Hi Crafters! How's this for a clean and simple style? What's more, it's relatively flat (except for the flatback pearls, that is!) Can you believe it! LOL And yes, I did do this card. Every once in awhile I just like to get a little bit inky and have a good old fashioned play! For this card, I used the Vintage Labels Three from Justrite stamps and cut an aperture in a piece of copy paper using the largest size in the set. I taped my copy paper over a piece of coconut white card. Using several distress inks, Mustard Seed and Fired Brick, I carefully inked through my aperture to create a sunset sort of effect. I tend to pounce rather than rub with my cut 'n dry foam around the edges, that way I don't catch the edge of the copy paper and lift it accidentally. Once I was happy with the colour coverage, I removed the copy paper. I used the Floral Thank you silhouette flower and inked it with a black archival and stamped it off centre. I added my sentiment below in black and three flatback pearls in the opposite corner. A black mat to frame it, then a double white pierced mat to finish it off. Super simple and super quick and quite pretty, I think too! Finished dimensions are 7" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteVery striking card that is gorgeous. Love the sunset effect and the stamp is beautiful. I really enjoy stamping but since dies have become so popular, I don't do as much so this has given me some inspiration to get my inks and stamps out and have a "play". Thanks Sue.
Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteWell i don't know if this a new Sue that has come and taken over, or an old Sue that is back, but your cards are definately not in the Sue Wilson guise that we are used to.
The simple and elegant cards of the last few days are very different and such a change in design. No big bows and pins, pearl drops around the edge or the fancy pearl or gem stone frons.
These cards are beautiful, but i am getting withdrawal symptoms (lol). I need an all out fancy, bow, pins, everything pleaseeee.
Another very striking, elegant card to be proud off.
Thank you Sue,
Love and crafty hugs
Norah
Well, Sue, so different for you. A very striking card with perfect stamping - something I find difficult to do. Thinks - should try harder! Do like this, but am hooked on your 'usual' style.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteLovely card, I try and keep things I have to post as flat as I can due to the postage costs, but cards I give in person get the raised bits and extra bling.
Happy crafting

Hi Sue. This card is so simple but looks absolutely stunning !! I love the sunset colours you have used and I really love the justrite flower stamp to. It has been on my wish list for ages now. I also really like that sentiment as well. I think something similar to this with toned down colours and a different sentiment would be make a lovely sympathy card. It is strange looking at a card with no dies used on it !! Thanks for sharing all these lovey ideas with us.

Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteI had a fun day with my daughter on Monday , inking and stamping our own vintage paper to cover my daughters wedding favors. We had so much fun and my goodness did we look colourful ourselves when we had finished.
I think your card today is striking, and although I really love your whistle and bow cards, it's lovely to be shown another technique to add to our crafting arsenal especially if you are new to crafting. So thank you Sue.
:-)
Kind regards
