Hello crafters! Today's card giveaway is another little number featuring the New York Collection dies! I started with the background and embossed a piece of periwinkle card using an older folder called Knotted Trellis for a bit of texture. To the top and bottom edges of it, I added two New York borders, one in milk card and then a black shadow version behind it, slightly offset. Next I cut the centre square from the Times Square set. I cut it twice in milk card and twice in black card. Again, I used the black die cut as a shadow and slightly offset it behind the milk version. I glued both of the to the side of the card. For the central element, I used the Madison Square cut in black and cut into a frame. For the centre of it, I cut the smaller square from the set in milk card and added mounting foam to the edge. I stamped my sentiment and seated the entire piece over it in a diamond orientation. I added it to the centre of the card so it was slightly overlapping the side elements. I created a two tone Camellia flower out of a vellum base and a black edge. I seated it on a blue and black ribbon bow at the bottom of my focal element. I paper pierced the edge of a piece of milk card, then added a thin periwinkle and black mat. The card was then finished with a wider milk mat and pearl accents on the die cuts. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" in size. If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one, just leave me a comment and check back on Saturday's ost to see if you are a winner! No April Fools joke here! All for now, Sue x

Good afternoon Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,
ReplyDeleteThis card has that panoramic view to me Sue today and i don't know what is giving it that look whether it is the New York Square dies or whether it is the bit of black that is running through it, but it is different and could possibly be a close contender for the impossible people in our lives as it is that bit different. I love the shade of blue that you have chosen to use today as it is a summer blue and brings on hopes that the snow that has fallen on my beloved hills is just a temporary glich in the weather. It was just a fine dusting on Monday morning, then a wee hit more yesterday but this morning my hills were absolutely covered in snow that made you wonder whether it was seriously the 1st of April. I think the weather was playing the biggest April fools joke somehow. Well i have got my outfit all sorted for my wee cousins wedding and my special neices wedding so i just need to think what it going on with the hair to keep the titfer on my noggin but knowing me it will be a french plait as per usual as that is the fanciest my hair goes. I have the hair for a big picture hat with the hair flowing down at the back its just a pity i didn't have the face or the height for it. I seen a lovely style of hat,(Audrey Hepburn style) but it covered the face, there again that might not have been such a bad idea. Any way i will try it all on and let she who must be obeyed look and see what she says to it, so fingers crossed.
Sending hugs to all my lovely Wilsonette Angels both on blog and not at the moment, i hope they are on the road back to recovery soon
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (glenochil)
