Hi friends, Labels 28 again today but in a lighter fare. I used a piece of grey tonal patterned paper for my background. I then cut two of the
Blossom Corners from Heartfelt Creations out of
coconut white card. I glued them into place so they created a lacy backdrop for my buckle card. Using the
Labels 28 die set, I cut three frames, two slightly smaller than the centre one. On the larger centre frame, I stamped first using the
Blossom Frame from the Stamps To Die For Range and a
clear perfect medium pad. I heat embossed it with
Silver Shine Embossing powder, then cut it out with the coordinating dies. I cut a forked flag and wove it through the three frames and centred it across them. Next I stamped my sentiment from the
All In The Family Sentiment set from JustRite stamps. I cut it out with the oval from the
Radiant Rectangles set. I used the inner decorative insert die with it for a bit more detail. While it was still in the die, I used
Brushed Pewter Distress Stain on a piece of cut 'n dry foam to highlight the sentiment. I mounted it with 3D foam across the three frames to complete my focal element. I added a darker grey mat, then finished the card with a double mat of
coconut white card with an inner pierced mat. I hope you like it! Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8" in size.
Thank you for all the lovely comments left on the giveaway card day. The winner is:

Hello Sue
ReplyDeleteNot sure about this card! Like others have said colour doesn't do it for me it seems to lack that va va voom we have come to expect from you my love.
I don't think it would cheer me up very much to receive it sadly maybe the photo doesn't do it justice and in the flesh it may be beautiful, but I can appreciate the construction and the use of the dies here so don't be down hearted with my comment :)
Congrats to the winner of the card the lucky girl!!

It's an interesting card, but I felt that the grey colour needed edging ,but as above the photo may be the problem.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Love your use of those corner dies, so clever. Great card, very elegant but I think it is one of those that just doesn't photo well as it looks a bit dull on my screen. I know if I saw it in the flesh, as it were, it would be lovely. Congrats to Lacelady, you lucky thing. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue, I have never used grey in my crafting, but I am coming round to it when I see how lovely you make it look, a very pretty card. Have a restful weekend.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. A lovely card today !! There is only one thing I don't like about it. and that is the colour. It looks too dull. (Sorry.) I really like the design and layout and I think it would look great in other colours. I do love your new stamp for the labels 28 as it looks beautiful embossed in gold or silver embossing powder. I really like those blossom corner dies to. Something else which may look nice is using a background folder on the two smaller labels 28 dies. Have a lovely day love Tres x x x
