Friendship

Hello blog friends!  I just love the simplicity of today's card offering.  I started by cutting the Canadian Background die out of coconut white card.  I just love this die and it has proven to be so useful (as I hope to show you on many later blog posts!)  I used it here in it's simplest form, just using the outside cutting die to create a rectangle border around my card.  I picked custard card to use with it and added mounting foam to the background and seated it over the custard card for a soft yellow creamy background.  I cut the Montreal die in white using both the inner and outer cutting edges to create a frame.  I backed it with a custard card cut out, gluing them together then reseating the inside die for a clean cut to my frame.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame, then stamped my sentiment on another piece of white card.  I covered it with an adhesive sheet, then coated it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I added glue to my mounting foam on the back of the frame then seated in over my sentiment.  I cut away the excess from around the edge then glued it in the centre of the background. I added small white flatback pearls to the background as embellishments.   I completed the card with my usual paper pierced edge (by using my piercing ruler) and a custard mat and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  18. Good morning Sue & Wilsonettes, what a beautiful card Sue, a stunning Gem as always to brighten our mornings...even when you use the minimum of dies & embellishments Sue you always manage to create stunning effects & I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed if they were to receive this from a crafting card maker.

Cheryl I would also like to congratulate you on the birth of your great grandchild, how thrilled you must be & so good to hear that your family with their lovely new addition are all doing so well...may all their moments together be as wondrous & as happy for years to come as they are in these precious early moments. Sending hugs x x x

Alison...my thoughts are with you but it is wonderful to know that you are able to share giggles in your thoughts of your beloved Aunty...the healing process will be for as long as you need it to...there are certainly no set time limits on recovering from the loss of a loved one. Hope you enjoyed your lunches with your previous colleagues...anyways Alison sending you hugs & smiles x x x

I shall be popping over to leave a well deserved comment on yesterdays card post...could not find the time(Sorry Sue)as I had an absolute full morning then had to spruce myself up for the Workshop with Julia Watts in the afternoon...it was the first one I had ever been to & as I am shy around new people then I was a little apprehensive...but I needn't have worried as Julia was fantastic...John also popped in for a while & he was brilliant helping me through some of the techniques...they are both very lovely down to earth people...in fact everyone was very nice & I would certainly go again. The card making was brilliant the atmosphere stupendous & I learnt quite a few fantastic tips...& the laughs well I almost split my sides especially when I disgraced Sue Wilsons lovely noble die by embossing upside down...how shameful of me...lol...what a numpty but a good laugh had by us all...lol

    I'm sending hugs & smiles to you all & wishing you a great day...Love Beth B x x x

Morning Sue from a very very wet Sheffield. In fact I've got the central heating on for a while as it's more like Winter!!!

Today's gift is just beautiful and as you have just proven your dies really do do all the work to create such a beautiful gift. Your Canadian background so reminds me of quilts and once again this die has gone onto my NEED list. You are one very tempting lady Sue Wilson. lol.

Well although it's raining as though there's no tomorrow there will will not be any crafting for me today. Friday morning usual timetable of the dreaded housework and then off to the other dreaded place of Physio this afternoon. I wonder what they will come up with this time but as my youngest Daughter tells me 'it keeps someone in employment Mum' in her dry tone of voice.

I just know that afterwards it will be sat recovering for the rest of the day.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Informed Cully that ladies do not behave like that but she had the glazed look in her eyes again which I know means what I was saying was going in one ear and out the other. 130. HI SUE
WHAT A FAB BACKGROUND DIE. CAN SEE LOTS TO DO WITH IT. CUT CENTER OUT. CUT IN STEPS OR CUT LONG STRIPS. LOVE DIES WHERE YOU CAN GET A LOT OF USE OUT OF THEM AND CHANGE THEM. IT POPS OUT SO WELL ON THAT COLOUR. I HAVE LOST COUNT OF HOW MANY JARS OF SPARKLE I HAVE USED. JUST MAKES YOUR CARDS.
FABULOUS JOB SUE AND WONDERFUL DIES.

  149. Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Well Sue you are just trying to get our little brain cells working but mines has went on strike. I thought that the Canadian back ground die was full of the boxes and piercing and yet you have managed just to get it to do a frame work around the outside of the focal point and i can't for the life of me work out how you have done it. A beautiful card Sue in the white and custard, just right for a lovely summers day bringing fresh and clean to our eyes. I haven't got any of the Canadian range yet as pennies not forth coming but it doesn't stop me from enjoying all the beauty that you bring to us each day, so thank you Sue for the unstinting support that you give to us.
A Beautiful day up here at the Ochils today although not hot it is a lovely bright day with the clouds passing over leaving their shadows to follow on behind over the hills. I hope that you are all having a lovely day
    Love and crafty hugs

  162. Helloooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! I love this Canadian background die, it's so so pretty. Along with the soft custard card, the sprinkles and the Montreal die, a gorgeous card has been created, (one of many!). I can't wait to see all the other cards that you have made with the Canadian background die! Glad you had a great time Beth at the Julia's workshop. Johanna, I don't think you're the only one who's got a "back seat driver" as we call them. I hope you manage to build your confidence up as it would be a shame not to go on a workshop day. Awwww nice to see you Norah xxx Lynne, you can't say that there is a day that's boring with your dastadly divas.....just sometimes you wish for a rest no doubt lol! Alison, good luck with your bathroom x "Thank you" Sue for the inspiration that you give us. Sending love and hugs to you, your family and to our Wilsonettes who need some Love Karen xx

  171. Beautiful card. I didn't remember that this die had a centre die that could be left out to create the look you have here or added to create a complete block. So I spent ages looking at the close-ups and trying to work out how you had made this card. Such a clever idea. Think I need this die now if I can find anywhere that still has it in stock.
    Take care everyone.
