Letterpressed and Snowflakes

Hello there my crafty friends!  Like yesterday's card, I have used mica Flakes in today's card, but this time they are available (colour called Marshmallow).  At least you can see how they are added as it is the same method as the previous card too.

In case you happen to be in the area, I am demoing this weekend at the Big Crafting Show at Alexandra Palace in London.  It is a great day out, open both Saturday and Sunday, with so many demonstrations, great crafting products and loads of fellow crafters.  I would just love it if you stopped by and let me know that you are on my blog!

 The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/2"
in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Beautiful card Sue. Looks so delicate and pretty.
Melody I am shocked tat an adult woman could say such mean things to a child who regardless of her age is a crafter.bbthe comment about winning a card shows how mean and greedy some people are, they are not Sue's true bloggers. Molly has a right to blog unless Sue tells her otherwise. Is there an age limit, I am 67 am I too old to blog in case I take away her chance to win. Keep on blogging Molly, we love your comments.

  24. Morning Sue
Try and enjoy Ally Pally this week-end even though you won't have time to breathe being so busy. I know you'll be meeting quite a few of your Blog family and you never know perhaps one day I might be able to get to the show.

Today's gift is beautiful in it's formation but I'm not quite sure about the colours. I shall look at it again to see if it grows on me but at the moment I'm not sure.
Your dies are beautiful and are shown to perfection.

We have blue skies and sunshine this morning so fingers crossed it just might be a good week-end weather wise.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Girls I hope you all have a wonderful time visiting AP, I'm so jealous, I would love to go to a big show like that but I'll have to make do with the Glasgow show in October( I hope it's better than the last one as it was dismal) .

Beautiful card this morning. I will watch the video shortly. I hope you have a great time at Ally Pally and that lots of your followers come to say hello.
Molly - I'm pleased that you are still leaving comments, and I look forward to reading them. You are so enthusiastic about craft and I think that is wonderful. You are also having such a tough time with grandad and now Milly and are being incredibly brave through it all. Some people are just spiteful and probably jealous that people on this blog have taken you to their hearts. You have as much right as anyone to leave comments and even win a card , a die or the comment game prize and as Sue has given her blessing then just ignore the mindless comments on Facebook. Love and hugs to you xxx
I hope everyone has as good a day as possible and everyone going to Ally Pally, have a wonderful day. Love and hugs to all, Alison xxxxx

Well said, Pam, not on Facebook personally and can't believe the claim that lots of bloggers think the same as that person about Molly. Which one of us can't afford to buy at least an occasional die or stamp or EF from Sue's range? The thrill of winning to us 'regulars' is knowing that Sue values her Wilsonette family - she doesn't have to give so generously - as well as putting the new releases out there for all to see and, of course, hopefully buy.
Melody and Francis and Molly (and Milly) - lots of good wishes out there for you, so keep strong.

  108. Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue i do like this card, it is so pretty and delicate in colour. Those marshmallow mica flakes are so pretty that i need to get these for doing Kirsten cards as she is pink daft and would just love this to bits. The softness of the colour that you have letterpressed on to the back ground is such a lovely shade of pink and not a right in your face kind of colour. Thank you Sue for a stunning card yet again but a "C" card that doesn't scream "C" at you. Hope you are having a ball down at the AP with your fan club and that they are all behaving themselves.

  117. Afternoon Sue. WOW Another of your stunning cards using the mica flakes. I bought the flakes in 6 of the colours and its great to have the video to follow your instructions on how to use them. They give such a pretty finish to your project. It make me so angry and upset that some women can say such nasty thing about a little girl who enjoys crafting and leaves a little comment on a blog that is followed by so many lovely people that dont mind about her comments but then its spoiled by a few who think its taking away there chance of winning something if thats the only reason that they are commenting on this blog then they are not a true friend or follower to sue. Sorry for the rant but it just makes me so angry that they are picking on a child and if nasty things continue sue may just STOP doing her blog and we dont want that because of a few nasty people. Good luck with the op molly and DO keep doing your comments.
    Best Wishes.

