Thank You Channel Card

Hi Bloggers!  A thank you card seems appropriate for today's post as I want to thank you all for the lovely reception to my shows!  They were a good bit of fun, but I was worried with them being so soon after Christmas.  You really seemed to like the offering so that was extra nice!  I have used my teal card today for a truly simple card.  I stamped my background with the Victorian Tile stamp from Justrite using a clear perfect medium pad.  In essence, you get a watermark look when doing this.  I didn't  heat emboss the pattern as I wanted it to really look like a subtle tone on tone pattern in the card.  Next I cut a top section using the scalloped edger.  I cut a smaller bottom section using the same edger but facing the other direction.  I wanted my scallops to face my sentiment.  Next I embossed both pieces using the Creative Expressions Floral embossing folder (still one of my favs!)  I added mounting foam to both pieces to raise them for dimension.  Next I stamped a piece of white card with the same tile stamp using perfect medium again.  Now, I will have to confess here that I am terrible at cleaning my stamps which are often used with black ink.  This is no exception!  There was a bit of residue when I stamped this, however, i liked that it helped show off the pattern just a bit so I decided to go with it.  I had planned on clear embossing it to have it show up, but decided to leave it since you could see the pattern.  I stamped my Thank you sentiment (JustRite stamps) over it in black archival ink.  I mounted the teal background pieces creating a channel where my phrase was.  I  made a micro beaded flower out of spiral flower 3 and added it with some white tulle to the left side of my channel.  I used a pearl swirl as an accent across the top of the card and pierced the edges to complete it.  You could easily dress it up if it's too simple for your taste, but it's nice to have a simple,  elegant card ready for the right occasion!  Finished Dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  20. GM Sue - great card and great shows! Thank You - I ordered the embroided edges set. Think the matching stamps and die sets could become addictive. I really must give those ribbon flowers a try soon - they look stunning and your demo was really useful - I have recorded the shows also to refer to and look at your wonderful samples - there were so many - it must have taken you hours! I especially liked the lilac one so could we have that on the blog soonish perhaps?...

    morning Sue
First I am so cross with my laptop that whatever I did yesterday I could not get it to 'watch live' C&C so I missed your programmes.I had bought my allocation before the show but that doesn't compensate for missing your demos.
Now I've got that out of my system I really do like today's card - it goes in my 'less is more' file and I have to confess that since I received my packs of teal and blush card I have not stop using them.

  59. Not too simple at all, it's wonderful! I thought I was the only one who did that with the stamps, glad its not just me lol! I often clean mine just by stamping off the excess ink on some scrap paper, but occasionally you get some when it resets for some reason. Anyway, since I invested in some wipes I've been a little better, though not much! I read recently that versamark can perish the rubber which has scared me a bit, so I'm more careful now when using that. Is this why you use perfect medium Sue, or is it just that you have to because that's what they sell on C&C? Anyway, loved the shows. Well done! Maddy x

Can't wait to get it and replicate some of your stunning cards, always makes me feel happy as its such a vibrant colour, and I do tend to do naturals, but hey a change is as good as a rest so they say lol.

  154. Beautiful card Sue, had terrible day yesterday with my internet and C & C website. Missed most of your second hour and 5pm show and lost out on the sentiment set with 2 sets of rectangles, which when it came to pay showed the price as £226...... Dont know what happened and by time cleared they were sold out. So to say I was not a happy bunny is an understatement.

    Hope you enjoyed yourself

  156. Hi Sue,
Fab shows yesterday, enjoyed them so much and the samples were fantastic. Thank you for all your hard work, it's really appreciated. I've got it all recorded so I can refresh my memory when the stamp I ordered arrives (plus all the other new things I've added to my long wish list, which might take a little longer!)
Love the teal and white today. I didn't realise the background was stamped as well as embossed until I looked in close-up. Fabulous.
Looking forward to March now! Hope you have a great time in the States in the meantime,
    Sue xx
