A really beautiful card today.
ReplyDeleteDoreen R
Morning Sue. WOW This is a fantastic card. Love the cool colour's to this one and with having the vellum over the top it's given it a frosty look to it. The poinsettia's are stunning as is the background. I made some of my card's when you released your first collection of die's and then some more when you released your second mini collection just to see how they looked and as you can imagine they didn't disapoint. I need to make some more so i can put both collection's together and i can't wait to see how they all turn out, but i am in the middle of making my son and future daughter-in-law's wedding invatation's so hoping to have them finished by the end of september and then it's straight onto the christmas card's, so a busy couple of month's a head for me LOL. Thank's for another informative video and looking forward to seeing the rest of your christmas video's. Keep them coming. Hoping you are well rested and having a lovely time.
ReplyDeleteTake care everyone and guess what the sun is shining after all that rain yesterday. Now isn't that a surprise.
Best Wishes.

Hi Sue, love this card , the colour is just right , you are so clever at putting colours together, I spend ages trying to get a good combination.

Morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteLovely delicate card today, really pretty. I've already seen your video (have s link to your videos so see them when you upload them) but will watch in detail when I give this a go.
Have to rush today have acupuncture in just over half hour, then rushing around before going to craft workshop.
Have a great day.
Oh before I forget you need to check out EBay UK someone is selling die cuts of your new dies, looks like has been for a while I sent John the details on Facebook last night in a message. I tried to report it to eBay but the 'owner ' of the rights has to do so. They are not made up cards just die cuts. Which according to what John said is against the Angel policy.
Maggie
Hello All! Another beautiful Christmas card Sue! I like that it has a frosty yet soft look to it. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my die purchases - one of them is the corner, border & tag set used in this video. It's so pretty! I know you've shown us how to do the "messy" bows on one of the videos before - I'll have to go and find it. Mine look messy alright- just not in a good way!
ReplyDeleteMolly I don't know what the technical issues are that you are having regarding posting from your iPhone. But I've had a lot of problems too like my post disappearing before I finish it or problems if I try and edit it...it just freezes up. I've found if I type up my post while I am in a different application such as the "notes" app (it's just one that came as part of my phone-not one I had to download or anything), I can simply copy & paste it into the blog, without any problems (so far). That may not be what you are experiencing at all, but thought I'd share just in case it is helpful. Your Nan & others are right though - it's ok if you can't post for awhile!
I hope everyone, including their furry companions (I'm talking about the 4-legged variety, not hairy husbands lol) are doing well or at least on their way to it! For those returning to work, I hope you have a good week.
Sunshine & hugs...Rebecca in Colorado
Beautiful card Sue! I love the white design with just a hint of aqua, so lovely. Debra x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and elegant Christmas card. I'll be making a start on my cards this week. I've already done some parts of cards but not put anything together yet. The inspiration that you and all the creative expressions team give us is great. Off to watch the video, thanks for sharing,
Heather Treble
A fresh, crisp card, the vellum softens it nicely. Another one to try, it will probably take me most of the afternoon to do, but very satisfying if I get a result
ReplyDeletehalf as good as yours. It's still raining here, is it no wonder it's called the green and pleasant land. I love it when it rains, it means I can stay indoors and craft and not feel guilty about my untidy garden, let it rain (or snow)
Linda
Morning Sue, beautiful card and yes it is time to make a start on the Christmas Cards! I have already started mine with some of the new dies I bought but must get on and make some more. The way this year is flying by it will soon be time to post them! Loved John's shows yesterday, makes such a difference when the demonstrator has time to explain and show step by step and give out handy tips without all the silly nonsense that used to go on, long may it last! Love Jean xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful soft and gentle Christmas card! Love everything about it, off to watch the video now.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteWow wow wow. What a stunner we have today. Love the colour combination and the dies you have used. The vellum gives it a soft look. I'm sure I have some but only found acetate when I was looking for it the other week. I'll find it when I'm looking for something else. I'll be watching the video later if I can. If not I'll watch when I get home from a very sunny Salou.
A lovely card, it has a delicate frosty feel to it.
ReplyDeleteA lovely card Sue ,

Beautiful card again today and using probably my favourite Christmas saying 'let it snow'. The colours and textures give this a beautiful chilly feel and can see this in most of the blue/purple/grey palette range for a lovely frosty effect - just stunning.

