again in Baby pink card and glued them behind on the cluster. I added three pearls to the upper corner ans pearls to the centres of the flowers. The card was finished with a paper pierced white mat, a pink mat and another white mat layer. The finished dimensions are 7" x 7" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue & Lovely Wilsonettes***oh my gosh, I was in mild shock, for a moment there I thought I was going to have a writer’s block this morning, took a few moments to put my brain into gear before I could comment on this salacious (sensational), delightful & exceptional card, so simple yet so eloquently elegant. The masked embossing on your background Sue is absolutely spot on & magnificently compliments the layering & design of the delectable Grace dies, so I ponder on where I am going wrong with my attempts at mask embossing, they never seem to come out so prominent & vibrant in texture no matter what shims or plate combination I use, you truly have the magic touch. The comparative beauty of the cluster daisy adorably embraces the centrepiece, oh what patience & steady hand to apply those delicate little pearls to the centres. Needless to say I thank you most sincerely Sue for sharing your remarkable gift, the sheer capacity of your talent leaves us speechless in awe(admiration) day after day x x x
ReplyDeleteI had a lovely & much needed afternoon out yesterday, haven’t been anywhere other than work or food shopping for many months, Mr B dashed me straight from work to CE Towers to attend John’s fabulous workshop. John also has a very fresh & passionate approach to crafting & so obviously delights in sharing his tips & techniques with you. My hands were shaking a lot but I didn’t mind because I really loved the hustle & bustle of yesterday’s workshop, glue, scissors, dies etc all being passed back & forth & voices gently calling out (especially mine Lol) please pass this or please pass that. Along with John’s sense of humour & working alongside lovely ladies my mind was gratefully distracted & a fun filled & industrious afternoon was had by all. I was so glad that I managed to purchase John’s Stamping mat the other day, I have been practising with it every now & again & it really does make a difference to my stamping, something I never previously enjoyed & avoided doing so but no longer as these results are remarkable to any previous results x
Craftysuetoo***I wonder what impulsive cat let that tweeting birdie out of its cage*Lol, as far as I know Sue would normally launch any new collection on this fabulous blog & there has been no whisper of this, so I for one will be keeping my hat safely tucked away for the time being.
Many of you are familiar with my famous picking hat, (no not for fruit picking *Lol but more like Create and Craft’s cup of chance) but for those of you who are new to Sue’s blog & have no idea what I am talking about I assure I have not lost the plot*Lol. I write down the names & prices of any dies or EF’s I would love to own, fold & put in the hat & when I have the readies to buy some then I pick from this hat to the value of, which makes the decision of what dies to buy less painful & more exciting as I never know what will be picked or what set I will complete next x
Oh gosh my friends the time is simply flying by Lauren needs to go to the vets shortly for her booster before I’m away to work, so I simply must dash. Take good care my friends my thoughts & (((hugs))) are sent to each one of you (especially to our absent friends). Love ‘n’ (((HUGS))) to all & especially to you Sue & family. Love Beth B x x x x x
Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the frame and the flower cluster :))

Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteVery quick look in today. All a bit manic as trying to get organised to go away tomorrow. Though I was organised but alas not.
Oh Sue I adore this card. I am lucky enough to have been given the grace die and it is absolutely beautiful. This card is such a delight and is so pretty and delicate. I am sure that I may be able to duplicate (sort of) this wonder and it may resemble your masterpiece slightly.
I am really hoping that I will be able to access your expertise whilst I am away especially as your new release is imminent. I will be devastated if it begins whilst on holiday and I miss out.
Thank you so much for you continuing inspiration and gorgeousness which you continue to share with us mere mortals. Only 14 more sleeps and will be reunited even if it is through the tv screen. Lots to look forward to. Lots of love abd hugs to you Sue x
Pressed for time today so will just say thinking of all who are going through tough times and sending all happy thoughts and smiles x
