Hello crafters! Today's video is a lovely card which showcases the California Collection dies and the Heart Lattice striplet. They look amazing together and I think you will agree that this card could easily be done in a number of colours and for different occasions as well. I hope you enjoy the video and I want to thank everyone that has added themselves to the video subscriber list as it is growing along quite nicely.
Finished dimensions are 8"x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteMy name was drawn to win one of Julia's lovely cards yesterday, it will go with the two of yours. Cant believe I have been so lucky this year : ) I noticed that some of your dies were used on lots of the samples of Julias.

Lynne Mills, "Masterpieces waiting to happen" what a great response : )

morning Sue
ReplyDeleteA beautiful beautiful way to start the day - A gorgeous gift; sunshine and in your craft room with you.
Today's gift is simply elegant and so regal. I love love the colour scheme and your striplet dies are simply to die for. I bought your other die and only this week have used it in a similar way. I cut three strips down a piece of card and if I do say so myself was very very pleased with the way it turned out.
A crafting day for me today Yipee!! Hubbies day out so I have the house to myself Yipee!!!
A big welcome home Steph but please remember 'baby steps' first and then you can increase them day by day.
Norah I agree good manners cost nothing and mean everything. There're a good many adults who also should know better re good manners. If all children were taught manners when they are toddlers then the world would be a much better place. We were brought up to say please and thank you and so these small things have stayed with me. If it's being 'old fashioned' then I for one am and I'm staying that way!
Take care everyone and see you tomorrow.
Janet x
Hi Sue, love the card. Really enjoyed watching the video.
ReplyDeleteLove today's card Sue it uses one or two of my favourite dies. Just had to watch the video and learnt how to make a felt flower. My luck with felt has all been bad so far but I live in hopes. Have a great day. xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful card. I have these dies and never thought of using them like this, but will do. Great idea and fab colours x x
ReplyDeleteOnce again another stunning card using your dies. Must try and get the whole set of them. Love the felt flowers, will have to see if I can buy some of the felt. Like Norah and Mrs B a smile and good manners cost nothing. I help the children in foundation stage and year 1's and we always make sure they say please and thank you. Mind you, this will only stick if the parents instill this as well. We have a struggle sometimes for them to listen to their children reading. hope you are feeling better Lancs Steph and hope your hills are alive today Norah. Hugs ass usual to Pam and anyone else who needs one. Will be watching the video later as usual.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue

Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteWell the title says it all 'pretty in pink, such a pretty card, I am off to watch the tutorial!
I have to get my head in the fame today! I have 1 Wedding card, 2 Father's Day cards and 2 birthday cards to make before weekend!
I was baby sitting 1puppy and 2 kittens yesterday, so I got absolutely nothing done! The puppy isn't trained in any way so we had frequent trips into the garden, thank goodness it wasn't raining! The three of them do not get along so far, I am hoping they will eventually !
Hope all of my lovely blog friends are well, hugs to you all and special gentle ones for those in pain or sadness xxxxxxxx

Hi Sue, I love the card and the striplet dies I have these and use them all the time. I also love the pins they are beautiful thanks. Jean Z xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I'm definitely going to try this one out, but will do a paper flower as I don't have bay felt.
ReplyDeletePat.S.Witney, my daughter was saying the same about reading, she has been doing her 10 day placement at a local primary school and is amazed at how many children don't get to read at home and whose parents don't get them to learn their spellings.
On a fantastic point she got her degree results and has graduated with a first, so is off to Worcester uni to do her PGCE in September and I will not have to find the fees as getting a first means that it's all paid for. I am so proud of her and the primary school she is at have also said they want her to do all her placements there as they think she is such a great asset to them!
Well love and hugs to all. Steph take it easy so pleased your home, Myra you have to laugh at the poor lad, Norah, hope the frog is behaving and that the lovely Rory is well, Gail I have my fingers crossed for Monday for your brother. Lynne, what a fantastic one liner you pulled out there. Extra hugs to Pam, Cameeli, Lynda, Lynne, Tres, TOB, Steph, Alison, Karen, Mrs B and our lovely SUE xxx

ReplyDeleteThis card is a Winner for me too Sue , I absolutely love every single thing about it! The video is Wonderful and you explain all the stages so well!
ReplyDeleteI have the striplet die so must give this one a try and the felt rose ( it's gorgeous !)
Norah your son Rory sounds adorable, my little grandson is 5 years old next month and goes to school after the summer and he too has sweet manners which is just lovely.

ReplyDeleteDenise X
Hi Sue, another gorgeous card using your dies. Thanks for another inspirational video.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue and all Wilsonettes. Im so chuffed for you Mrs B for being chosen to receive the card yesterday, what a brill year it is for you.
ReplyDeleteI adore the delicacy of the blush card, its so pretty. The day I went into hospital one of our beautiful Wilsonettes sent me a card similar to this but different colour scheme, sentiment and with 3 stripletts, its beautiful and stood on my locker both on the ward and when I was carted off to High Dependancy, all I was concerned about was that my card wasnt lost in transfer LOL !
Its our 35th wedding anniversary next week so Ive bought my list 'out of hiding' well what's a girl to do when she's asked what she'd like as a gift ? Keep it hidden ? Hell NO !
So maybe I should now add today's dies and point Mr Lancs to Joanna's website haha.
Home alone today as he has just started his drive down to Bham to see his mom, had strict instructions to rest, ok, so if I rest who will finish my order and start making my restock cards for the 22nd or make his anniversary card AND our daughters wedding card ???!!!
So, although I find myself 'head bobbing' half way through doing something - yes, a little nap is on the cards (pardon the pun)
Pam, Tina and Gail im thinking of you all and to those unwell and down with the world, I send you caring loving gentle hugs.
Lancashire Steph xxx
Lovely Card Today :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue,.
ReplyDeleteOh no, not another die to go on the wish list! This card is absolutely beautiful, and I love the tip on stretching the glitter card. I often "gut" a piece of card but have never thought of doing this.
Well, I'm more or less done and dusted and will do a bit of gardening before lunch. Then it's card making until the granddaughters come from school.
Love to all the ladies and I hope those who are poorly are feeling better in body and mind today. My friend is still in High Dependency after her breast surgery.
Have a good day Sue,
Maureen xx
WAUW this is so gorgeous Sue, and you´re absolutely right, it can be used for any occasion, that´s for sure. Just gorgeous.

