Hi crafters! We have another winner (this is such fun!!) and that is:
Karen Lotty!!!
Email me to claim your prize! (americansue1@gmail.com)
Back to a Christmas card today! I had a tough time photographing this one because the light kept reflecting off the acetate I used! I decided to keep this one rather simple too. I used a piece of gloss white card and stamped snowflakes (from the Snowflake and Sprigs set by Creative Expressions) across it using a clear perfect Medium pad. I used alcohol inks (cool Peri, aqua, and pearl mixative) and the Tim Holtz applicator tool with a piece of felt. I pounced over my stamped images with it. You have to look closely in the pics below, but you can see where they have resisted the ink. I stamped my sentiment to the side on this strip and embossed it in white. I decided that I wanted to recess the strip and have a snowflake bridge the gap, but since I picked the thinnest one, I didn't think it would be secure on its own so I added the acetate atop so it had something to sit on. I used the New Years Dove embossing folder to give texture to my white background, before splitting it and adding the acetate. I raised it with foam pieces and centred it so my inked strip showed through the acetate. I glued my snowflake from the 2012 Pendant set to the top of the acetate. I finished the card with my paper pierced double white mat to frame it nicely and a pretty pearl swirl across the top. Great card to help use up some of those strips of both acetate and gloss card you may have hanging around! Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size. All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card and lets me finally use the bottle of alcohol inks that i bought and then forgot how to use. Actually found them again to colour change the tiny clear things that you used in the centre if the flower with the pinky/peach centre.
Will try out this technique though to see what happens. I really like the embossing plate that you have used, it is so pretty. And i know you said you had mounted the snowflake in acetate, but i still can't see it.
Another winner Sue, thank you for sharing your crafty wisdom with us.
Well done Karen, i know you will enjoy your prize.
Love and crafty hugs
