Wedding Bells

Good Sunday morning all!  Another nice wedding card for you today!  I started this card by inking the Treilliage mask with Clear Perfect Medium.  I letter pressed it through the Grand Calibur with a piece of milk card, transferring the ink to the card.  I dusted the inked card with gold mica powder for a soft shimmer.  I matted this piece and added it to a larger piece of card that I stamped The Order of Service stamp on to and gold embossed.  Using the wedding bell stamp, I stamped it with a Clear Perfect Medium pad twice, once on milk card and once on soft gold card.  I gold heat embossed both pieces.  I cut out the entire stamped image on the gold card.  Then, I cut just the bells out by hand on the milk card and glued them in place over the gold card cut out.  I added the piece to the centre of my background with mounting foam.  I wrapped a piece of chalk seam binding around the card and added a messy bow.  I topped it with a gold satin ribbon rose and two matching stick pins that I made.  I finished the card with a pieced milk mat, a thin gold mat and a final milk mat.  The finished dimension are 6 1/2'' x  7 1/2'' in size.

  21. Oh my, is it morning already ? 3hrs sleep ! So much for that extra hour in bed. Oh well, Im sure poor Mr L didnt want to feel poorly all night poor love. Anyway 3hrs on the sofa for me followed by market in 3hrs - oooerr. So, Sunday smiles to you Sue and all Wilsonettes. Now this IS a different way to produce an Order Of Service, it certainly would light up any wedding, its beautiful. My one and only attempt at letter pressing was a bit of a disaster, I thought Id smoothered the ef with perfect medium, well it was the other make, maybe its not as good for letter pressing as the brand you use Sue (its one I bought many years ago) so as it still helps with embossing Ive never felt the need to replace it, maybe I should.
I know that anyone needing wedding stationary would be delighted with a design like this and could be used for any wedding/celebration card.

Many congrats to comment winners. Enjoy your gift.
To those of you that are not so great today, rest up and have a quiet day if you can.
To our missing Wilsonettes, you are really missed here, for whatever the reason, PLEASE come home.
All possible catagories that I could vote for you or CE have had my vote Sue, so will keep my stubbie little fingers crossed for you (I would if they were long enough to cross) lol.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning Sue
Hope you all remembered to put your clocks back 1hr last night. This is definitely the sign that winter is on her way.
Today's gift Sue is An Order of Service that any Bride would love to have for her guests on her very special day.
I love your background and have to hold my hand up to say that I still haven't tried this technique yet. I really must have a go. Your wedding bells are simply to die for and give so much elegance just the job for this wonderful day. Today's colours are so natural and just finish off this beautiful piece of artwork.

Steph - Thank you for letting us know re Pam. You are truly a wonderful friend.
I am with you all the way in your post yesterday about Sue and her wonderful wonderful blog. It's so comforting knowing that everyone on the blog supports each other in many ways and that's why it is a Unique Blog organised by a very UNIQUE LADY.
Good luck for today. Wrap up very warm eg leg warmers hand warmers (hope you have some of those lovely little jelly type which when you crack the little piece of metal inside they change from liquid into a solid piece and are so so warm and stay so for quite some time. I have 3/4 of them and they are so useful as they just fit into the palm of your hands and therefore can be worn under gloves) hat and scarf and last but not least warm boots and thick socks.
Pam - If you pass by take a hug from me. You're in my heart and prayers wonderful lady.

We are off to a Fete de Chrysamthemum this morning in the next village. They have a Fete de Pansy just before Easter and this one just before 1st Nov. All Souls Day. Everyone who has lost a loved one buys a pot of Chrys and takes them to the cemetery to their loved one. The cemeteries are a blaze of colour and look absolutely wonderful. We always go and buy a pot and take it to the cemetery for our lovely neighour we had here in Marigny. She was a Parisian but inherited next door when her parents passed. The Inheritance Laws here in France are different from ours. Here you cannot disinherit your children. They inherit all your property and no single person can sell they all have to agree to do so. If you haven't children then it goes down the line of your family. If no family at all then the Government takes it. Her Daughter inherited it and sold it as she lives in Brittany and didn't want the upkeep etc. We still keep in touch with Bernadette and visit when we can.

Congratulations to all the very lucky winners this week.

To all under the weather and not well hope you feel better soon. To all take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  83. Good morning Sue, and all the ladies.
Such a lovely, elegant card today Sue, and adaptable for a few occasions.
Had a lovely lie in this morning, makes a change after 6.30 a.m. starts every morning to go to daughters so they can get to work, and we get the granddaughters off to school. Had a very (for us) late night as we went to a ceilidh for cancer research and had a fabulous time.
Off this afternoon to a 50's tea dance (birthday treat from September). Only 1 thing wrong, George can't dance. I've tried to teach him for 50 years, ever since I met him, but no good. He's got at least two left feet!!!
Janet, enjoy your trip today. My father is lucky, his anniversary is 2nd Nov. All Souls, so he gets prayers for 1st and 2nd Nov. He's truly blessed.
Steph - with the stubbie little fingers, this is such a great description - thanks again for letting us know about Pam, please give her love and hugs, and take some for yourself if you wish xx.

