Faux Wicker Background

Hi crafters!  Don't forget that doubling up your die cuts can sometimes create an entirely different look on your cards as I show in today's video segment.  It is under the ten minute mark so I hope you will be able to sit and enjoy it sometime today or in the future.

The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    Morning Sue
What's the best way to start a day - well it's to be in Sue's craft room to see her demo a most elegant and beautiful gift.
And that's what you did this morning Sue. I would love love love a gift like this to arrive on my doorstep any time. I have made a card by using the Eternal Rings as a complete background but haven't thought of doubling it up to look like basket weave. I shall certainly be doing that now. Thank you for your imagination and your inspiration.

Sheila - both you and Nikki are in my prayers.
Steph - hope all went well yesterday.
    Norah - missing you
Sam - hope you're feeling a little better.

Well it's my Knit & Natter day so I'll see what this week's demo is. I'll be taking something of my own to do as I've a feeling it might be needed today as well as the official demo.

To all in pain or suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Love this one. Has an element of the wow factor and has nearly made my top fie. Colour combo is also beautiful and the softness shows the dies off to perfection.

  150. Hi Sue. Oh WOW !! This card and video are both amazing !! Thank you so much for showing us and explaining things so clearly when making this card today. Lovely colour combo and this technique using the Eternal Rings Striplet Die to make a wicker style background is amazing Sue !! I love, love, love it !! I will definately be having a go at this. I love your beautiful little Camelia Dies to. I am really frustrated as I have been unable to buy the Camelia Dies. They seem to be unavailable every where right now.
Just to say, my Grandad used to make Wicker stuff that looked just like your background Sue. He could make baskets and all sorts of stuff. He often made Wicker seats that people used for sitting on as wheel chairs !! That was ever such a lot of years ago, before I was even thought of !! Unfortunately he passed away when I was only five so I have limited memories of him other than that he was a wonderful man.
Thanks for sharing this Wondeful card Sue and for bringing back a few wonderful memories.
I hope you are having a great time on your holidays love from Tres x x x

  161. Hi Sue

What a gorgeous card. I saw it and thought "**** it, I need that striplet NOW! I have waited long enough!" Your pretty card today (tonight, actually) really has given me a lift.

    Sheil and Nikki, hugs xxx

Been asleep most of the day and evening. Part pain, part relief, part meds part exhaustion! Not even chocolate and caffeine could sustane me today! At doctors first thing, took the evidence & I had and a big, big list of what has been happening. He agreed the local hospital would not be the best place at all to help me so I've been referred back to the specialist centre. Such a big relief and once home I fed Billy and have slept on and off ever since. Mr W had me for almost 2 hrs before I fell asleep again! Feel sore, battered but very relieved. There's no cure as such, I get that- but if there's a way to relieve/ make easier/ slow the damage they will know what it is.

Hugs to all of you, extra hugs if you need them. Hoping Sue is having a wonderful time x

Ok, back to sleep now. Will visit later xxx