Beautiful card as always Sue.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteThis card is really beautiful, love the soft effect the vellum gives the background. How funny the poinsettia stamp fell into my basket last time I had a splurge! I'm going to start Christmas cards when Emma is safely delivered to university , it will keep me busy so I don't miss her, the untidy ness and noise! I'd noticed you are using spray glue more these days, I must admit I was struggling when cutting double sided sheets with card so this is a welcome change. I just need a spray glue box now! The sun is shining here today and I think the forecast for the week is good too - you can tell the children are back at school! (Sorry Jackie T xxx). Enjoy your day.

ReplyDeleteAfternoon Sue
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful card. I remember it being one of the cards in the launch and loved it then. I will watch the video later (hopefully). Not long now til we see you and enjoy your fantastic demos. I can't wait. It seems like forever since you have graced our screens.(Yipee)!
Have been watching John and a few others on Hochanda. Have to say I do think they need to sort things out. John is doing a fantastic job as are the other guests I've seen and I think the presenters are doing the best they can. The fact that the website is not up and running is a huge mistake on their part and the freedom club is just not good value for money. I am thoroughly enjoying the demonstrations so will persevere but do hope that things will improve soon.
I am obviously getting better as this time last week I would not have had the energy to be that negative.
So I'm dressed - clothes not pyjamas - hope you're impressed. The house is really not looking too healthy. In my absence it has been sadly neglected. Whilst being bed ridden it appears that the carpet has all but disappeared in the front room. Major excavation required to find it.
I seem to be struggling to walk in the kitchen as every step I take is an effort due to the fact that I am 'sticking' to the floor. Yuk!
The dishwasher was overflowing until I sorted it and turned it on about 10 minutes ago. I am hoping that this process will eliminate the overpowering odour that was so evident when I came down stairs!
Can someone please tell me why men/boys are completely incapable of emptying a kitchen bin? They see that it is full and instead of doing the right/sensible thing they proceed to push the contents down with such force that it will require industrial lifting equipment to rectify the situation!
Sorry folks. I think that is quite enough moaning for now. I have plenty more where that came from but will leave it alone for now. To be honest the boys have been pretty good at taking care of their frail and ailing mother whilst she has been wallowing in bed for a week. I know that if I designate duties over the next few days that by the weekend the house may start to look more inhabitable and less like a squat!
Take care everyone. I am going to be playing catch up with the blog for a while so have patience fellow Wilsonettes. I have missed the blog hugely and it is lovely to be back. Sending love and hugs to everyone - especially those who are not feeling their best or having a rough time.
Crafty hugs

ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous gentle card, Sue, lots of motivation and thank you for the video. Must get into the CCard swing of things - started in June but sort of 'went off' a bit.
ReplyDeleteSaba - thanks for the advice - have managed to find the programme info. Bless you!
Have watched some of John's repeats night and early morning - love his little tips and the Waste Not Want Not use of ALL of his bits!! He does so well and didn't even blink when he was called 'Rob' - presenters have a way to go yet. They even showed the striplet buying info when holding up the finishing touches bundle - Nigel etc wouldn't let that pass by. Ah well. Can only get better.
Molly - you having a good time?? Hope so.

