Elegant Lace Flower
Good morning crafters! It's video day for you today. Sit back, relax and enjoy today's card in tutorial style. Don't forget, you can always see the list of products used by merely clicking on the Joanna Sheen button below!
Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
Sue, I am again amazed really stunning, elegant and a stylish card, off now to watch, have a great day but wrap up warm its freezing!! out there this morning.. Cameeli from Richmond xx
Hi Sue. Great card and you have used some of the gorgeous flowers that I can make that actually look halfway as good as yours:) Enjoy the sun while you can Sue! Take care.
BOO. Morning Sue (although its late at night for you as I open the door to Wilson's world) morning Wilsonettes hope you all slept well, another day, another W.O.W. (Wonder Of Wilson) to kick start our day, the wind is gusting in my world (and nothing to do with last night's dinner may I add) !! At least my hands are working this morning, so no 'Groundhog day' for me thank goodness, and I can medicate myself without a repeat performance of yesterday's madness (as commented on, on yesterday's blog entry) ! So as Im in working condition at the moment, Im off to listen to the soothing American tones of our Leader and watch the tutorial on how to make this W.O.W. 10 more sleeps before we have the delights of watching our wonderful Sue on TV again, and I cant wait, unfortunatly I have a C craft fair to do so will have to record the show which Im not happy about (unless I watch on my phone) but then I wouldn't be able to email in and welcome our wonderful friend back to our screens ! And it wouldn't look good should anyone want to buy off me if I welcome them with ... "Shhh Im watching Sue, so help yourself and put the money in the tin" !!! Hohum.
What ever date it is that you fly back Sue, have a safe journey and pack a nice warm jumper in your hand luggage as you're going to need it ! No more T's and shorts Im afraid Sue.
Ok, off to watch video now and leave you all in peace - Yep, I hear cheering : )
Sendind love and hugs to all. Have a lovely day and wrap up extra warm today.
Hi Sue Lovely card today, love the little flowers - mine never seem to look so pretty! Can't stay long as I'm off to baton down the hatches as the wind is horrendous and I've already got things blowing around the garden such as flower planters and the empty wheelie bin!
Morning Sue another super card its so elegant. Really like the layout on this one. Just watched the video whuch i really enjoyed keep them coming sue as they really help. Take care Sue xx
Morning Sue, Brilliant card today. I love these little flowers. This card is really elegant. Hope everything is nice and warm at your end, we have a heavy frost today.
Great video, Sue, and a super card again today - thank you. Love the labels cutout with matching stamping beneath. My ribbon flowers never seem to melt - perhaps wrong ribbon or not enough heat in gun? Despite all the gritting on the roads last night, no frost here just a good bit of wind. So lucky!
Hi Sue. Gorgeous card again, but I will have to watch the video later as I am off to work soon (I really shouldn't be typing this now!). Very windy in Wales too and we have a beautiful red sky but you know what they say ...red sky in morning, shepherds warning! More bad weather to come then maybe. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. xx
Just watched the tutorial and it was great thanks Sue. Can I ask, is it play, or pure curiosity that makes you find the little gems like making flowers from scrap ribbon ? I presume it will only work with organza type fabrics ? If Id have played with my curiosity like that, it would be disaster something like organza v fire fighters ! Mind you, after having a quick glimpse of our local fire fighters the other week, I may invite them for coffee, while my curiosity goes mad : )
If I had ANY of the ingredients used to make that card, Id have a go today but Im not lucky enough to have any of it, and looking at the Joanna Sheene site, the foundation card is out of stock, in fact the colour's Id love to buy have sold out : ( hope the shelves are re-stocked soon as Im putting money aside when I can to start stocking up on serious goodies like the foundation cards, the 'big gun toy's' will have to wait a while longer. Why hasn't anyone thought of a craft library where we can loan die's etc just like book and toy library's ?
Well, Mr Lancashire has risen from the depths of his pit so it's coffee time. Farewell my lovelies have a spellbinding day. Lancashire Steph xx
Morning Sue A stunningly beautiful card, love your back and white theme and the lovely flowers. The background shines like glass - just stunning Hugs Carol x
morning Sue - Hope everyone is indoors and safe away from the horrendous high winds and rain we have here this morning. I really love to meet with you on your video morning along with my morning coffee. Today's card I'm not so sure re the colouring - black and blush/pink are not really my colours but for me it's the background stamp that wins today. These have gone to the top of my wish list and I really really really need them!!!! They are truly beautiful. Take great care everyone over the next couple of days and if you don't have to go out stay warm and safe. Janet x
Morning Sue Well what can I say other than, what an Awesome Card it's just Truly Stunning! and I love it when I've got some of the items to play with, I'll just have to adapt where I'm missing items. I Love how you stamped the Fabulous Cathedral Lace Stamp, they are very pretty, it looked fantastic done in Black then Heat Embossed in Black to give the tone on tone look, Labels 30 is such a useful Die in so many ways looks great as a aperture, I really love how you Embossed your Statley Circle Die while leaving in the Die, using your Basket Weave Embossing Folder, I love those Bracket Borders that you chose, I love all the Borders brought out from "Spellbinders" and I Love those Awesome Flowers, Ribbon, Tulle etc the Video is just "Truly Fantastic" as always love and hugs from Sam x
GM Sue - great video and card as usual. Have tried the flowers once before but didn't get on with it - think I over did it and crisped the edges a tad - was using brown ribbon offcuts so dont think that helped as couldn't really see how much I was cooking it! Will have another go with a lighter coloured ribbon and see if that helps. They are lovely to look at so must try to master those me thinks. Rgs Clare W
Hi Sue, I can only echo Sam's comments. This is a truly elegant and interesting card, a real Sue Wilson creation. I use the bracket borders a lot, also for male cards. This card is one I'll attempt to make in the new year because I can locate it again quickly via Joanna Sheen's online shop. Thank you so much for sharing all your creations with us. Hugs, Rose

