Hi my crafty friends! Since we are still doing the POTW shows I thought that I would show a few more cards from it this week. This one using the window D-Lite is one of my favourites. I cut the inside of the window in the centre of a piece of coconut white card so I had an aperture. I used the chicken wire mask and embossed the remaining part of the background around the window ( I left the insert in place so that portion did not get embossed) Then I cut the window again in white but used both the dies to give me a complete cut out window. I mounted the full window over the cut out by gluing it directly on top. Next I cut one of the Gilded gates and nipped away the two end post parts and glued them to either side of my window for a more stately appearance. I added a piece of striped silver pearl paper to the bottom of my card, with another strip of it cut to use as a border between the two sections. I tied a double bow out of silky crush and added a pearl embellishment and stick pins and added it to the side of the card at the border. I stamped my sentiment and embossed it with silver powder. I cut it into a strip with a fork on the end. Using just the dabber of the brushed pewter distress stain, I edged the forked strip. I bent it to give it a bit of shape and added it to my card using glue dots. I then cut a piece of decorative pearl patterned paper to use behind my window. I matted the piece with a thin silver mat and cut a double white border and pierced the inner layer. I added varying sizes of flatback pearls to the corners to complete my card. Great for a wedding, anniversary card or even a christening card, don't you think! Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size. All for now, Sue x
I adore this card Sue, saw it on the show and it is perfect for a wedding card I have to do. The shows have been wonderful.

ReplyDeleteGM Sue - think I might have to succumb to that window die afterall! lovely card.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sunset background demo - will try that. Bev's gilding tip was also interesting and as for the pinching people not wearing green and drinking green beer on St Patricks Day in America - well I've never heard the like - but I have now - can you imagine red beer in the UK on St George's Day? I dont think so.

ReplyDeletethis card is one of my favourites and I simply love it, but because of money I couldn't buy both sets so guess what!!! this is in the set I DIDN'T buy, LOL.....would you Adam & Eve it? (and I don't say this enough)..........
Thanks so much my dear Sue for showing your inspiring makes every single day as i'm sure others will agree, without you we wouldn't see in our dies, half of what we do now!!! hugs Sue and I can't wait to see you tomorrow on our screens again! Hugs, Vick xxx