Hi Sue. Well as always a fab video today !! I absolutely love, love love today's card !! I have the blush card you have used, I really must use it more often. I just look at it and don't want to use it all up as it is so lovely !! Silly, really as I can always buy some more !! I love the heart striplet die and it is another one on my long wish list. I do have the embroidered striplet die though and I have not yet used it so I think I may have a go at this beautiful, stunning card with that die instead. I have the Californian Decorative Frames B die set and it is gorgeous Sue !! I use it all the time. I love the felt flowers you have made on this card but I have not yet tried to make your gorgeous Roses dies from felt so I think I would make those instead. Thank you for sharing this wonderful technique though as I am sure I will attempt it at some point. I just have to finish the three men's cards I am making and then thankfully I can make two ladies cards next !! Thank you for all the hard work you do to bring us these videos, I cannot tell you just how important they are to me as I find it so difficult with this daft brain to follow written instructions !! I am forever grateful to you Sue.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day Sue, all my love Tres x x x
To Steph, I am so glad you are back !! I think you are definitely doing the right thing leaving your crafty wish list lying around !! I have tried the same thing with my hubby in the past but he is daft as a brush and never notices anything !! Even when it is right under his nose !! You are so very lucky that yours takes notice !!
Please rest and take care of yourself, love Tres x x x
To all the Wilsonettes, I hope everyone has a good day today. Sending lots of love and hugs to you all, love Tres x x x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, yet another belter of a card. Love how you have done the felt flower. The heart striplet die has now been added to my ever growing must have list. Lol to you and mom lynne m x x x
ReplyDeleteI should have known that my two pesky critters wouldn't behave for more than one day at a time. They were up at 4:30am and have been bright and breezy ever since . Not so me as after the room change yesterday ( still got lots to do) my aches have got aches. The garden training is off to a poor start as the cheeky monkeys are still pulling up the plants and leaving the weeds. So changing how I approach this by saying to the said pesky critters mum loves the weeds so leave them alone. Don't know if this will work but its worth a shot as having to replant the flowers is driving me nuts!!!.
Mrs B - how I came up with that I don't know because by then my brain and body was on melt down. x x x
Lindsay - many congrats on your daughters first - well done her. Hope the foals are ok x x x
Lynda - hugs to Annie, Bambi and Freddy x x x
June, Alison, Karen, Norah ,Tres, Sandra, Barbara, Frances, Pam, Cameeli, Steph and Angela - hugs to you from poochies.
Apologies if I have missed anyone out.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteI am late in posting today, had an early start and a busy day, so no time for crafting. A lovely card Sue, just going to watch the video and will have a well earned glass of wine while I watch. Love the colours and the striplet die, I have got this, so will try and make this card while my husband watches football and the US golf open over this weekend.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteHi to all lovely crafting friends!
Sue, this card is really , really up there with my favourites.
I think it is gorgeous! Will definitely try it very soon. I have all the bits necessary and blush card arrived from Joanna only yesterday! I love it and like Tres use it sparingly because I like it so much! Thanks for inspiring us daily and for the clear instructions! I love that striplet die!
It has been a beautiful day here in sunny Lancashire. It does make such a difference.
Cazzie, so pleased you got your cast off - as has been said already to Steph - baby steps to you both. No rushing about. Sending love to you both .
Ita - so sorry you not well and back in hospital . Do trust it will not be for long and that you'll feel better very soon. Sending love and best wishes. x
Welcome Gill P. you'll love this blog!
Maureen - sorry to hear about your friend thinking of both of you.
Joanna - meeting friend for breakfast! Hope you enjoyed it . Lovely idea.
Pat S - know exactly what you mean about parents and children. I taught infants quite a while ago now but at a time when parents cared and would back me up if their child stepped out of line. Things have changed so much - not everywhere I know - but as I still do the after school craft on Mondays I see a vast difference in some children's behaviour. It's sad.
I must stop - sending love to you all - tonight is button sorting night! Wish me well!
Love to Sue and all lovely ladies on this blog,
Myra x
Hi Sue, hope you are well & you enjoyed your Birthday? Today's card is SO stunning & elegant, yet simple to achieve! The colour combo is just right for any occasion! I have the Californian dies collection, so I will be trying to achieve something similar to this, VERY SOON (BUT NOT TAKING YOUR IDEAS FROM YOU!)! Best wishes, Mary Blight XXX

NORAH missed my daily fix, hope you are okay?
Hi Sue, lovely card again today and great video as usual. I have the other striplet die and a selection of other dies that may do the job. I love this style of felt rose, even I can manage this one lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hug, Lynne, and when you have trained those fur babies would you like to try with my youngest kitty? As soon as I have prepared a patch of ground for seeds or plants she thinks 'oh goody, a new toilet'!
Hugs to Ita in hospital and Lancashire Steph hoping she is behaving herself and taking it easy.
Myra P - I hope you sorted out those buttons. One of the joys I remember from childhood (a long time ago) was playing with my mother's button box. My sister has it now but some of the original buttons remain as we could neither of us bring ourselves to use them.
Hoping Sue and all the WIlsonettes had a good day.
Frances