  122. Hi Sue, a pretty card and I love all the individual elements and techniques, I am just not sure about pink at Christmas! Sorry, but that is the traditionalist in me :-)

Melody & Molly - I am on Facebook (not very often, admittedly) and if I ever saw a comment from such a mean-spirited person as the one who messaged Molly then I would tell them in no uncertain terms what all the true Wilsonettes on here think of her. We love having Molly commenting and how are we to encourage the crafters of the future if all we thought about was prizes! Bah humbug - I have no words for people like that. Always thinking of you and Francis but also now of Milly for next Thursday. Paws crossed here that all will be well.

Hope you, Sue, and everyone at AP is having a lovely day.
    Frances

  145. Good evening Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes,

I simply can't get enough of your Christmas card demos at the moment and today's was particularly special because it featured the new mica flakes- I really appreciated that you took the time to show us the precise technique and how it can work on your card and with the addition of the letterpress technique. I felty that I really learned something today. What a stunning overall effect they both had, I really love the soft pink colour tones with just a hint of sparkle from the sentiment. I can't get enough of your stick pins either, I made identical ones for my Mums pink themed birthday card and buying the entire kit when you showcased it on C&C was one of my best purchases to date.
What a strange day it has been on the blog, I think I may have spotted some tumble weed rolling across my screen whilst I was reading today's comments:-) but seriously, I have really missed all of our regulars who have been fortunate enough to spend the day with our hero Sue in London. I hope everyone arrived safely, got to spend oodles of cash and most notably, got to meet the great lady herself in the flesh.
I am so determined to go to the next one in April, it would be a dream come true to meet Sue and my fellow Wilsonettes- I live near Glasgow but I don't think Sue goes to the SECC in October and it's probably too far for other Wilsonettes too!
Nevermind , I'll concentrate on saving some pennies and making the long trip south, it will be worth the effort just to get my hands on Sue for 5 mins...not in a freaky, stalkerish way you understand, but in a polite, civilised and highly restrained manner, I wouldn't want her having to use the pepper spray and tear gas again like last time:-)
Beth, where are you with your funny stories? I have barely been able to contain my excitement today at the delicious prospect but either nobody can think of anything even mildly amusing or embarrassing, or their stories are too risqué/x rated to publish. I'm afraid I lead a rather boring sedentary life since my head injury pushed my partying to the sidelines and I don't think my escapades as a student would be appropriate reading material for a polite audience:-) but I was hoping that my crushing disappointment at missing Ally Pally would be softened by some humourous anecdotes. I guess we are all too overwhelmed with sadness and isolation to participate:-(
Take heart, we have next weekend to look forward to when Sue will be gracing our screens again with some goodies:-)
Melody, I am encouraged to hear that you are treating the trolls comments with the contempt they deserve and that little Molly will continue to participate- in terms of Sues generosity, I for one was rooting for Molly to win a prize because encouraging the younger generation to craft is what this blog and it's users strives for. But to say that she is somehow undeserving is complete nonsense and speaks more about the commentors motivations than anything else! I have my fingers crossed for Millys operation, please keep us informed of her progress, and how did Francis's appointments go last week?
Off to drown my sorrows with a bar of chocolate, 2 litres of neat vodka and the X Factor, see you tomorrowxxxx

    Love and crafty hugs,

    Laine1972xxxxx

  148. Hello Sue
Love this card, the debossing is gorgeous. I hope you have had a good first day at Ally Pally, sadly I couldn't make it this year but hope all my friends from the cafe who were going got to say hello to you. Good luck tomorrow.

Melody, it saddens me to think of our little Molly being upset. We have all taken her to our hearts and I know each and everyone one of us on here would be thrilled if she was to win a prize. Who ever this woman has been "talking to " must be very mean spirited indeed to want to deny a child some happiness, especially with everything Molly is going through at the moment. Please give her a big hug from me.

I may not be able to comment for the next two weeks as we are going sailing in Croatia tomorrow, if we are lucky and get the occasional Internet I will try and comment.