Great card today Sue, picking up lots of tips for this Christmas card making session. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI've managed to buy most of this year's dies from your range, they were at the bottom of my wishlist but I turned it upside down! So I don't need any more seasonal dies for this year now.
Lots of love and craftihappiness everyone,

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteLove the white snowflakes on the white background with the whole thing glittered - it didn't show up to well on the video until right at the end. Silly me.....I should have looked at the close up pictures first.
Beverley W
Good morning Sue and the happy band of Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteThis is a very striking card Sue that i love in every way from the colours to the dies and all the bits in between. I love how you soft image the back ground with the parchment as it just gives off like a soft glow bulb, enhancing the soft subtliness of the card. Although i have the top set of dies i don't have the snowflakes yet but i'm sure i could improvise with the spellbinder ones that i do have. There is an awful lot of dies this year that i would love but heyho the necessities are needed first IE a die machine that works and that isn't broken. Oh how glad am i that Hobbycraft had that plateless, handleless GC down for sale as it was about the only one in my budget and it works fine.
Had an absolute ball yesterday when i met up with 3 of the Wilsonettes and what a time we had giggling and laughing and putting the world to rights, it was fantastic and i know that they had a great time as well. Sue this is all because of you and this fantastic blog that an awful lot of us that are housebound or lonely have made such lovely friends from all over the world, thank you Sue for making this all possible. It is lovely to find like minded people that as bonkers as i am and i know a lot of you are as well. You start by thinking that you are the only one and then find a whole array of people in the one place that are just as bad. HAve a great day everyone with crafty hugs going to all my Angels that keep me up,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)
An amazing glittery Christmas card today in aqua and white. Love the layers and love the embellishments. Attaching the snowflakes around the outside of one layer and then spray gluing and glittering makes for a unique and beautiful layer. Silly me, I would have cut the snowflakes out first, then added glue in some form to each snowflake, THEN I would have glued the completed snowflakes to the card layer. Thank you Sue for your ideas and trying to make my life less complicated by showing me how to do this process with less effort. Thanks for the clear and percise video - always a treat. You, Sue, are one fabulous crafty and talented woman. Yeah for all of us Wilsonettes!
ReplyDeleteHi sue

Sorry been missing girls, don't know where my days have gone since I got back.
Thank you for such a warm welcome back, sending big hello's and hugs back to Lorraine (names in a hat, what a good idea, I have the same trouble choosing which dies to buy next. Might I also add that I saw your posts from a bit back and I too iron jeans, even the boys skinnys lol), Lynda B (hope little Annnie has recovered from her nervous night), Maria A (it was Carvoeiro in Portugal), Saba (I didn't have the piri piri this time but the fresh sea bass was amazing yum), Theresa , Carole B. I'm afraid I'm still not up to speed so please bear with. Got to dash now but hello Rebecca in Colorado, sending a big welcome! Molly and Melody (hope everything goes well at the hospital), Yvonne G (glad you're up and about again, we can play catch up together), Beth B (sending woofy woofs to your girls), Myra (hope you're feeling better after your migraine, they're awful aren't they).

ReplyDeleteYES STARTED THE CHRISTMAS CARDS. BUT NOT AS FESTIVE AS YOURS. BRILL VIDEO. CANT LIVE WITHOUT THE JEWELS. THINK THE VELLUM LOOKS FANTASTIC. ALSO LIKE THE FLOWERS MADE OUT OF VULLUM HAS BECOME ONE OF MY ADDICTIONS. (ALL MY ADDICTIONS ARE CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS AT THE MOMENT). LOVE THE INSPIRATION. THANKS

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, a stunning card with lots of pretty detail, gorgeous colour.x
ReplyDeleteHello Sue, and all the ladies.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling a deja vous when I look at this card. It's beautiful.
Yvonne, I know exactly how you feel. When I broke both arms, I couldn't do anything for 6 weeks. My house looked like Miss Havisham's from Great Expectations!!!
Love to all,
Mauree xxx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, though Im not up to any cards let alone Christmas cards.
Just a quick post. Sorry I haven't read any comments but just wanted to say hi to you all. Not in a great way but nothing serious, just very fatigued after a busy day Saturday having eyes tested then a meal for brothers birthday. Will be back properly hopefully tomorrow. Thinking of Molly and Francis and anyone else whose ill, injured or having a bad time. Hugs to all of you,
T x

