Hi bloggers! Silver and celery are the colours of choice for today's card. I used the border stamp from the Celebrations Labels One set by Justrite and stamped it on the celery coloured card using a clear perfect medium pad. I heat embossed it with Silver Shine embossing powder. I used the edger from the Bracket Borders to cut the matching shape around it. Leaving an open area for my focal element, I did the same thing on the opposite side of the card. I lined this piece up with some white card and embossed the Bracket border design into the edge of the white card. I cut four pieces of the Damask Motif die out of white card. These pieces were then added to each side of a Fleur de Lis Square cut out of grey card. There are little "helping hands" on the Damask die which allow them to hold on to other die shapes. Next I stamped the square from the Celebration Labels one set and heat embossed it with silver powder. I cut it out with two of the Scalloped Labels One die shapes. I attached it in a diamond orientation atop the Fleur de lis square. I stamped the smaller square from the same set and embossed it in silver as well. The sentiment was then stamped in the centre with a black Archival ink pad and the piece was cut out with the Scalloped Labels One set. I added it in the centre of my card with mounting foam. I made a rose out of celery card following the direction on my tutorial at the the of the blog. I covered the flower with Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue and "sugared" it with Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Sprinkles. I tied a messy bow out of white seam binding and seated my flower in the centre. I completed the card with a pierced edge on the top and bottom of my card and a few flatback pearls as accents. Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteLove the border stamp and I already have the dies. Will have to put the border stamp on my wish list today. I love this card. However, I know what the grey and white look like.(although the grey look a very nice shade of blue on my screen. But not to sure what the celery colour is. Is it a very pale green?. As that's the colour of celery. Will this be a new colour which will be coming to our tv screen soon. Will be recording Sam's shows today.
Stunning card Sue today; celery card hey? That's a new colour on me but how wonderful with silver. Can class this as one of my 5 a day!! Hugs x Pauline A

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. What an absolutely gorgeous card today !! I love every thing about it !! I would love to make this card but there are too many dies and stamps that I don't have. I will just have to drool over your card instead !! It is beautiful. I love the celebrations one stamps and have admired them for some time now as I have also admired the damask dies which I feel I really should invest in as I have never seen a card made with them that I did not like !! The bracket edged dies are still on my wish list as are the fleur de lis squares !!! Not looking to hopeful for me is it !! I love the colours you have used. I just really love how you have put all the dies together. Your flower is great too. I think you could make this into a wedding card using just white on white card and the silver embossing. I have never mentioned it before but your pierced edges always make your cards look sophisticated and add a touch of elegance. Happy crafting everyone. Lots of love Tres x x x