Whoo hoo!!! What a lucky girl I am - the postie delivered my wonderful Sue Wilson original this morning. It is the blue and white card (very winter looking) with the words "Hello my friend". It is so beautiful. I will frame it and hang it on my craft room wall (after showing it off to several people first of course). To say I'm tickled pink is an understatement and to think I nearly missed out by being away when my name was picked! Many thanks Sue for your generosity. XXX
A stunning card. Just watched the video and really enjoyed it. I have a thank you and retirement card to make to the same person and this is ideal. Thank you Sue.
Hi Sue, just to say how much I am enjoying your video tutorials, thanks so much for making them, so much more enjoyable than when you are interupted on TV. Oh and the card is another beauty. Edwina

Your videos are always a great start to my morning and I very much appreciate all the time and effort you must spend making each and every one of them. Todays card is wonderful. Unfortuately I only have your basket weave background folder and foundations cardstock for this card. i could however have a go at making those wonderful flowers. I would have to improvise on everything else so I think I will have to wait until Christmas and hope I get a visit from Santa !!! Happy Crafting everyone. Lots of love Tres x x x

Hey Lancashire steph. I'm lucky enough that my local craft store manager runs classes at her warehouse and lends me her dies to have a play with!! Lol she is so good to me!! Mind u I do spend most of my wages in there!!!
Love the black and white theme of today's card. it's a stunner, and I shall watch the video later on. I think I have just figured out how you made the frame on yesterdays card. Cut out two of the frames and put them together, covered the join with the spellbinders shape.

What can I say? Fantastic video as always Sue and a gorgeous card at the end of it. As you say, break it down step by step and what seems like a complex card suddenly becomes much easier. Thanks again for your tips on how to make simple, quick little flowers.
Hugs Sharon Kirkwood x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white theme of today's card. it's a stunner, and I shall watch the video later on. I think I have just figured out how you made the frame on yesterdays card. Cut out two of the frames and put them together, covered the join with the spellbinders shape.

What can I say? Fantastic video as always Sue and a gorgeous card at the end of it. I love the embossing of black on black and the showing of the embossing folder, as in, not folding it over to get the embossed look but with the shimmying of card. Yesterdays card was another "wow!". Gorgeous, gorgeous colours and dies used. I love the twine, it makes a subtle and lovely difference. Good luck to all of you in the chance to win it! "Thank you Sue" for everything that you do. xx Love Karen xx