lovely soft card. very icy... brrrr, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteGood Evening lovely Sue and fab Wilsonettes!
ReplyDeletePutting into words just how much I adore this card is an impossibility, I don't have the necessary vocabulary or eloquence to convey my delight and absolute awe at your many talents. The idea of placing velum over the snowflake background is inspiring, and really softens the look enabling you to add even mor interest to the background in the form of the individual snowflakes and diamond sprinkles. There is so much to absorb, so many elements to admire and luckily I have the benefit of your fabulous demo to enable me to create my own example.
Fortunately, up until tonight, I have all of the dies apart from the mini background-My credit card has just had a haemorrhage in the form of a juicy order for those Christmas dies begging to be given a loving home. So, in a couple of days I will have the snowflake mini background just begging to be unwrapped and transformed into a work of beauty al a Sue Wilson!
I am feeling quite giddy with excitement at the prospect of receiving my bounty and will have no excuse but to start thinking festive thoughts.
Christmas cards are the most enjoyable to create, they really get you in the mood, but I always struggle to start them before late October-it just seems weird to contemplate snow, turkey, presents and Santa in late Summer....even if the weather has taken a turn for the worse!
Talking of the inclement weather, I acted with folly and just a smidgen of insanity this afternoon when I mistook a ray of sunshine for summery temperatures and ventured out in just a vest top and flimsy cardigan-at best I could have been described as an optimist, at worst a total buffoon because the heavens opened and my valiant attempts to dodge the fist sized rain drops were met with defeat.
I felt borderline hyperthalmic and if I don't get a liberal dose of pneumonia it will be a miracle:-)
Yvonne, my poor dear friend, you have struggled valiantly from your sickbed using every available ounce of strength to be met with a sight akin to Armageddon! My heart goes out to you, it reminds me of my days at university when my room was immaculate but the rest of the flat was like a bomb site with week old plates of mouldy pasta , dirty clothes, beer cans, fag ash and the odd text book creating a man made obstacle course of filth and squalor! Get those young strapping lads of yours to muck in with the clean up job whilst you put your feet up from a safe distance:-) Good luckxxx
Deb, a kindred spirit, I thought that I was the only one who thought that ironing jeans and underwear was normal behaviour -we can stand united against those who seek an unkept, untidy and creasy world! I do however feel for you, in the wake of your holiday- all of that washing and ironing will give you repetitive strain injury you poor soul:-( My thought are with you at this trying timexxxxx
Norah, how lovely to hear about your friendships gained through Sues brill blog-my only regret is that I don't seem to live near anyone because I would dearly love to meet my fellow Wilsonettes.
Wheely Bad, hope you feel better soon honey, get plenty of rest and don't push yourself too far too soonxxxx
Molly, hope you're enjoying your break away with your family- don't worry about not being able to post, we'll still be here when you get back, waiting to hear all about your time in Devonxxxx
Have a peaceful night everyonexxxxx

Gosh Sue I have just read through the comments & realised that the comment I wrote yesterday has gone walkabouts somewhere or other & it was well within the character limits...oh well glitches happen I guess so on with writing about your gorgeous card because I simply cannot remember what else I had written, think I'll go back to writing in word that way if it goes missing again I can do a copy & paste.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this card Sue I was racking my brains about where I had seen it before, notice how your cards have such a wonderful impact on my memory...well I cheated & looked back on your older posts & yay it was the frosty mini background made during your last mini launch...I loved it then & I still love it now only now there is the generous addition of the video demonstrating to us your fabulous hints & tips on how to make this gorgeous card...Thank you, Sue everything that you do for us is very much appreciated.
Take care & Love 'n' (((HUGS))) to yourself & our lovely Wilsonettes Beth B x x x
