Hi bloggers! I think I missed showing this card (at least I can't find hide nor hair of it anywhere!). I made it for shows in Aug. or Sept. It is one of those long skinny shaped cards I adore. I used the fancy lattice and extended it to make a long background (it was about 5" x 9" in size as I recall). I left the edge on the sides of it so I had somewhere to hide my mounting foam pieces! I cut frames from the Marvellous Squares, one larger, two smaller for my focal elements. I love this set of dies because there are so many different combinations you can use to create different looking shapes. I layered them across my card and added two white flourishes on each side. In the centre I used one of the dies from the French Frills by Samantha Walker to create a frame to highlight my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment on the same pale celery green card as my frames and cut it out with the smallest die in the Marvellous Square die set. I added just a light inking of Shabby Shutters to give it some dimension. I tied a double bow using the ruffly edged white ribbon and added a pearl embellishment and stick pins to the centre. I pierced the top and bottom edges and added some tiny pearls as accents on the dies. Whatcha think? Also, a quick note, I see that we have hit the blog candy goal. However, it will have to be postponed until I am back in the UK . Don't worry, even if we hit the next goal, I will just do a second drawing then also. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, I love this card, but I find the Lattice die a lot of trouble to do. I've tried shims, turning it around etc but it only ever cuts a small bit!(Plus you can't turn it round when cutting it out of a card front!)..It takes about 8 times through the GC and even then I have to cut some bits out with the craft Knife!..I would appreciate any tips..thanks..xxx

I purchased the fancy lattice die and can't get it to cut at all. Just leaves a pretty pattern in the paper. Does yours need any shims or multiple goes through your machine. I love the die and don't want to return it.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, another gorgeous card i think you fab Jean Z xx ps to Anonymous I have found that if you cut on thicker card it is better and run it through your machine a few times xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteThis card looks quite technical actually because of the detail on it so kind of contrasts with the last card - making the last one much simpler in a way. A nice fresh green shade, which is refreshing for this time of year with all the Christmas greens being banded around.
Please could I make a request... just a small one... Is it at all possible for you to include the dimensions of either the card base - or sometimes the finished cards. It helps to visualise the overall card - and of course envelope. Only if it doesn't cause too much more work though...
Thank you in advance
Paula x x x-
Love how the light green just pops on the card, lovely background. love it

Hello,
