Hi bloggers! From soft pastel yesterday to wild foil today! Gotta keep you on your toes, don't I? LOL I struggled taking the picture of this one a bit as the foil was very reflective. When you scroll to the next picture, it's a bit better as I turned the light off so you can really see the pattern in the Red Tiger foil that I used. I started with a piece of card and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet. I cut an aperture out of the centre using the resplendent Rectangles. I peeled the backing paper off and covered it with foil, making sure to press it into the adhesive sheet. Once covered, I used a brush to take away the excess bits (save those for another use). Next I cut a large rectangle frame from the set in black and glued it around the aperture. I put foam mounting pieces on the back of my foiled pieces and set aside. Next I used a piece of the soft gold card and simply embossed the rectangle shape into it. I stamped the swirly frame from the Grand Sentiment set and embossed it with gold powder. I stamped the sentiment in the frame and embossed it also. I glued this piece in the centre of my embossed gold card so it lined up with the die embossing. Next I placed the foiled piece over the embossed gold card, lining it up also. I made a flower out of black card. I followed the rose directions on the Creative Expressions website for this. Once the flower was completely dry, I put it on the end of a pokey tool and dipped it into clear melted ultra thick embossing powder to create a faux porcelain flower for my card. I tied a messy bow from black seam binding and put the rose in the middle. I added the rose to the lower left hand corner of my card and pierced the edges to finish it off. It's a bold one, I know, but I'll stand by it. I think the foil is a very interesting look! Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x
Morning Sue, love this card. It is bold but elegant too. The font on the sentiment is beautiful and that "porcelain" flower is to die for.