Love and hugs for all but extra special one for MOLLY.

  159. Hi sue, gorgeous card an the mica flakes are great an yes I think the colour of the flakes yesterday were lovely. Take care Melody xxxXxxx

I noticed Molly as not left a comment today I have not had a chance to go see her an going by what her mum said Molly as been very upset I am sure when she reads all your comments to her tomorrow she be ok, she takes things to heart an this women said a few nasty things about the reasons why Molly leaves comments. Molly loves this group an once I have a word with her she will be ok I will not let people like this spoil things for her, Molly was more upset by what the woman was saying about her taking away real bloggers chances an how everyone as sick people in there families but don't have to write about it to win prizes. whoever sent these messages to her should be ashamed of themselves.

For those who asked about Francis tests, he is now waiting to see the main surgeon to see what the next step will be in his treatment if any.
As for milly my cat she will have her operation next Thursday an I pray to god she will be ok. Thank you all so much Melody xxxXxxx

  161. Hi Sue

Very pretty card, hope you had a lovely day at AP. Hope everyone at AP this weekend has a good un

Sorry I've been AWOL again, let's just say it's not going well and leave it there.

Message for Molly- we'd rather have 100 of you on the blog than any one else. We love that a young lady is into crafts, we love that you share with us what's going on in your life, this blog is about friendship and supporting each other in good and bad things that happen regardless of age, background or nationality. If this person thinks the point of this blog is to win stuff then they are very misguided. There will always be Nasty people in life my love and the most important thing of all is never let those people get you down or put you off what you like doing or where you like visiting. If the best that person can do is upset a really nice kid and p*** off a load of 'slightly more mature' people in the process then that's not a whole lot for them to shout about...
You did right to tell someone about it. We'll all be waiting for you to comment soon as you're ready. In the meantime sending you hugs and hugs for Nanny, Grandad and Milly the cat

To end, an embarrassing story (one of many) as a treat for those of us not going to London this weekend. Warning- bodily function described in great detail!

I was asked to invigilate a year 6 lad doing the literacy part of his SATs in around 2005 at the primary I volunteered at then. He'd been ill the day of the exam so he was the only one. At the time I wore a back brace and used a pair of crutches, I found it hard to get down to the height of the kiddy chairs so it was a given that I'd perch on the desks. I was there, perched, when the lad put his hand up, I acknowledged him, braced my crutches to pull myself up to a standing position and as I did I let out the single loudest, longest, 'breaking of wind' ever... the lads face was one of shock...
"Aaaaaaah miss, I can't believe you just did that!... Miss!... you farted miss!... that was nasty!...Aaaaah miss!" I seriously believe to this day I was the first person of any sort of authority to do such a thing. As I wasn't explaining the paper to him I was able to apologise straight away and go and open some windows! He could have never let me forget after that by going on constantly but apart us having a chuckle about it between us he was a real little gentleman and didn't tell the whole year group. I will never forget how the sound seem to reverbarate around the room, I haven't created a sound that loud or long before or since. I have no idea what caused it or why. I just know that kid will forever only remember me for that! After that it wasn't just my leg muscles I braced when standing up!

Well, that took a while to get out (unlike the wind!) So I'll off as more meds are due and I fancy a hot, chocolaty type drink. Lots of hugs to you all, i hope sincerely I'll be back during Sunday... perhaps with more tales to add to my humiliation, if you're lucky!

Hugs to you all, extra if they're needed,

T x (perhaps I should rename myself "WindyBad"!!!)

  169. Hi Sue,

What a beautiful card, your demos are so inspirational, I think the colours and the sparkle in this card would be great for my niece, I might just use your ideas with the dies and products I have.

Quick question I'm staying in Davenport, Polk county (I think) Florida, I have another week here before returning home to Wales 😪. I'm hoping to stock up on some crafting bits to take home, can you recommend a good craft shop any where in and around this area, or Orlando,.

Look forward to many more fabulous demos and hope you are back on creat and craft sometime soon. 😀