  89. Good Morning Sue and friends,
Love today's order of service card, although as beautiful as it is I wouldn't want to make 100 of them. I love the combination of dies and colours, it makes my mind boggle when I sit and think about how you come up with so many different card designs! I have been across and voted for both you and Creative Expressions, there is no question about the Best Blog, Particraft just has to be the runaway winner!
Dearest Pam, I did think that you would find it very hard getting back into the routine of getting up and out to work, it's not just the physical strain either, it has happened at a very emotionally draining time too, although as hard as it is, getting up and going out to work may help you get through the anniversary, from experience I know the effect of having too much time to think, my thoughts are with you Pam at this very traumatic time, sending you the biggest hugs xxx
Lancashire Steph, what an amazing Person you are, k out of your way to try and make contract with our Pam, hopefully she will check in and make the most of all the amazing emotional support from her Blog Family and friends. Please wrap up warm today and I hope you have a successful market day. Do you have regulars that come back and ask for cards? Sending you a big squidgey hug xxx
Cameeli is the visit to the Air Museum for a particular reason or are you having a day out, either way enjoy x
Pat I hope you are enjoying your seaside visit, did you. Have a successful trip to Lyndhurst? Looking forward to Tuesday xx
Advice please ladies, I have been asked if I would like to share a table at a craft and gift fair NEXT WEEKEND! Part if me would really like to do it but I am not sure if I can get enough stock together to take part, not sure about you ladies but it takes me a good half day to think of a design, die cut all the elements and put it together, the other thing I have found is that when you feel under pressure to make cards it takes a little of the enjoyment out of it, it would be good however to maybe bring in some more business by showing people my cards, so what do you think? The extra money that it COULD generate would make a huge difference (if I sold any) I guess the hardest thing is pricing, I have a real issue with putting a value on my own cards, I have to fight the urge to make them cheap just to get a sale, my unique selling point is that for the most part my cards are usually personalised.
If you have seen my cards on my blog I would love to hear your advice on wether people would buy them! Thanks in advance x
To each and everyone of you lovely Blog members, I am sending you a relaxed Sunday hug, it's half term this week so I got my gorgeous girlies home all week!!

Today's card is really lovely. I love what you have done with the background and the bells are beautiful. The whole colourway is perfect. Love it!
Sam - wow 3am! Now that's worse than the children on Christmas morning! At least they can be sent back to bed.
Let's hope the dogs don't take too long to adjust to the new time.
Sandra - I think your cards are lovely and I'm sure they'd sell really well. However I have no idea about pricing, how many to make etc. as I have never done it. Steph would be the person to give advice on that. Hope it goes well. Have a good week with the twins.

  105. Hi Sue,
This is a lovely wedding card. Good tip - to cover the mask with embossing ink and then using the mica powder. I can do that, I'm sure. Not so good with the letterpressing on embossing folders.

  112. How beautiful. Love those bells. And the flower and pins make it extra special. I pinned of course. When I pin, I usually make sure that I click on the option to send it to Facebook and Twitter as well. Pretty handy option. Several of my friends have been introduced to your work in this way. I know for sure at least one follows your blog now regularly. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/415386765605431259/

  114. Lovely card Sue but I don't think the picture does it justice.
Congratulations to all the lucky winners!

SANDRA have checked out your blog and your cards are fabulous. Also the jewellery is lovely. I know what you mean about selling cards. I used to sell to local shops but it did take some of the enjoyment out of the hobby and I felt under pressure to make cards. On the plus side it was nice getting paid for them. I think STEPH might be better with pricing as my husband always said I under-priced my cards as I didn't like charging too much for them. Nowadays I only make them for fun!!! I take too long deciding on a design never mind making them in bulk!!!
You could always try and see if you enjoy it.

  130. Good evening Sue and all out there. This card is beautiful although I have no need of a wedding card or Order of Service I can see the merits of this design for an anniversary card.
Pam I do so hope that you start to feel better soon - better is not the right word but it is all I can think of - it is such a difficult time for you following on from your period of enforced house arrest. Please take care and know that there are many friends here thinking of you sending you hugs and sending up prayers for you.
A new week looms and I hope soon I can get some energy back to do more than walk my dog and then sit. Have a good evening everyone Helen K xx
